  1. All the banners / logos / advertising can be fired up and taken down in a couple of hours tops. I am sure it will be back to normal tomorrow with no harm done.

In saying that reading through the forum today it seems like the damage has been already been done.

It's a shame its been viewed that way by so many.

I am sure the board will be forced into making a wee statement tomorrow to clear things up and maybe soften the blow by alluding to the sums of money/ deal that has been struck with Celtic.

They play again Saturday lunch time so they arent going to take everything down today to put it back up and again for me I am only concerned about the wedding. As i have said they play a half 12 kick off on Saturday we are due there at 2.45ish leaving half an hour for them to empty the ground , make sure surrounding area clean and signage gone?????

What if the Bride is wearing green ?

green is just a colour Shull they dont own it :-) ya big nugget :-)

  2. I wasn't overly fussed initially, however as regards the wedding function , I'm certain photos will be taken at the ground usually with our crest somewhere in the picture ?

This won't be possible if the Celtic branding is still in place and for that , I'm bothered , this needs bringing to the attention of the club ASAP

    I hope there is a solution smile.png

ME too - still working on it!

Hang on a second, does anyone actually know if this sign is even staying up for the next week? I'd have thought that the only time it would make sense for Celtic (and indeed St. Mirren) to have use of the shop would be on their actual match days. I'd imagine it'll be a St. Mirren shop again until the day of the second pre-season friendly.

This is the problem Paul was told 'they didnt know' if it would still be there on Saturday. The complete lack of not being interested in this wedding that was booked a YEAR ago is worrying. Obv making more money out of celtic. Paul and I were going down to renew our season tickets tomoro.......right now it ain't happening!

  3. Unlike some, me included, you have a valid gripe here. You have someone here who has specifically booked St Mirren Park for a wedding over any other wedding venue you could have chosen. You didn't choose St Mirren Park randomly - it was obviously chosen for the emotional tie and the attachment to the football club. If the wedding was booked well before the Celtic deal then there simply should be NO Celtic signage visible for this important day. Anything that is being erected tonight should be taken down, or at least completely covered up.

The club shouldn't need to be told this. Surely to goodness they can recognise that a long-standing wedding booking at the ground should not be compromised by the Celtic deal in any way.

Will they though? As I mentioned earlier, any confidence I had in them that they actually give a fcuk about what the St Mirren support think has finally been eroded.

I genuinely hope the wedding day goes well, and the club display a bit of sensitivity to the occasion, and the reason you aren't in the Glynhill, Normandy, or any other hotel / wedding venue.

Brilliantly put Poz, I honestly am beyond gutted at the whole thing but I haven't stopped and gave up yet!

  4. I was neither up nor down to be honest about it all but after reading Miss Saint above, this puts a while new slant on things. Obviously Paul will want pictures taken at the tunnel area etc.

Have the club given you a guarantee that there won't be any Green Vermin signs anywhere spoiling your day?

Paul has just posted a foto of the tunnel celtic badge above it and celtic covers over dug oot chairs. Think we going down for a 'wee chat' tomoro im meant to be renewing my season ticket I really dont want to right now!

When Paul realised about the game being on he obviously contacted the club and was assured the ground would be clear, ok fair enough. However I have thought of well will be looking out the window to see rubbish strewn everywhere, stewards clearing up whatever. I'm waiting on Paul getting back to me all he said earlier was he was told it would be taken down tonight - bullshit IMO it'll be up til Saturday and what concerns me now is will the bloody shop will be open after tha game. He has just text to say they are saying they dont know if the shop will be there ons aturday -WELL TELL THEM ITS NOT AN OPTION THEN!!!

  6. Havent read through any comments but had to come on to say that my ex's boy is getting married on Saturday and the reception is at the ground with us due to arrive around 2.45 - half an hour after the final whistle - that is bad enough - been assured all will be clear and if any of them hanging about there will be stewards there - fab - turn up in all your wedding gear to your ground and some of them could be hanging about. NOW THIS - disgrace - even without the wedding - disgrace absolutely no need!!! That sign better be covered up on Saturday - this wedding was booked WAY BEFORE any bloody celtic game!!!

EDITED TO SAY - Wee Paul who is getting married is a Saints fan (many of you will know him I realise), season ticket holder as are many of the guests going. His wife to be's family are from down south - oh come see our ground, come round here look at our bricks - BOOM - SHOCKING!!!

  7. I haven't read thru any of the posts from or after last night......I am pretty much deid inside....that was one disgrace of a game...absolute disgrace...I will renew my season ticket but right now my feelings for St.Mirren are..........MEH....just as I was finally going to go get my Saints tattoo :-(

  8. I always think that , Broadfoot played a huge part that day and in that whole relegation fight , that season , despite having signed a Bosman for that old defunct mob. .

Broadfoot was class....then went there and they hated him...arses! I always remember my pal's wee boy turning round and asking me why his dad was crying that day. Days like that ye never forget icon12.gif

  9. I appear to have something in my eye! I can't afford away games atm but I WILL be there tomoro night cos the team needs as much backing as possible - last grasp at actually been part of the fight and not just defo gone! Don't think we will see anything like that day, I'll take a scrappy 1 nil goal going in aff someone's arse!

  10. Baby showers are mad, well this one was! 14hr session half of which was a party that ended up at mine seen as the original host had to be put to her bed haha. Red red wine, shots and stealing vodka and redbull - great wee day! Mrs Broony and Mrs McGarry were on as good form as their hubbies usually are haha. Very quiet day today!!!

  11. Ffs, I'm ruff as a badgers arse this morning. Hangover actually stopping me from sleeping it off, f**k

Been a while since I've felt quite as hungover.

Heh hoh, start again later today as there's a cheeky wee Monday holiday deserving some respect.

aye just keep going if ye feel that bad haha. I don't get hangovers woohoo!!! I have yet to decide if today is a wine or whisky today tho will no doubt start with a pint :-)

I am going to my first ever baby shower - apparently the mum gets lots of pressies and it's an excuse for the rest of us to get a bit merry............ok then if I must :-)

  12. I've got a nice bottle of Washington State 'Canoe Ridge' red in the kitchen, and six bottles of Sam Adams and a couple of German Erdinger beers chilling in the fridge. They are staying put. Fcuked if I'm going to waste them 'drowning my sorrows' over St Mirren.

As Herbie alluded to in a recent post he made, he doesn't feel angry, just apathetic. Me too. Might crack open the bottle of red while enjoying a nice home-made burger next weekend, or somesuch. Not wasting it on that mob in the kiddies pirate costumes masquerading as home strips.

I agree 100% I am usually at this stage of the season giving it AAAAAH we'll do this!!! MON THE MIRREN!!! FULL OF FIGHT...................this year............MEH

  13. Dare I say that we appear to have a wee bit of fight left in us after tonight?

Suppose we will find out at Fir Park.

We always find a bit of fight against them - sad to pal tonight we play and fight then they get a goal and its game over - how many times we seen it???

If only we had played with the same commitment and organisation in earlier games as we did tonight, we might be in a safer position in the league than we are now. However we still offer absolutely no threat up front and it is hard to see where this can be improved upon - perhaps the Thommo of last season but.....

Even against the likes of Motherwell and Ross County etc. it is doubtful if we can score enough to win the points we need to stay up.

The BoD have seen to it that that we are going down - plain and simple.

EXACTLY I'd rather take the defeat we expect against that mob and save out energy fighting the teams we SHOULD be beating. St.Mirren are bloody infuriating!!!

  14. One of my Celt supporter mates over here told me he meant to go over for the game but was told the Celtic ticket allocation was sold out. Wonder if that's right? I told him he'd be safe among Saints fans but he declined to risk it. Chicken!

He should have - get his £25 then he outs himself and he gets flung oot who cares 25 quid got for the club. I remember Audrey saying a while back that it was only buses that got tickets cant mind if there had been trouble or what but it wasn't a case of just going down and buying a ticket for that end.
