We'll lose. Thread started by shull. No need to concern ourselves with starting Xi's or tactics.
We never use any tactics anyway, but with ST.Mirren you just never know what the score is likely to be. Perhaps Celtic will do as they did in the LC semi-final of 2013 and take it for granted they will win.

At last a forum that gives a very much needed voice to disabled people. A massive vote of thanks must go to all that have contributed to get this going and to the St.Mirren FC

The performance from the entire team lacked conviction, any ambition and and overall was lacklustre. Having watched St.Mirren over several decades this is in my opinion the worst St.Mirren side ever, it even manages to supersede sides put out by David Hay and John Coughlin. I thought the idea of Arquin and Thomson would work with Arquin laying off the ball for Thomson. Yesterday Arquin gave an abysmal performance in the 45mins he played and despite some effort being put in by Thommo I am of the opinion he should retire and I simply do not know what's happened too John McGinn, from memory he has had 2 reasonably good performances this season, perhaps it,s the injury he collected earlier on in the season but he is nothing like the player of previous seasons and finally .I wish people would get off Cheesy,s back, sure he is not the best but is by far from the worst player we have at the moment.

SAints have told me that getting in for the rest of the season will cost me 20 pounds even though I am a season ticket holder and use a wheelchair. I am going to use my notability car on some games, but they say I cannot go on the list and I still do. not know if I can pay for individual games or go in the West gate and do you pay at the gate

I am hearing that the club has been sold and our new owners will take over at some point this week.
They are from Argentina, so get your money on the new manager being South American.
Exciting, and absolutely terrifying in equal measure.
Hold on to your hats !
Any idea when the announcement will be made this week Div

Our BOD are preparing for life and a long haul in the championship, they w already resigned themselves to the fact.
Next manager will be Teale with lower league players coming in on smaller wages.
Watch this space
I hope you are wrong about Teale being the next manager, but fear you are correct. Teale as Assistant Manager I would say is needed
If true, the BoD are misleading every fan and need to go!
I agree with you this shambolic BoD should go, but do whom do you replace them with.

Having not paid as much time as I would normally would reading the forum, Is their no sign of us making any attempt of trying to bring in a new manager outwith of GT.
-
No need to rush things. Our budget dictates the fact we cant bring in many players,if any at all so i,m more than happy to go with Gary and David. Our team seem more galvanised already and the introduction of McLear and Mallan shows our youth aint too shabby either.I watch the under 20,s often and i,m not surprised by the current crop showing their worth.A couple of auld heeds in and we will really be on the march.
Despite some excellent performances since TC sacking culminating in Saturdays win against Dundee I still maintain GT and DL are not the answer managerial wise in the long run however if a new experienced manager was to come in I would keep GT as assistant manager purely because it is unlikely the board will make any money available for new players and his dressing room knowledge would be invaluable although the new manager may be allowed some money for loan deals. The bottom line is, although we are all entitled to our opinions none of us supporters really know whats happening at board level. northendsaintsaint is correct in stating our budget dictates what happens next but we could hardly be accused of rushing things if we were to appoint a new manager no later than the middle of January.

Don,t think cheesy is all that bad, until a better player comes in I would continue playing him

It is with great dismay that my son has just informed me that both Gary Reid & Stuart Rennie have resigned as conveners of the Cocleswilson St.Mirren supporters Bus. Both are hard workers and a joy to have as Conveners. It leaves the bus with Fraser Burns as convener, the man is St.Mirren daft and more than capable of running a bus. To Gary and Stuart a massive thanks.
-
Would not be adverse to us bringing in Owen Coyle as manager rather than Barry Smith and make some money available to him to bring in some new players, but to be realistic it won't happen as we as a club are skint.
-
As a St.Mirren fan who has watched the team home and away, firstly with the Knox St junior supporters club and today with the Cockleswilson St.Mirren Supporters bus, I can honestly say that until the BOD start listening to the fans, sack Tommy Craig and get rid if his sidekicks JG and GT and put all their efforts into getting/putting some investment into the club instead of trying to sell it as priority number 1 I for one will not be back at a game.
If this BOD are finding it hard to get a buyer as a premier club, they should take into consideration of how much less they will get for the club when we are a 1st division team.
Dwindling fans, less revenue= Disaster
-
The main reason we are in so much trouble is down to the current BOD given the managerial decisions they have made over the years and their silence. I accept Gilmour originally done a remarkable job, but since the late nineties or before as chairman his decisions have been diabolical.
His main aim was to save our club, this he did, but if not careful he is going to be the man that oversees the downfall of the club, surely he has got enough sense and passion not to let this happen.
Perhaps he would be kind enough to make a statement letting us fans know whats going on, if he fails to do so he will only see less and less money coming into the club with declining attendances and I am sure he does not want that to happen.

So Alex Neil player/manager thought all of St.Johnstones goals against us should have stood, he could,nt even manage to give full credit to the Naithsmith wondergoal, adding "to be fair Main got a touch to it". I wonder about the the BBC choosing such a deluded pundit and whether he would have come out with such garbage had St.Jonstone scored goals like that against his team?
-
TC clearly holds him in high regard. He has mentioned him a number of times when talking about possible team selections. He must see something on the training ground that merits his inclusion. It would appear that in the last couple of games young Thomas might be beginning to show why the manager has faith in him.
If TC holds him in high regard then that says more about TC than Thomas Reilly, they are both useless as is a certain Stewart Gilmour who blamed Tuesday nights abysmal cup performance firmly at the feet of the players. Perhaps he and his body of cohorts on the BOD should take a good long hard look at themselves in reference to the appointment of TC as manager and the appointment of Gary Teale and Jim Goodwin as coaches. Having said that and the financial situation St.Mirren are in, unless a buyer comes in and makes a clean sweep, I'm afraid to say it's 1st Division for us.
-
I,m no fan of Tommy Craig or the sidekicks that were appointed as coaches upon Lennons contract not being renewed, but surely the ones to blame for the mess we are in and hopefully will get us out of soon are the board, Gilmour in particullar.
-
My son and myself have always supported St.Mirren and we always will. It might sound optimisticgiven our recent form but we want to be their to witness St.Mirrens first league one of the season. The last thing that is needed is for the team to run out to a meagre support, more than ever the team need us. So please be their if you can.
-
Being a St.mirren supporter we all should be used to it now, you just never know what type of performance you,re going to get on the day, who knows we might just win this one, lets hope so.

I went down to St.Mirren Ticket Office yesterday and was charged £15 for a wheelchair user and carer. Today my son phoned to ask the price for an unemployed ticket, he was advised £10, yesterday he was told £15.
St.Mirren have concluded all wheelchair users and carers are to be charged £10, so therefore they will refund me £5 and the unemployed are £10 as the website states.

Would like to see it happen however I think that Ball and Caldwell need to be given more playing time and secondly I would agree
with Div, his wage at Rangers is bound to be far more than we could manage
-
Mcgregors going too rangers with mclean
I would , up until recently agreed with this statement, but where are Rangers going to get the money from to get McLean?
-
Has anyone heard anything with regards to Danny Lennon remaining as Manager? I received a text stating that he had apparantley been dismissed, howevever until its official I remain unconvinced.
-
Through santaponsaint the matter was raised at the fans council and as a temporary measure plastic ponchos were to be ordered but at the moment new goals are needed for the dome and it appears these come first. I for one am sick and tired of waiting. Like yesterday I was all ready to go to the game against Ross County but was put off from going because I knew I would again be left sitting in the rain with no cover. On a previous occassion my carer and myself moved into the tunnel under in the West stand only to be advised by a steward that we would have to move as it was against Health and Safety rules.

A club which several of these directors put in that excellent financial position in the first place.Sadly, as previously mentioned bad managerial appointments etc. led to the erosion of our sizeable bank account. Also, they did spend money that they had.It wasn't spent too wisely though.
It was the building of the Caley stand that inflicted by far our greatest debt not our overpaying of duds, as has been pointed out previously.
I'm not bitter about it at all, although I'd much prefer that it hadn't happened in this way.I live in the present.
Almost every football club of a similar size to us has been in a similar state to us financially [some a lot worse who are to this day still in a hopeless financial state].Some have managed to drag themselves out of it by creative accounting/loans or by plain cheating or by having a millionaire white knight to bail them out. We've been fortunate enough not to have had to go down either of the first two of those routes and nobody has put themselves forward to be the third option.
It wasn't crime of the century. It was bad financial misjudgement, but then again shit happens. It was part and parcel of football in the nineties.
We've now got a modern stadium which meets our fanbase requirements and will for several years.
We may now have a modern stadium but it does not meet the needs of the fanbase in particullar the wheelchair users, who are left out in the open without cover.St.Mirren have kown about the issue for years and done nothing about it.
