  1. I thought Plumber was poor compared first game against Motherwell yes!

And yes I was at both games!

Never seen him against the well but against accies he looked the only player with a clue. One dodgy pass at the end of the 1st half where he put the accies player through on goal but that aside I think he looks a really good young player. In fact if we had another decent centreback (or 2) I think he would be the defensive midfielder we need.

  2. Favourite malts ( and there has been a few) got to be Old Pulteney and Glen Livet. Never bought anything other than the 12 yr olds though (well I am from Paisley). Like Islay malts but have to be in the mood.

Walking round Asdas with the wife the other day and I notice a bottle of Singleton on the shelf. I say to the wife I'm sure someone bought that for me a couple of years ago. I drank it but didnae particularly enjoy it.

    Oh really says the wife.

Xmas day I pick up the bottle wrapped in xmas paper and know immediately by the shape of the bottle its the Singleton..........

    From the wife!!!

And the moral of the story is never discuss whisky with your wife in Asdas 2 days before xmas.

  3. Despite the denials that we need a centre back, I wonder whether Zander Diamond is worth chatting to now that he seems to be without a club?

From the BBC site re his failed move from Aberdeen:

"A possible return for out-of-contract defender Zander Diamond has been dismissed following the arrival of former Panserraikos centre-half Youl Mawene.

However, Brown has sympathy with Diamond's plight after a potential move to Hearts collapsed because of concerns over an ankle.

"It's a real shame for Zander," added the Dons manager.

"He had 11 years here and doesn't deserve what's happened to him, but he'll find a club, I'm sure of that."

  4. Imagine my surprise when I realised that Darlington was 40 miles from where me and my Saints supporting mate are taking our families for a holiday  Imagine my wifes coupon when we dropped the "were going to the football on Saturday bombshell". Oh well every holiday ends up in some family arguement, it's just that this one will start with one.

Anyone know what 2 wifes and 2 children can do for a couple of hours in Darlington?

  5. St. Mirren 3 Clydebank 1 - 1977

    St. Mirren 3 Rangers 3 - 1977

    St. Mirren 4 DUFC 1 - 1977

    St. Mirren 6 Hearts 2 - 1985

St. Mirren 2 Celtic 3 - Midweek SC Cup game late 70s. Yes we lost but this game brilliant. 5 goals. 2 broken legs and 3000 locked ootside.

All of the above are absolute musts and were definitely all televised.

    :thumbs2

The cup game you are referring to. Was it pissing down with rain? I think I was at this game and seem to recall Iain Munro scoring a screamer for us.
