How can 2 teams who are above us in the league, manage to out perform us with a joint fan base of 1400 (yesterday’s attendance Hamilton v Livingston)
-
Did he know that their would be a vacancy at United coming up when he was approached by Saints? Or was there some other reason for him using a large barge pole to distance himself from our managers job?

Grit also Sonny.
The lad Jamieson appears to have spades of grit, would like to see him start in midfield, he wouldn’t be bullied of the ball.

I have a programme from the last time stmirren won a game (think it was against Dundee? Though was a long time ago so hard to remember)

Watch out, pissing on the parade is frowned upon.
I think any initial euphoria around this signing is more in relation to him having a decent pedigree, at a decent level. It’s probably a sense of relief that it’s not another U23 development player from England. While there is no guarantee he will be successful, his club history and performances would suggest it might be a good possibility.

It was the Paisley Lions......Glasgow and Coatbridge had the Tigers.
Good idea about bringing it back...... tho we may have to limit it to 2 bikes per race.
Long term investments, compound interest rates, boring. The fans would love both teams mascots race each other on bikes at half time.

I would suggest, given his continuing run of poor form that Cammy Smith would be the most likely to lose his starting place.
Coulson I would have thought

I fully appreciate video clips of "The Best Bits" are supposed to make you (and Managers) drool at the mouth, but a left sided two footed winger with some skill and the ability to see the space and put the odd shot into the net leaves me scratching my bald pate................ why has he been let go and without a club at this stage in the season?
Stop looking in its mouth

Another decent signing, starting to build a team now. Hope the Stubbs appointment hasn’t hamstrung us this season.

There must be something in the Geneva convention about threatening non combatants with a season ticket for life at stmirren

Get the paisley tigers back, might bring back 80s success

I thought I'd misheard that announcement.
Definitely sounded like he said 1700 odd Hibs fans? In a stand that only holds 1600 odd?
Sitting on knees ?

Much better display than last week. Made it difficult for Hibs. A draw would have been a fair result given the effort in the second half. Great crowd today 6000 with 1700 hundred Hibs fans, although the saints crowd was reduced by 2 (w2) just before halftime, couple of guys shouting racist commments at one of the Hibs players, glad to see the stewards acting quickly to eject them. Feeling more optimistic following our 2nd half pressure. Simoen looks like a gem of a find, need to keep him all season. Onward and upwards

Newspaper check, matches check, enough bog roll check. Whoops sorry misread the thread title.

I have a good feeling about this guy, would be 1st Canadian at saints since Paul Fenwick

Surprised no one has mentioned this goal yet as one of the best I have ever seen from a saints player, Pretty sure this happened, although it could have been one of my stmirren based fantasy’s.
away to Partick thistle ,would have been 98/99 season maybe, Yardley gets the ball on the right hand side of the box, back to goal, with CB tight on him, he flips the ball up over his head ,turns the defender and volleys into the top corner. What a goal.

Hope he finds some peace. Thought he would have been a great signing.

Hi all.
Decided to come on as that was such a stark contrast to last week. What's gone so horribly wrong. Yes a couple of players down but come on. Even the basics were wrong today. Defended with every bit of energy they had in them against Celtic. Looked like they gave everything for Oran. This week just non of that! Now maybe this is premature, however seeing the players attitudes and demeanours today has Gus Macpherson been involved with first team matters this week training etc and has this had the Alan Stubbs effect on the players again. I'm only throwing it our there as I have no idea how much he's been involved this week.
Surely everyone agrees though what has gone so horribly wrong within a week!
Steven Thompson was correct what he said last week this should have been the start of some real momentum.
I prepare for the backlash!! LOL
The Gus effect? What 5 seasons in the top league and a cup final, yes I will have some of that please.

I beg to differ i joined in 2000 in belfast ok 18years ago so either i was posting to myself or well i dont know
Funny how the more things change the more they stay the same, we had an ex-teacher as manager that year also

Where do I start? First of all there was the arguments at the gates about student concessions, club website said students get in on a concession, stewards and turnstile staff were having none of it. Then the “emergency situation please leave the stadium” announcement for twenty minutes, if only I had known they were warning me to leave the stadium as there were 90 minutes of trauma to follow then I might have left.
so main points of disappointment, we can’t defend and we can’t score goals. I could go through the whole analysis of the game but the bottom line comes to these 2 points.
The inconvient truth is that we don’t have a team with the requisite quality of player to compete in this league. We are on our second manger (so is Livingston) and from what I have seen (apart from 45 minutes when the cameras were on them last Friday) we have not attracted any quality signings to the club.
Why? (Answers on a postcard please) I think there is a deeper problem with stmirren, you are not telling me that Hamilton/Livingston/stjohnstone are more attractive to players and managers than stmirren.
My one ray of hope is that Oran can change things come January, however I don’t see us picking up many points before then.

Shergar, lord lucan and now the W7 thread !

Great game, great performance. Very optimistic going forward now. If we can bring in a good quality front man or if Brock madsen feels transformed we will be mid table by Christmas.

Can’t be sure, but looks like a ruble too me! Bloody Russians trying to undermine our club again
