No doubt
Better belonging to a club than a loan, more committed and engaged
I've never been convinced it makes any difference.
Most players are professional in attitude and play for their careers every day of their lives.
Any down of tools can finish them overnight.

Did anyone else consider as they watched those two France goals being disallowed last night that it could cost Scotland? I know after the first game it’s hard to see us getting any points, but had Germany lost 3-0 last night and then lost to Portugal by a goal or two, it would be pretty impossible for them to qualify as a best third place.
These are the daft things we need to consider now with these tournament rules. Not really because I'm not thinking about finishing third.
I'm thinking about us beating both England and Croatia and then it doesn't matter what other teams do.
If you want to talk about 3rd place, 4 points would certainly see us through IMO.
Funnily enough, we could win our last 2 games and still finish 3rd.
A narrow win for Croatia over the Czech Republic absolutely helps our cause if we want to secure 2nd place.
Realistically, if we lose tomorrow it's curtains but I don't think we will.

Time will tell when the 500 allowed are made up of various connections to the club. During the last season games there was a number of people in the stands, who were they and what connections did they have to get access. Also in a pandemic was there a real need for them to be present.
Some fans went through the same financial difficulties last year as any other business yet they still gave their money in good faith to the club. Other clubs have shown loyalty to their fans. Motherwell for example give you the decision to either take a free season ticket or pay for next years. This is a great PR stunt that was presented as a positive story.
The dummy is just dangling from the pram at the moment. My annoyance is the continual inability of the club to self promote and positively market it self.
Remember the blatant breaking of the Covid rules and how much that cost the club. Good to know that the advance season tickets helped the club pay the fine, the rearranged games and the cost of all of the additional Covid procedures that had to be put in place
Suggestion of potential wrongdoing within the club.
Comparison with Motherwell.
Complaints about marketing.
If this isn't Dickson, I'll ditch hesgoal and buy a season ticket right now.

Another own goal by St Mirren and kick in the teeth to the fans who dug deep last year to pay for single and multiple season tickets. These fans loyalty has not been reward or acknowledged by the club. The club ran a campaign to be in that number then proceeded to sell TV games cheaper than the season ticket.
After the club had the fans money they made no attempt to engage or reward these loyal fans. Even made them pay again for cup games.
Now to be teased to get a new season ticket with no new incentive other than your chance to be possibly put in a ballot for 1 of 500 does not inspire me to rush out and buy my ticket. 1 of 500 from a club that has a habit of having a rather incestuous approach to handing out the clubs wares.
Tip to SMFC treat your fans as customers and give them the respect that they are due especially when you have your hands out asking for money
Maybe I'm wrong but my spidey senses smell Stuart Dickson.
Can't put my finger on it...

Well I've taken your advice now.

But I've done it.

Enough is enough.
You can go back into my ignore list and stay there permanently.
For the sake of my f**king sanity if nothing else.

A draw may do on Friday.
A draw against England in their back yard would be an excellent result but I'm still confident we're more than good enough to beat them.

What the f**k were you watching we were f**king pish there's hardly a footballer among them England will be looking to run up a cricket score that's me a third of the way to getting my prediction right of losing every game.
Nobody cares about your endless negativity.
Have you not got your thick skull around that yet?

Agreed.
That was sore.
We deserved more... But they scored twice, we didn't. That, sadly, is the bottom line.Yeah, they were very clinical.
On another night we could have had about 4 or 5 and so could they.
We could have been watching a 5-5 draw.
Despite the result, there were lots of positives - Adams, Hanley, Robertson etc. Hopefully the nerves will have died down a bit for the players and they can cut out the negatives from here on.
Anyway, f**k it. Time to move on. We are a very long way from being out of this. Looking forward to Friday already. If we put this level of effort in again we might well give England more than enough to worry about.
I just hope the players keep themselves around positive, optimistic people and don't stray onto forums like this one. Honestly, there's nothing like Scottish football fans for draining the life right out of you with their endless negative pish.
-
Would have been easier to take if we'd been completely outplayed.
-
Tough one to take.
Sigh!
-
You can't fault the effort here.
We've done everything but score.
By far the better team but we're looking at a defeat anyway.
-
We've done OK.
Haven't done enough up front for me and in central midfield we're getting a bit over-run at times.
Players still looking very nervous which is not surprising.
Still well in this and looking dangerous when we attack - just need a bit more bite at the top end. Could and should have had 1 or 2 goals.

No. He’s obviously one of the 3 who has to be left out coz you can only name 23 players.
So him, Tierney and I cannae think who the other one is??Ah of course, I forgot that we had more than 23 players.

Unless my eyes deceive me there's no Declan Gallagher either.

Not sure if Aberdeen but there has definitely been at least one official bid tabled for him.
Don't know by whom or for how much and what level of consideration it was given but it definitely was placed and I'm guessing was rejected as I heard about it around a week ago.
Pretty sure that if the club had received an offer they would have made a statement to either tell them to bugger off or to alert other clubs to get a bidding war going. It would be odd for them to say nothing.
Mind you, I know the square root of sod all about what happens at the club so....

Not a great Scotland fan but always hope they do well of course, however I’m still unconvinced they are as good as many in the media seem to think. Having two home games out of three would normally make us favourites at any time but I cannot see where goals will come from. Clarke appears to have done a decent job so far but closer scrutiny shows we scraped through on penalties and already look unlikely to qualify for the next WC. Prepared to eat my words if we succeed but fear the worst. Fingers crossed though.
Oh for goodness sakes, it's only a game. At least we've qualified.
Just try and enjoy yourself for once without the "elvis-lite" nonsense.

I'm seeing nothing from either of these two teams to be worried about.
Game is as dull as ditchwater.

No it was showcasing the Euros not England. As I say, all the other goals were from the final, so why not show Germany’s goal against the Czech Rep?
Because Gascoigne's sickening goal was one of the best goals ever seen scored at a major tournament.
Imagine if we had scored like that against England. I guarantee we would never stop going on about it. We were talking about Gemmill's goal when we played Netherlands last week.
The pain of that Gascoigne goal will go with me to my grave. Especially after missing a penalty ourselves.

Whit?
No he isn't.
He's not particularly unfit either. He's lacking match sharpness.
He's attempting to do what no other singles player has ever done in coming back from having a new hip installed.
To even be competing at this level and winning the odd game (and a couple of tournaments as well - one singles and one doubles since his op) is extraordinary.
He said it himself. As long as he's not getting smoked by the top players he'll keep playing.
