Still a raw talent when he left us, but how many kids left a team like Saints and all but walked into Leeds 1st team?  even Jordan had to bide his time a little longer.

Spot on Chris , I'm glad we lived through the period where the difference between the top of Scottish football and the peak of the English game was minimal. Big G played for us  in 72/73 against Stranraer , Stirling , Brechin and Berwick , and played in a European Final v AC Milan the same season.

Greg Kiltie is a weird one as Mainstand Sweary Mob says.  He was obviously brought in to be a replacement for Jamie McGrath, then Jamie McGrath didn't leave initially and Greg wasn't getting a decent run in the team.  Then McGrath left to go down South and I just feel Greg Kiltie's St. Mirren career has been very stop/start.  He's not getting into the team for on a regular basis to go on a run of games in order to gain confidence and momentum so I think he may also be in the same situation as Jay Henderson.

Kiltie has just signed a new deal though !

  3. Small is 18 years old , he got nutmegged a minute before , and the red mist came down . FWIW I think he's got a big future in England , when he was out on loan last year he was described as "not strong enough" , he's bulked up since then , and with a calmer head growing up , I'm sure he'll be fine , Miovski's a diving , bleating cheat anyway !

    SMiSA Update on RCGF Application

    Rumbling along

SMiSA to ask Club board and AW for their thoughts

Yes , that what over 75% of those attending asked the Smisa board to do  , so they're following the process. I don't know what AW and his cronies are proposing , but Kibble are here for the long haul , be it with the current two on the BOD or others. Bottom line is , the Smisa membership voted overwhelmingly to speed up the process by allowing them  to purchase GS's shares , so we're stuck with it , for good or bad !

City’s exploits may well count for nothing depending on the outcome of the financial fair play investigations.

We'll find out in around 10 years , as City are now questioning the legality of the charges , and will go to court to defend that position.

Yes Billy, I have noticed quite a few cringeworthy quotes from AW and ( I can only assume) his friend in the press who claimed AW was known by many as Mr., Saint Mirren - many of us have been supporting the Saints for 50 plus years and if anyone has ever heard of any individual being named as such I’d be very surprised, I certainly have never heard anyone being given that title.

"Mr Empty Cider Flagon" , I've heard of him ! 🤣

Sitting watching the championship playoff and a team like Patrick Thistle have digital advertising hoardings if they can have these why haven’t we got them as it allows for many more adverts yes there maybe initially an installation cost but sure the revenue stream with loads more adverts for companies outweighs this.

We will have them next season ,at least along the front of the main stand .

Are you just ignoring the fact we are nearly £2 million in debt.
Agreed £1.2 million is interest free but still equates to 1 first team player each season and we have a BOD that budgets for us finishing 7th.

We're £1m in the black and will announce a profit for this year , we're fine  !

  9. We even had the cringeworthy moment towards the end when AW said , pointing at the Kibble guys , he's a Celtic fan , and he was an Airdrie fan and now supports Rangers , while I've always been a St Mirren fan. It was the last attempted hurrah of a defeated man who thinks he's more important than he actually is. The bottom line is , the Kibble guys aren't going away any time soon , "they have no intention of selling their shares"! Last night was a wasted exercise when the questions from the attendees started, although Alex Dillon did very well in controlling it , and John Needham gave detailed responses to everything that was asked of him. Hopefully we can put this to bed now and concentrate on club matters like keeping the manager , and sorting out the Academy !

So when did it become compulsory for Board members to all be St Mirren fans ? I don't care if there are some non-fans on the BOD as long as the club are benefitting from their input.  That was the small time attitude in the 70s too when the club , under Fergie , outgrew the Todd/Corson regime. If board members can help make a successful club , why do they have to be fans of the club too ? We should always have some "St Mirren men " on the board but I always welcome some diversity , it works at forward thinking non-insular clubs !

That makes no sense at all. Wardrop was already on the board and resigned. If he wanted to spout anti-kibble stuff and sit with his own agenda surely staying on the board would have been an easier place to be.

I suspect he resigned in order to join up with his mates and make an assault on Kibble from the outside , it makes perfect sense !
