  1. Big Mehmet is enjoying his football now, he'll get one today at least :P

I see there is a quote from him in today's Daily *** regarding wanting a meeting with Gus to discuss his contract. Could be a short meeting if and when it takes place. Sorry BM but I think your wage would be better spent on someone who can actually score regularly. I am sure he is a nice guy but he is not the answer if we want to progress in the SPL.

  2. Porcupine Tree - Deadwing

    Opeth - Ghost Reveries

Depeche Mode - Playing the Angel

    Riverside - Second Life Syndrome

    Dark Suns - Existence

ps Arctic Monkeys are simply another over-hyped and shit band. Heard their album and it is rank - done by 1,000,000 other wannabee bands around Central Scotland and not as good.

  3. Buddy, I remember a certain player who came from a diddy club who became a Saints legend. Step forward Mark Yardley who came from Cowdenbeath and many thought he could not do a job at 1st div level. Stay true to the belief that the club are going forward and we should judge the new guys once they settle in. If JS does the job I want you to come on this forum and eat humble pie and if he does not then I will be the first to admit you were right.

  4. Buddy great for the first time I am going to say "you are talking shit" I have 3 Rangers fans in here who are pissed off that Adams has been allowed to go to us as they rave about just how good he is. They have been saying "he should be given a game as he is a true talent"

Why don't you just - for the first time - let the players come in and prove or disprove what you say? Feckin negative crap is pissing me off and no wonder players have a hard time settling when we are snapping at them before a ball is kicked. Just for the record, give me 2 names that you think could and should have been brought in? None of the stupid remarks like Owen or whatever.

I think both signing are exciting and JS has proved he can put the ball in the net. For the Record, there are a lot of major problems at Millwall affecting a lot of players and you do not become a bad player overnight. JS will score the goals for us.

  5. I find it interesting that some feel that Jeffries will be given the hump at Killie. This is a team that have just beat Aberdeen away and then humped Motherwell 4-1. So, on what grounds would Killie sack their manager? Tosh as usual. McPherson is going nowhere and in any case he has not yet proven his own credentials as a manager and certainly nowhere near good enough at this moment to manage or be considered for an SPL club.

  6. Agree BG, Millen would be an ideal sweeper, particularly at his age when is clearly going to feel the pace played out of position.

Like last season, I will wait until the first 9 games are played to make my own opionion of how well I think the team will do. My only concern is that we have good players but playing them out of position and with tactics that appear to us as not working and yet the manager is clearly seeing something else. Yet, when the need to change is evident, he appears unable to change things. I hope I am wrong.

  7. I hope you are right Div. I still think we should have resolved our midfield and striker issues when we lost virtually our whole midfield from last season and 2 strikers - Russell and Mixu. The squad is not strong enough in those two areas to challenge and be consistent. The tactics with the long ball if totally baffling to me as it did not work last season yet Gus persisted with it and again, it won't work unless you have a clear ball winner in the box and someone clever enough to take on the knock downs - ala Yards and Basher/McGarry. These guys have never been replaced although I think Keano is a good buy but he needs service.

  8. So midfield and striking still not resolved. Today was shambolic and clearly there has to be questions about what the feck Gus and Andy have been doing during the close season. This performance smacked of the Coughlan days when noone seemed to know what was expected of them and players being played way out of position.

I think Gus is being found out tactically - he got away with it last season - so it will be interesting to see how he shapes the team over the next few weeks. It will have to happen or we may find ourselves scrapping around the middle of the table rather than near the top. I have seen this whole issue over and over again at LS and Gus need to have a settled team that play together rather than all the changes he made from last week's team.
