  1. Like it was at the three public meetings you mean ?

That was when everything looked rosy , REA and his representative on here couldn't wait to get in among us and tell us all the positive things that were just around the corner!

Would you be in the least surprised if everything Yul is spouting is in fact true , 'cos I wouldn't be surprised at all.

For one , I know for a fact that the McGeoch "note of interest" has gone much further than that , yet we're all kept in the dark.

  2. Disappointing to wait all this time for Yul to reappear and all we get is exactly the same allegations with zero substance and zero facts that we have seen posted a hundred times before.

To be fair , the substance and the facts should have been gleaned before now from the people that asked for everyones bank details ?

  3. ... getting their loans to the club repaid when Love Street was sold is surely something different from the board cashing in big / profiting / getting a nice return from the sale. It is hardly surprising the money they were owed by the club was settled at the same time as the bank debts and other debts when it was widely publicised that the reason for selling Love Street was to deal with the club's debts.

Only now it's different , as the £2m paid for 52% of the club would be clear profit , yes?

  4. Original quotes on the subject of the board and the profits from the sale of Love Street were in these paragraphs from somner9:

"The selling consortium are ultimately responsible for dragging the club and support through all this. They should have realised if something looks too good to be true (getting £2m for half smfc) then it almost cetainly is too good to be true. Now the sellers have snookered themselves, as 10000 hours can't complete and they have tied themselves up in companies and allsorts with them. i don't feel any sympathy towarsd the sellers they saw the chance to cash in big again (Don't forget they will have seen a nice return on the sale of Love street) and were blinded to the obvious downsides of association with a group of amateurs who honestly believed they could go about the process in reverse".

That post suggests that the board "cashed in big" when they sold Love Street for £10m or £12m depending which figure you go with, and that some of Tescos millions went to the board members personally rather than repaying the bank debt or meeting the costs of 1) building the new ground at Greenhill Road, 2) demolishing the ground at Love Street 3) paying some of the costs of building the new training ground and 4) meeting some of the debts from the clubs running costs since the sale of Love Street. (SG said the money from the semi final and final cup runs, sale of McGinn etc went on finishing off the training ground and making up for the financial losses in the 2008/9, and 2009/10 seasons and said the idea that the club was still sitting on unspent millions left over from the Tesco deal was a fallacy).

Somner9 has yet to provide any evidence the board received any money from the sale of Love Street or profited from the sale on a personal level.

It is widely known that BOD members recouped their personal outlays from the sale of Love St , I'm pretty sure they even came out before the sale and indicated that they would be taking what was owed to them !huh.png

  5. Correctomundo.

That is why we need not pay attention to this Animal character and his numerous aliases.

So you'll agree with Sid and his numerous aliases and recommend that everyone else does too , just cos it suits your agenda ?

    Aye very good !

  6. I was at Rugby Park over 30 years ago and we hit Killie for six.

I broke my leg when I fell on the terracing celebrating that day , f**kin agony it was , I put my hand down to feel it where it hurt and the bone was through the skin ! :-( Still , I watched the rest of the game , was helped onto the bus , went to the RAI at 6pm , and Fraser Marie's sister signed my stookie ! :)

ETA Just looked at the stats there , our victory yesterday means it's 68 victories each in all competitions since the first time we played each other in 1899.

  7. an exclusive venue for a cultured punter. f**k letting a bunch of schemie 20 year old non-saints fans in the hospitality suite.

Yeah , cultured punters who were collectively pished, went to their rooms and forgot to pay me , some of the guests then chipped in and gave me the dosh ! <_<

Some of the guys on here are out of touch beyond belief with what actually goes on at your average function , and who actually causes most of the problems. The club would do well financially from hosting parties and trouble would be a rare event !

  8. Folk who think that holding birthday parties on a regular basis in the function suite won't have an adverse effect on the facility are poorly researched. If the club allow any old function in the current suite it becomes just that, any old function suite.

Really , I did a party recently in Ross Priory , Loch Lomond , a pretty exclusive venue , much more so than SMP . Can't see Ross Priory being in the category of " any old function suite" ?

  9. Over 50% of 18/21 birthday parties end up with police called, stay well clear.

I've done around twenty 21st birthday parties this year and I've yet to see the polis. Most 21sts are fine , with the guests having a good time before heading out to the late night clubs.

  10. I could be wrong but...........was he not named in the team to play ,St J but got a heavy doing at a ,Glasgow bus stop the night before the game?

Yeah John , that's John Baird you're talking about , the subject of the thread , others for some reason , are talking about Alan Reid !

  11.

It was Gus who signed him for St. Mirren in the first place. :1eye

Gus had never seen him play , he was signed on the say so of Andy Millen who knew him from his Clyde days. Well done Bairdy for getting it right up the clueless wee scrote ! :)

  12. Does anyone know what affiliation the company Douglas Street Limited have to St Mirren
