Pointless. Went last year, as soon as i asked questions they didnt like the meeting was shut down, not before receiving snide comments from a smisa board member over the pa, and being rounded on by the club chairman across the floor, whilst asking a question of the Smisa committee at what allegedly was the Smisa agm.

Needs to be renamed the GLSMISA society. Its a shame really if you want to ask a question, seek clarity or challenge an organisation you are supposed to all be equal in you are a moaner. If Gordon and Smisa dont want to be held to account about how they  interfere or run smisa then they should be upfront about it and we can leave them to it.

You came out with this nonsense not long after last year's meeting and it didn't take long for those in attendance to make it clear that none of this actually happened. None of it.

He said that he asked a question which they didn't like so the meeting was shut down.  This simply did not happen.

... but... but... you said "None of it actually happened!  None of it".

He never said he  asked A question and the meeting was closed down, BUT  you just did above. So I suppose that you are right, what you just said simply did not happen

Make your mind up mate.  I was there and I can assure you, It happened.  I was shocked and said so on here at the time.

    What's your angle here?

You are wrong there Mr Jones.  There was plenty of comment and agreement. So why say otherwise?

Yeah I'm pretty disappointed with the response, seems to be a pawing off rather than offering anything direct.

If the agm is Saturday, I expect no one will be there, as we'll all be busy celebrating!

It's at 12.30, so you can make it.

Eh? None of that makes any sense whatsoever. We’d be voting on using the future £2 pot for this repayment. It’s exactly what the whole debate has been about. Haha bed time for you I think pal.

Here's the quotes from you that were missing...  you don't see anything contradictory?  Gawd help us!

The additional asks for the £2 funds are always a benefit that allows the club to concentrate money elsewhere so we wouldn’t just dip in all the time. Any future time we went in we’d have to vote accordingly.

The repayment of the £50k is from future £2 pots so in no way would it be us over budgeting

If you read and quoted my post in full instead of selected bits, it makes perfect sense.

Reading the last two pages, clearly you are getting tired and confused and it's time YOU were in bed Bud.

I’ve been around Bowling Club committees often enough to know that in this situation a dictatorship is infinitely preferable to a democracy.

All your points have been answered over this thread. Of course you’re entitled to your opinion and your vote but

no there wouldn’t need to be an additional vote, we’re all adults we know voting to use the ring fence means... using the ring fence.

The additional asks for the £2 funds are always a benefit that allows the club to concentrate money elsewhere so we wouldn’t just dip in all the time. Any future time we went in we’d have to vote accordingly.

Theres not ‘plenty of money from transfers and league position’ we’re going into a league where likely 9-10 clubs will still have a bigger budget than us.

So Bazil, please explain how thw two highlighted statements tie up?

What way is this vote putting our club even remotely at risk? It’s certainly a lot safer and cheaper way to borrow than any loan on the planet.

I think it puts Buy The Buds in jeapordy?

And this is the reason I haven’t joined SMISA. It will go pear shaped.

if there were no debate would you join?

Debate and questioning of decisions are a good thing.

Unquestioningly following those in power can lead to situations like OldCo.  Doing nothing except sniping is worse.

It states in the e-mail that I received that the money will be "reinstated" , "by committing £5,000 from each of the next nine quarterly spends – plus £5,000 available now of leftover funds which pre-date the #BuyTheBuds campaign.".

    Good enough for me.

So, the SMISA board are proposing that £50,000 of the ring-fenced funds members have been paying in to Buy The Buds be gifted to SMFC  and are then going to use the same member's £2 spend to pay that money back into the ring-fence?   GTF outta here!

Mate come on seriously? Do people really give their fellow buddies this little credit that they want two votes? 'Can we use ring fenced funds - Yes Are you sure - Oh wait no'

Putting barriers up that are really not required.

There would need to be a vote at a GM to change the agreement first, to not have that stinks...

Didn't someone think that this decision would be contentious, at least?

Without trawling over the umpteen "aye/naw" opinions, to use this money WASN'T necessary.

There's plenty funds available from transfers and promotion money, both  sources that wouldn't have been budgeted.

It's, at least, done some damage to the whole SMISA image and for what is in the bigger scheme of things, a small amount of money.

As I've said, who made this decision and didn't they thing of the possible consequences?

This ^^^^  plus our Quarterly spend will no longer be available for 2 1/2 years.  What will the Club do now for their future 'requests'?

Dip into the 'ring-fenced' funds again and again until we cannot actually But The Buds when the time comes?

    I voted NO.

Still not sure what you have against a democratic vote to ask members if they would be happy to change this. If the majority want it changed why shouldn't it happen?

    40 minutes ago, billyg said:

Unless the membership democratically votes otherwise Tony ! There's nothing underhand about this , if the proposal is outvoted , so be it !

The vote would initially have to be at a General meeting, as it is changing the terms of the agreement to buy.  Not an online vote initially.

Surely this could be put on the Agenda of the upcoming AGM?  If not possible then an EGM would need to be called.

From reading those rules, the only area it could potentially fall under is insulting, depending on your definition. As we’ve said, it is borderline. We actually went and asked on the Morton fans page on Facebook if anyone was insulted - no one said they were.

Think the only ones “insulted” are our a small minority of our own fans.

We would know if the SPFL or Morton had complained.

If this is the worst you get in 2017, you’re right in your assessment that things have improved. But if you want an environment where even banter becomes unacceptable, the atmosphere in fitba grounds will go rapidly downhill. Have a look at the PL down south. Soulless.
