  1. I cannot believe in this day and age we do not let wheelchair users and carers into games for free and provide decent facilities'. Disabled people have a hard enough time without having to contend with stupid pricing and poor facilities'.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious religion is saints, your comment is 100% accurate, charging wheelchair users is pitiful and I hope and pray that those responsible for charging wheelchair users to watch and support your team are never themselves placed in that position.

I did not want to state what you have stated as I find the prices charged for able bodied persons to get in to a game ie £20-£22 extortionate.

As stated at many an SMDSA meeting why were disabled supporters not taken into consideration when St.Mirren were having Greenhill Road built.

Their are but a few Scottish teams that provide adequate disabled facilities. As far as St.Mirren go, yes we now have a much needed voice and that is mainly due to 2 St.Mirren fans Iain Laurie and John Clark.

  2. Hibs 1(Stokes) SMFC 2(Shanks + Gallagher)......10010....McGinn sent off.

I agree with you HSS forby the bit about McGinn getting sent off, however as a St. Mirren supporter you just never no. As has been said before on the previous occasion with the game at Easter Road, we were written off before a ball was kicked yet we managed a 1-1 draw.

I think Alex Rae is slowly but surely making us a better team, although that would not have been hard following Ian Murrays record as Saints manager, my predication is it will be a draw and being optimistic rather than realistic, we may sneak a win. You can but hope.

  3. Totaly agree they are a disgrace

    And just like to

Point out that dundee utd are by far the best they give free entry to disabled and carer

Thank you billymehmet1 I agree with you 100%, Hibs are a disgrace. With regards to the point you raised about Dundee Utd, they are 1 of a select few that used to charge and as far as I am aware still do, plus you have to be escorted by a steward outside the ground to the disabled toilets, the last time I was up at Dundee Utd,s ground, that was when we were in the SPFL, they were in the process of changing the position of the toilets, this entailed them moving them to where the snack bar was and sticking a disabled sign on a toilet door, a door you could not get a wheelchair in, hopefully this was only temporary anyway we will see soon enough as both St.Mirren and Dundee Utd are likely to be in the same league next season. The prices Scottish Clubs charge in all leagues ranges from £0 - to £12 this to me is acceptable as it includes the price of a carer and given the standard price for an abled bodied adult in the championship is £20-£22. The main difficulty SMDSA are facing at the moment is cover for the disabled. Our own club, despite getting to the stage where plans were being drawn up for disabled cover, progression is at a standstill to the best of my knowledge. As a temporary measure last season and until now the Fans Council did pay for and provide ponchos. The best club in Scotland for the provision of disabled facilities, including cover, clean and well adapted toilets, free entry for wheelchair users and their carers etc... are Rangers. To date SMDSA are doing their upmost to have permanent cover provided.

  4. Again Hibernian FC are charging Disabled people (Wheelchair) users the highest price for entry to the game. They charge is

the highest entry fee in the whole of Scotland. That combined with the highest price that people have to pay for a pie & Bovril.

It is little wonder when they have administration problems for the disabled. Not once in numerous times I have went through, excuses include the tickets not being valid, blaming St.Mirren for cancelling them, refusing to allocate other ones on the day, putting you in with Hibs supporters etc... etc.. A few years ago I remember a young man with downs syndrome not being classed disabled, fortunately some buddies clubbed together and purchased a full priced adult ticket for the man.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS HIBERNIAN FOOTBALL CLUB ARE THE WORST IN SCOTLAND FOR THE WAY THEY TREAT DISABLED PEOPLE.

  5. I note that the Charlton Captain J Jackson has got all the players together in order they reimburse the fans of the club that travelled through to support their team against Huddersfield, as Charlton played disgraceful football. By that order I wonder if our captain Thommo would consider doing the same. Mind you if he did get the players together to do the same the

St.Mirren team would owe us a fortune.

  6. It has been said before but their is absolutely no way I am prepared to give up my (season ticket) disabled seat in the West stand for any of the old firm supporters.

It is a dilemma for the club, but one which might give immediate gain but in the long run have disastrous consequences for the club, for instance how do you convince kids in the future to support St.Mirren, when all they need to answer is "well you allowed Rangers supporters almost you're entire ground in the hope they won the Scottish Championship". Its hard enough just now trying to get young ones to support us at present.

The other problem I see is the allocation of 3 seats for disabled people, particularly as St.MIrren do not keep a list of seats allocated to Disabled People. Finally is where would you place the disabled supporter with viewing problems, that has to be seated in row 2. Until SMDSA got involved St.Mirren insisted to qualify for disabled status and therefore reduced prices the person had to sit in the front row.

For me its a no. Not only would it cause numerous problems allocation and future supporter wise, its immoral.

  7. Agreed. I don't really expect to win on Friday, Thistle are a good side who are playing exceptionally well right now, but I do expect us to give them a game.

I'd love to win and get on a cup run but the absolute priority for me anyway is the league and getting as high up as we can. Personally if I was offered the choice of winning one or the other between Friday and next weekend at home to Raith I'd take the 3 points.

Maybe we can win both thumbup2.gif

I agree with you in almost all what you say. The part I disagree with you about is that "I do not expect St.Mirren to win", they have got the talent and slowly but gradually the philosophy of winning is returning. I know that we have played only 3 games with Alex Rae in charge. The game against Alloa, I largely discount, as he was only in the job for less than 24hours but his presence on the sideline perhaps helped. The team let him down badly against Livingston but with the appointment of David Farrell, the winning formula is slowly returning. David Farrell and Alex Rae work well together and maybe your right in that you do not expect us to win, my view is different I expect Saints to win as I do every time they put on the Black & White stripes or the away strip of Red.

  8. Jordan Stewart should come in at left back and let Kelly move further forward as he is hopeless as a defender but the only attacking left sided player we have. Goodwin, Naismith and Mallan will all get a game when fit. But besides that all other positions are up for grabs.

It would not have mattered today if we had all the subs on, to give us 14 so called players on the pitch against Livvy,s 11, we would still have got humped. As Shull put it, this lot of St.Mirren players do not deserve to be putting on the clubs shirts.

Collectively as well as each and every one of them are a disgrace.

  9. LPM

Are you referring to an article written in yesterdays PDE whereby Alex Rae is talking about bringing in an assistant, namely David Farrell and he states if he does not get an assistant it would put additional pressure on David Longwell, but being in the job for only 3 days, he would have to see what happens? or is it I have grasped the wrong end of the stick?

You certainly have got me and no doubt plenty of other contributors/readers of this forum baffled, especially as the OP is talking about the scratch cards. Please enlighten me? or if LPM does not want to answer can any other forum members/readers respond?
