Actually it is illegal to do voluntary work if claiming jobseekers allowance.
Strange one but true.
The idea that if you are doing voluntary work then you are not actively job seeking and therefore not eligible for a job seeking benefit.
As just stated and evidenced... totally untrue Oaky. Poor show. I expect better from you.
One of the things that is pissing me off just now though is the vast number of people applying to do voluntary work... who then don't follow it through.
I maybe wrong here... but it seems to me that showing you are applying to do voluntary work helps with maintaining the benefits... irrespective of how much time of the charities concerned that it wastes!!!!!!!!!!!

Bloody hell BEK! Did you give Faraway Saint your password?
we could share the mug on alternate weeks! will you be my fwiend?

The lad lost us umpteen games just like he did to stenhousemuir the other night in arguably their biggest game for decades! He also contributed greatly in putting Dunfermline out the league! I remember him dropping the ball into the net from a corner at the youth cup final at hampden which led to us losing, kicking the ground woth a kick out against dundee utd losing us a goal, i could go on and on. I'm sorry but I'm amazed that he's still a professional footballer and also amazed that some of our fans remember him fondly! What a strange support we have, used to shout and ball at yardley, one of our most prolific strikers of all time yet smudger is remembered fondly!!
personally, I don't abuse , ball or even bawl at any of our players.
The mistakes Chris made when with Saints I forgave because he was a young lad learning his trade.
At Dunfermline he was playing in front of the worst defence I have ever seen in the top league (including ours of the last season or two)... and his confidence was shot. Every mistake highlighted... by nice men like Kenny Sheils just to add extra pressure as the twat played his mind games... ... I still feel for the lad.
He made mistakes at Saints for sure... and I will only judge him on his time at the club I support... but he played his part in our success at that time too and I am not going to add myself to the list of petty executioners taking cheap shots from behind a keyboard.

Key member of the 2005/06 team that won the Division & Challenge Cup double and again the following season when we stayed up against the odds - got injured and never recovered that form but still a player I remember fondly.
amen
Pains me to see the abuse the lad has taken over the years.

It would add to my set... working up to a collection whereby I can invite a friend or two around for tea... ... if only I had some friends!
I'm lonely! So lonely!

You might think that but once you've shown that you're just another idle, fat waster that likes to sit beside his computer all day spending time on football forums whilst eating multi-packs of Walkers crisps they cut off all of your benefit money...
or make you do voluntary work... probably for the Samaritans... taking calls from idle, fat wasters that likes to sit beside their computer all day spending time on football forums whilst eating multi-packs of Walkers crisps!!!

If I WAS on the dole, the only consolation for me in an otherwise bleak world would be the sure knowledge that your tax was paying to keep me going.
Good comeback.
From the sidelines, these "encounters" are fascinating and certainly entertaining!

A sad day indeed. I take my hat off to the inventor of this meaty delight. Many a times ive used the Kebab as a kind of compass to guide me home when i,m wrecked.
Meaty delight?
There's meat in them?

My dear old ma is a great cook.
If I want a good meal in Paisley that's where I go.
I'd need the address to pass on. How much does she charge and does she take group bookings?

Thanks for all the tips guys... passed on.

Even then there's no legal obligation afaik... just a more compelling moral case.
