  1. Eric Black, Terry Butcher, Billy Davis, Duncan Ferguson, Gary McAllister, Billy McKinlay I believe are all available and looking for a new challenge. (I may be wrong)

Guy's like Billy Davis have win ratios in the 40 % plus range at several clubs - 4 times better than Murray

I'd bet that even if his salary was 4 times Murray's - it would bring in far more than he'd cost via success and larger crowds!

Their is no way that Billy Davies would either become manager or be offered it even at 4 times Murrays wage. Such a move by the BOD,s to first of all pay Murray off and the compensation that this would entail, plus the money we would have to invest in wages alone to get Billy Davis would make it impractical, however he may appeal to some.

Their is but 2 of the above names you suggest might be worth a punt as manager that I would perhaps go along with you and once again I don,t see either being offered the job that is once we have one to offer.

  2. Earlier on, on this thread Isle of Bute Saint stated that we were clutching at straws in who would be our next manager, I could not agree more, yet its completely understandable to guess who would/should be our next manager giving the present incumbent. Numerous names have been mentioned, with the front runner appearing to be Gus McPherson. I really don,t think Gus McPherson is the answer and I would seriously doubt the BOD,s would have him back, given his arrogant behavior when he was manager that combined with the fact that since leaving us his record as the manager of other clubs has been less than impressive.Danny Lennon who would cost us some compensation to get him, the way the BOD,s stabbed him in the back by not renewing his contract and appointing his assistant the next day and although he won us the Scottish League Cup and at one point took us to our highest league position, he also failed to keep to his word, stating he would have us a top 6 side in his tenure as manager, his record in the transfer market was deplorable, and he too has done very little since leaving St.Mirren, currently the Manager of Part-time Alloa who sit bottom of the Scottish Championship.Tom Hendrie would be my choice however as has been said prior that,s us going back and clutching at straws.Plus at times he did not exactly endear himself with other club managers and caused the BOD,s a great deal of embarrassment, I also cannot remember if he went through with taking St.Mirren to an industrial tribunal.

In my opinion, and I have said it before, the club will promote from within, and give Alex Miller the manager-ship till the end of the season, hopefully the BOD,s will then be in financial a better position, and give the job of manager to a manager with more than experience than Murray and who was until recently manager of side that managed to leak in 79 goals.

  3. If we don't get a decent result on Saturday I'll be voicing my opinion .

I'll wait to the final whistle though and give the team as much support as I can muster during the 90 mins .

I'd imagine the majority of supporters have now had it with Murray .

Hopefully he's nearing the end of his time in charge .

That's fair, would agree with you.

  4. If Ian Murray is still in charge for this game we should start at chant of "Murray must go" commencing in the 9th minute lasting until the 13th, as these minutes represent his initials.

I cannot see that doing any good, as it will not be Murray that suffers, it will be the team. It also gives the opposing team a boost, and the last thing we want including yourself, is to see our beloved St.Mirren lose or draw.

  5. Its now Wednesday the 2nd of December, if their was going to be any move by the BOD,s to get rid of " Mr Ian arrogant Murray it would have been done by now. I am almost certain that Murray will be at the helm for, at least the next 2 possibly 3 games, whether we win, lose or draw these games.

Its also obvious to me that the BOD,s have decided to ignore the supporters plea,s that Murray be sacked, and say nothing, not even that they are not in a financial position to sack Murray.

  6. To be fair, getting rid of said managers IS what a lot of Saints fans wanted at the time.....

You are 100% correct and I fully admit I was one of them, what I am saying with regards to Danny Lennon, is although I and many others wanted him to go, the way he was got rid of was deplorable and had I others known the BOD,s had planned to replace him with Tommy Craig, the BOD,s would have learnt the supporters did not want this. I stated before that if Danny Lennon was no longer to be the manager, the last thing I wanted was Tommy Craig.

I do not wish to see the back of the current board but I do wish they would make their current position clear with regards to the Ian Murray situation.

  7. If we were to win both the Queen of the South and Dumbarton matches then all what has been said by us the St.Mirren supporters with regards to requesting Ian Murray is sacked goes out the window and I can then see a statement from the BOD,s saying that they were right all along to stick with Ian Murray. Although they will word it differently.

All the dismal performances prior will seemingly be forgotten. It appears to me that is the BOD,s wishes

Whilst I originally supported the appointment of Ian Murray, I and I assume many other St.Mirren supporters will find it hard to forget the past and what Ian Murray has put us through.

Even if he was to win the next 2 games I would still be of the opinion he is sacked, which undoubtedly he will not be, after all the BOD,s did not appear to take a blind bit of notice when we were losing, and they definitely will not do so if we begin to win games.

It appears another risk, because if he reverts back to losing games, it will then be too late to appoint another manager.

It is a real quandary, on the one hand I wish to see the back of Murray, whilst at the same time I want St.Mirren to win.

  8. From my point of view the Board of Directors have put into the club monies, monies that I am unaware of could under the same circumstances have been gleamed from elsewhere unless we were willing to see the complete demise of St.Mirren Football Club, their is also no question about the facilities we now have via them like the training ground at Ralston of which is to be applauded.

Then we come to the numerous mistakes made by the BOD,s, like the non-investment or the lack of consideration for any disabled facilities at the new ground and although this is being addressed, I'll wait with baited breath till it actually happens, the money gambled and wasted to get rid of managers in the past few years. Although Danny Lennon's contract was not renewed the way and manner the BOD,s got rid of Lennon means they should hang their heads in shame, the compensation that was paid too Tommy Craig and I do not know for sure but suspect money was wasted on Gary Teales appointment, these are but a few examples.

All we St.Mirren fans are asking of the Board is to sack Ian Murray or for the BOD,s to enlighten the numerous loyal supporters of St.Mirren of the current managerial situation, as far as I am aware no such statement on the managerial situation has been made by them.

The previous good work done by the BOD,s has and is currently being undone by Ian Murray. Surely the BOD,s can see crowds diminishing week after week, shop sales going down, even the offer of half priced season tickets, which I believe is forthcoming, will gain little or nothing in money for the club and the performances given by the team, which are dire and this under the managerial guidance of Ian Murray.

So, once again I ask the Board to please sack Ian Murray or at least make a public statement on the current managerial situation. Saying and doing nothing by the BOD,s is giving rise to discontent. At the moment this is an understandable feeling and is why there is some disrespect towards our BOD,s

NB I'll still and always will continue to support St.Mirren Football Club

  9. Might be an issue with Gus working with David Longwell, did they not have a massive fall out ?

I know that Gus McPherson and Brian Caldwell had a spat over Mo Camaras contract. With Brian simply reminding Gus McPherson that if Camara played one more game for us it would mean St.Mirren had to keep him on as a player until the end of the season costing us money in extra in wages for him and as the player was only used sparingly and had not lived up to any type of potential perhaps it would be an idea for McPherson to terminate Camaras contract now and certainly before the next game. McPhersons reply was of a rather curt nature stating he was the manger and would make these type of decisions alone, he did not need to any help or to be reminded of the T & Cs of Camaras contract.

I would not rule out McPherson or Hendrie being willing to return as manager, I certainly would back the appointment of either, but I think it very unlikely, however as both class of 76 - 77 and TopCat have said our next appointment will be internal and in my opinion around Christmas time, Alex Miller will be appointed interim manager.

  10. Goals are not everything although they are important, anyway some of the goals he has scored have been against teams in lower leagues combine that with poor distribution, his inability to control the ball at times and how easy he is put off the ball by an opposing player. Yes I know its his first season that is why I said at the moment it would be a bad move for him and the club at the moment, who knows if he what would happen if he moves in January but in my opinion he's not ready yet.

  11. If Mallan moves on in January it would be a bad move for the club and himself, purely because the boys not ready for any move, forby his free kicks which are excellent and have saved us a few times this season, his overall contribution is below par, which says a lot when he is deemed by some St.Mirren fans to be our best player, that and at the moment any money got in a move from us is likely to see us getting between £50,000 - £75,000.

  12. One of the Cockleswilson Bankhouse St.Mirren Supporters bus members is working tonight at a concert by Simple Minds. The supporting act is none other than a man with a simple mind in Mr Ian "arrogant" Murray followed by another support group named Simple Minds as well or as they are more commonly known as The St.Mirren Football Club BOD,s.

Perhaps the first supporting act should actually be called The totally clueless simple mind, and the 2nd supporting act to be named the No balls BOD,s simple minds.

  13. The reality is you aren't ITK in the slightest and you're just making all this up

Everytime I open this thread I really hope too read that "Mr Ian arrogant Murray" has been sacked, but everytime I am disappointed. This time, as the last post was written by TopCat and he being one of the more sensible members of this forum my hopes were raised, but yet again they were dashed.

  14. As per usual our 'sit back and do nothing BOD,s will keep preserving with Mr Ian 'arrogant' Murray as Manager, this despite him admitting on radio in his post match comments, that the teams first half performance was the worst he had in his opinion seen. Still according too Murray the 2nd half with Morgan and McLear upfront and having 5 development players on we were much better, these players, despite although having no height, are fast and nippy. he will continue in training to get it right because we are not far off being a top half team.

All season long he " Mr Ian arrogant Murray " has been telling us St.Mirren fans that we are not far off getting things on the pitch right and after a few months or less we the fans have been saying Murray is the wrong man for us and the BOD,s need to sack him. As far as I can make out, and I am not in the know, I see no evidence of this.

In my opinion the BODs are less than useless, the good work originally done by them is being eroded and Murray is adding more misery upon the club, by dragging the club down. Why are this BOD,s letting this happen, the old excuse of having no money is past it's sell by date. Everyone is acutely aware we are not by any means the richest club in the Scottish Championship.

So unless Murray is dismissed forthwith we as a club will, and I really hope not, be in the relegation play-offs.

  15. This duo would not be my choice, although to be fair I would struggle to know which front players should start. McMullan has certainly got pace however in my opinion he comes across as a greedy sort of player even when he could lay the ball off to another player better placed he does not do so. He also fails to use this pace and win the ball back when on the numerous occasions he loses the ball, having said that perhaps its his style of play which is incompatible to the St.Mirren style of play (Nobody does know what, if any, style of football we do play at the moment and that includes Mr Ian "arrogant " Murray), his play in my opinion is similar to that of Greg Wyldes, albeit McMullan is certainly more pacy, who has been a good acquisition for Plymouth Argyle.

Thommo is one of the few players passionate in his play for St.Mirren although he is probably having his worst season for us, I think he knows that the rubbish style of football we are playing combined with his age and the injuries he has sustained over his career has all but finished his career earlier than he thought, although I respect the man very much and would be happy to call him a legend but their is no room for sentimentality in football. Any appearance's he makes for us this season, which I see as his last, will be minimal and from the substitutes bench.

To end, I really cannot see much, if any change, to the team that played against Raith Rovers in midweek.

  16. Yes gate will be halved minus costs, so it's a good pay day for the club. I guess there will be minimum of 20k there paying an average of 10 quid say... So yeah will be in the region of 100 grand for the club.

Wonder what we are going to spend that on...

Here is hoping the BOD,s will at last see some sense and hopefully have sufficient funds to dismiss Mr Ian "arrogant" Murray immediately.

  17. Does last nights draw against Raith Rovers mean that Mr Ian "arrogant" Murray will now be given more time as Manager?

Whilst the point is to be welcomed, I for one, sincerely hope its not the case that Mr Ian "arrogant" Murray is given more time as manager. From my point of view it does however re-inforce the point made by many on other threads on this site, that it will be Christmas 2015 before he either leaves voluntarily, which I doubt very much, or the BOD,s grow a pair and sack him.

  18. Even some diehards still liked Tommy Craig which was surprising but they are not saying the same about Ian Murray.

I have never know a St Mirren manager to be as unpopular, if we lose tonight then he has to be sacked, I was told he was being sacked yesterday by a source but this didn't happen unfortunately.

Whatever you post on here about Murray and his unpopularity, our BOD,s will not take any heed. It is after all only the majority of St.Mirren supporters that want him to go. I liked many hoped you were right Flareybob and Murray would be sacked.

I have watched Saints from the early 60,s and their has certainly been a few dire managers that played teams that were uninspiring to see the least, but in my opinion their has never been a St.Mirren manager as poor and as unpopular as Murray, plus you have got to take into consideration the facilities that were not available to the other crap Managers.

  19. It used to be the case that when St.Mirren were having a torrid time, every so often you were able to predict them getting it right and winning the game, however with the dross we have as a playing squad, a 1st team that contains a few players that have the desire and compassion needed to be a St.Mirren player, the majority do not have any of these or the skill to win, a completely inept manger who wouldn't know a tactic if he was to bump into one, that is if the tactic was an object, who, if he showed remorse instead of arrogance and had even a little dignity about him would leave, although it is likely Murray will only go if sacked and a BOD,s that simply will not listen to their support, are content to see the support for the club dwindle because they know that they already have the money to see the season through, whist hoping they are bought out and are prepared to preside over a ground that will have little atmosphere, not that it has much now, as less and less home support turn up including the St.Mirren BOD,s,. There will always be some who go, and for that I applaud them . Its only because I've got a season ticket I'm attending some home matches. But until Murray goes, and the club is put on the correct footing, these matches I do attend will get fewer and fewer.
