A draw would be fantastic, with some of the new boys getting to know their teammates and starting to build their match fitness. We are miles behind in our preparation, but we need to be patient; it’s a long season and Hibs away is a tough opener. They’re missing a few players today and we have the best keeper in the league, so hopefully we can catch them cold, but big ask.
COYS anyway!!Snap 😃

The sun is out, the football is back, I will go with a 0-0 draw today. Both sides have lots of new signings. Hibs have a few out injured also.

Oh my days, the obsession continues with more repetitive nonsense. Is today finally the day you kick it? You seemed to be doing quite well for a while there.
1st - obviously don’t understand the nature of the responses sent to an individual seen fit to slate a SMFC former player for goodness known how long. I have no intention of apologising, I stand by every comment & have no doubt we haven’t seen the end of his anti-Sammy party
2nd different opinions are always allowed, no idea what you’re on about with the Shull comment
3rd it seems like yo do look me out, like the Shull situation, I point to the overwhelming evidence in your posts. 😏
I await further desperation in your response. Please also note Shull & I both dropped it yesterday, you’re the only one keeping the above going.
Really, the only one?

I’ve not read all these posts. Have we re-signed Reilly?
No. He signed on loan for Cheltenham

Listen wee man I don't care about anything you think because you are a sanctimonious ars*hole and your posts in the main are crap.
Shull is merely someone incapable of engaging in a constructive debate and so resorts to abuse, wouldn't mind if it was interesting, instead it's repetitive.
Wendy, if it ain't Shull it's his sister / clone / alter ego.
Shetland generally comes out to support Shull. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Gstretch I am assured is NOT shull, probably true as is is a nasty little turd, just as ignorant mind you.
But really this is an apology to AlLBIONSAINT for ruining his thread by reacting to the above, my apologies unfortunately I don't do well when people piss me off, , I can deal with criticism and debate, however these people just keep repeating the same sh*t; like a broken record and I bite back...............sometimes to often.
I feel your pain. I don’t know what is going on (Brexit, heatwave, preseason tension) the forum has been truly awful for the last couple of weeks. I suggested in another thread that maybe it’s time to open a new section where folks who like to be abusive to each other can just spend there time there. Could call it the Cocktogon

Gus has a history with St Mirren, he is on reflection one of the best managers we have had in recent years, similarly so was Danny Lennon. Gus came to our club during a period of turmoil just after the sacking of Stubbs and the appointment of an untried Irish manager. As far as I can see he brought some stability during this period. He helped recruit some quality players on short term deals to keep the team from being relegated. He appears to be doing the same judging by recent signings.
So why is he still being scapegoated by sections of our support?

This Forum is now a tad pathetic. Children keep it about football and save your slagging matches to yourself. Like 13 year old girls the fugging lot of you.
I agree 100%. Could the forum master ( don’t know if that’s a real title or not, but probably should be because it sounds pretty cool) not create a special section where those who get there kicks from slagging each other could go and have a battle Royale (It fact there is your section name)
I know we have the sinbin, however this would be a voluntary section with no stmirren related content to get in the way of good old fashioned f**k wittery

Well done Gus

It shouldn't be a topic that's dead. Gus' second transfer window and 2nd manager he has been working alongside 10 months after taking on the job. If we take the view that managers deserve time to settle into the job and assemble their own squad and stamp their own style on the club can we not assume once Gus has been in post for a year or two we should be beginning to see the benefits of the change in structure and continuity and eye for detail with recruitment that his appointment was designed to bring to the club?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have got back on subject. I was protesting against the utter irrelevant drivel that a couple of posters had subjected the forum to over the last couple of days. I have never put anyone on ignore , but these posters have really ripped my knitting.
Anyhooo , still think Gus will come good.

Is there a link between Non Attendance at matches and posting on the forum.
I don't normally look at the top 5 posters of the week likes table but as I was awake at 4.35am with little else to do, I did.
"Top 5"
Faraway...Doesnt Atttend
Shull... Doesn't Attend
Isle of Bute.. Does Attend
DJ chapstick.. Does Attend
St Ricky.... Does Attend
What, if anything, does this say?
How can those who don't attend be encouraged to return?
After all, if all of the forum members attended then the 8,000 plus membership would mean we played in front of a packed stadium with a need to expand the ground and little room for away fans who would be limited to only one end or even part of one end.
Thoughts.?
That you have insomnia

She stopped going a year ago. I have stopped going now. Would have stopped last season but my Season Ticket was still valid till April.
Lots and lots of reasons for not going, all well documented on this Forum.
The wee yin prefers skateparks, trampoline parks, cinema, playing football for her team and going out with her pals.
Can't really blame her for wanting an exciting Saturday.
Personally I have hated it for years and glad to be out of it.
Bloody Gus at it again. 😂

The thread title doesn't mention Gus MacPherson, the original post is asking if the position of "DoF" / "Chief Moneyball Officer" is a realistic one for a club of our size. Has GM been properly supported? Were budgets not properly worked out at the start of the summer?
There could be numerous reasons why this window has been a disaster, but I have never seen a job title created with such fanfare and self congratulatory backslapping only for it so publicly miss all of its targets!
So far.

Coastal erosion, poor WiFi reception, Brexit, amazon deforestation , male pattern baldness, sorry I thought this thread was about blaming Gus for the worlds problems!
Plus 80% of its content (see above) has absolutely nothing to do with the director of football post!
kemp, could you at least change the thread title to ‘ has stmirrens board failed’
I know Gus is a divisive character with saints fans, but surely he doesn’t deserve 18 pages plus of scapegoating.

He said in his post match interview he could easily have 5 or 6 players in already but doesn’t want that he’s going for players that will be improvements on the squad and will no doubt be on the very edge of our budget for a player.
It’s frustrating and far from ideal but guess we just need to be patient.
Don’t know who calls them self st Mirren fans and enjoys starting rumours that he’s going to walk because he’s not getting backed I’m pretty sure jim will have the same backing as every other manager and shouldn’t get a penny more than the club can afford.
If the Ross county chairman wants to splash some of his own cash out bidding us for a player then that’s just hard luck for us.
I was glad to hear this. We will get the players eventually, however it will be nearer the end of the window when these players realise that their not as popular as their agents were telling them. That’s when St Mirren step in.
What player have we signed that has been successful that has surprised you most?

Junior Mendes, he tore down the wing like a whippet the 99/20 season, probably the last player that got everyone standing when he ran with the ball. Franco Miranda was also a surprise.
