Where's he going and don't tell me pastures new.
Shrewsbury Town

All going well Billy signing ahead of next week's home game, will give everyone connected with our club another huge lift.
This seems to be the rumour that's going round, apparently Billy Mehmet is signing on Monday. Its also supposed to mean that John Sutton would also sign a temporary contact, around 6 months before the end of January. Trouble as I can see it, is that it was Brian Caldwell who had made arrangements for Billy Mehmet to come in, John Sutton I an unsure about. Also to be taken into consideration does Alex Rae want either of the said players, and has Brian Caldwell already completed the paperwork for at least Billy Mehmet

Despite Gilmour spouting rubbish at the AGM with regards to taking time to appointment a manager and an experienced one at that and Brian Caldwell leaving, it all doesn't matter because Alex Rae is the new manager like it or not, because the St.Mirren fans will get behind him and give Alex Rae and the team all the support needed.
To Alex Rae
I wish you all the best as St.Mirren manager and I hope you succeed in turning round St.Mirrens abysmal performances and fortunes over the past few seasons.
-
Welcome aboard Alex, might be best if you zip up that thick skin and get ready for a shed load of seethe. And that's before you set foot in the dugout.
Is that before he gets the away changing room repainted and switches dugouts
-
I hope it is not true as well, nevertheless its St.Mirren I supportI hope you are at the windup? Good luck to him, if true, but hardly inspiring!
-
Who knows? Nothing on official website or Twitter feed! (2030 Thurs!)
Thanks

Straight forward question is Alex Rae the new manager of St.Mirren FC or not?
-
Its like rats leaving the sinking ship. Brian Caldwell was instrumental in sounding out new players who may come to the club. Thommo and Gary Teale to name just two. The relationship with SMDSA and himself was crucial and with this announcement I only can only hope that the removal of press seats and the building of a platform for the disabled in the main stand is not put on hold.
-
The painting of the dressing room and changing back the dugouts to Away & Home as you look at them from the west stand would be something that could be achieved pretty quickly as for getting rid of the sh**ty footballers we have playing in the current first team at the moment, will take a bit longer, anyway it will be down to the new manager who comes and goes.

Games in charge as manager 97
Number of wins 42
Number of Draws 22
Number of Defeats 33
Win % 43.29
Alex Rae's Record as Dundee manager from May 2006 - October 2008
A reasonable record but is still a bit inexperienced. At this moment in time I believe he is Assistant to Alex McLeish at Ghent

If they're planning to put folk in the press room so they can watch the game then they'll need to knock through another wall so folk can see the game as there's no windows looking out onto the pitch along that side of the stand.
My understanding is that where the press are seated presently in the main stand, a platform holding 10 wheelchair is going to be built. There would be railings at the front, however these would be set at a height whereby all wheelchair users and their carers
would have full view of the pitch. The best way to describe it, is what's in place at Hearts at the moment. The platform would only be for home season ticket holders. Maybe in the future bus type shelters would be placed at the 2 corners of the ground for away disabled support.

I can remember when pulling on a St.Mirren strip meant something. I wish some of the dud players we have at the moment would take this into consideration. Any new manager coming in will not only have to put out a team that wins games at times but also put out a team that is going to play with some desire and passion for the club.
-
The pairing you mentioned Stuart(Calderwood & Nicholl) would be ideal in my eyes however whoever is chosen would be a gamble ,but with the 2 names mentioned you would be reducing the gamble, at least in the short term, albeit in the case of Calderwood and Nicholl they may want it written into any contracts given "that if we keep St.Mirren in the championship this season a further full season is given". This in my opinion would be acceptable.
As I said before most names put forward by the bookies are ones that would be a gamble. The BOD,s will take the ultimate decision and I doubt it very much if the fans views would be taken into consideration.
-
My money is on Calderwood.
-
Seem its you shull, its done
-
Contained within the article the BOD,s have confirmed that both Alex Miller and Jamie Langfied will be in temporary charge. Your disaster seems to have happened.

I was unable to attend yesterdays game, so I am unable to comment on any personal abuse directed towards Murray, but any type of personal abuse directed towards Murray is in my book unwarranted. Like many a St.Mirren fan I very much wanted rid of Murray as manager, but not at the expense of bringing in Miller, as I fully expect the BOD,s will do. The entire scenario holds many types of similarities to the BOD,s decision prior to not renewing Danny Lennons contract then stabbing him in the back and appointing Tommy Craig, who rather like McCoist of Rangers, is on gardening leave and thus is still receiving wages from the club. Now do not get me wrong I wanted the BOD,s not to renew Danny Lennons contract and sack Tommy Craig, what with hindsight being a wonderful thing had I known the BOD,s had planned to bring in Craig as a replacement for Lennon I would certainly have been against it. In know way am I advocating the return of Danny Lennon as manager but like many, if not all a St.Mirren supporter I would not have a clue who to appoint as manager, whoever it is, is going to have to be a very good manager.
As I said before I fully expect Alex Miller to be appointed interim manager and hopefully he will manage to keep us in this league, with a more permanent manager appointed in the summer, one that is able to get us promotion to where we belong in the SPFL.
NB THE PLAYERS ARE A BIG PART OF OUR DEMISE AND IN NO WAY BLAMELESS
-
Thanks for the input lads, it is not as clear cut as was made out to me.
-
Apparantley, and I have not seen it, in todays PDE Murray is to depart should we lose.
-
Ian Murray should have been sacked long ago, as it was clear the man was not up to the job, perhaps the BOD,s due to financial constraints could not. Not being ITK with the clubs finances whether this was the case or not I cannot comment.
-
A new stadium built, you would have thought that the clubs disabled supporters would have been taken into consideration, with regards to cover. Instead there was nothing done. Eventually over time SMDSA came into being and have had to battle all the way and indeed have made some progress. At the last meeting Brian Caldwell was supposed to turn up and give us a firm date on when cover for the disabled will be carried out, unfortunately he had other commitments which took priority. It makes the whole issue of cover all the more disturbing if indeed monies were handed back to Tesco.
To date SMDSA have achieved much good work, but the most important issue i.e. cover for the disabled has still not taken place and until it is I for one will not believe it.
-
I am willing to bet their would not be mixed sections of crowd if it were a Rangers v Celtic cup tie or even if it were in the league.
-
There is know way that either the current BOD,s would want Danny Lennon back as manager nor should they. Taking all into consideration i.e...... that he was good with the young players, he won us the league cup, he was gentleman etc. etc. ........
The fact is he always had us in the bottom 6 of the SPFL, he was disapproved of by many a St.Mirren fan and I include myself in that, he signed to many dud footballers etc. etc........
At the moment I have nothing but distain for Murray and want him sacked asap, but Danny Lennon is not the answer.

Hopefully Season Tickets will be valid for all Section Matches.
Hopefully a Tenner will be the maximum price for others ( Adults )
Otherwise attendances will be shite.
Doubt it Iain. Once again it is the supporters that'll be hit in the pocket

I agree with you in part lovestreet but would not like to see Goodwin or Webster leave at the moment. Thommo has been a great servant to the club however I do not think he has ever got over that injury he had last season, and you could tell by his expression whilst being a pundit he was devastated we got relegated but he is a St.Mirren player and supporter through and through, I'm convinced he will hang up his boots but not till the end of the season.
