Maybe the soap and brush stuff had something to do with it.

Or the giant pine tree 🌲 air freshener or the hanging the Morton dragon on a mini noose or..........

still better than the corporate homogenised one we have now.

I was going to take a picture to show my grandson his new mask but, on laying it out, it looked too much like a thong.

To be honest, I thought it would have been bigger, could be a trick of the light 😂

  3. Should the furlough scheme be extended for certain sectors of industry/business? I think certain areas such as tourism/ hospitality/ travel should have an extension (tapered) especially in areas where tourism is a major source of employment (parts of Scotland, Cornwall etc)

like the old Irish saying during the potato famine goes  “the scenery is beautiful but you can’t eat it”

Club are probably trying to get as much money in as possible before annoying PPV, Hamilton aren’t selling season tickets for this season so makes sense they’re the only club coming out saying it just now.

How does this club make ends meet? They have low attendance and won’t have hospitality?

No he wasn't. He said that this APPEARED to be the SG's approach.
He also didn't say it NEEDED to be this way.

FFS, by saying this "appears" to be the approach he is literally "suggesting" something.

Let’s not get caught up in semantics (it was earlier today and I am just back from my work) you are both correct.

  6. FTOF, I think the problem is that this is a novel virus so nobody really knows if what they are doing is right. The SG appear to be putting people’s health before business, whether that is right or wrong is up for discussion, I guess we will find out somewhere down the line. In the meantime we can only work with the information we have and base our decisions on that information.

Thats very interesting. If CG is thinking about coming to us (to get first team football) that would be real boost - no doubt we would therefore continue to have one of the best keepers in the league!

I guess he has made his money and is now just looking to play football.

And hopefully he Doesn’t want to play that football in the championship

It's more than ultra cautions, our "R" number is more than low enough to open up society.

The latest data indicated that on 5 June the so-called R-number was between 0.6 and 0.8 -

Killing business's, the new SNP slogan.

Interesting factoid, the the R number for measles is 15 although less fatal it does give a bit of context when you realise the COVID R number is between 0.6 and 0.8

Racial discrimination of any kind, including positive discrimination, is wrong. there are many so called white people in the same position.

Sorry for going off topic but collecting  information on BAME background let’s the NHS target certain people (see below) surely that positive discrimination has a place in our society when it’s about getting services directed at certain groups of people

    • Irish people living in the UK have much higher hospital admission rates for mental health problems than other ethnic groups. They have higher rates of depression and alcohol problems and are at greater risk of suicide.31

Well the Abbey Inn  on Barrhead Rd must think it is going to be soon.

A member of staff was painting wooden tables and stools in the car park, and they had plastic tables and chairs in the beer garden with no space for cars.

Also saw what looked like a delivery of kegs to the Craig Dhu pub.

The canal station bar is getting ready. Need to watch out for skelfs though.

Bring back Mind Your Language ( truly awful "comedy" over and above the racism). Huge Saturday night prime time viewing figures too in the 80s.

If you want to see some “jock bashing “ watch Get some in on talking movies channel. Robert Lindsay plays a teddy boy and Brian Pettifer is the put upon  Jock. Not sure how long it will be available given the current climate

    Not worried at all.

Seen this all before in the 70's and 80's.

The far right have used the BLM riots as justification for getting stuck in under the pretence of wanting to "protect the statues".

This is why BLM activists should cut out the violence. It just breeds further violence in a cycle. Violence never achieves anything sustainable. When are people going to get their thick neanderthal skulls around this?

Once the BLM stuff dies down in the next few weeks or so, the far right will die down. This will all be forgotten in a couple of months and we'll be back to talking about Brexit again.

I hope not, that will be like trying to put out a fire with some petrol!

It's not just a matter of the Covid Issue. It's the changes that are now seen as possible that weren't before. Including home working, flexible learning at all levels, on line meetings etc etc Why go back to what we had before might be the question to ask and answer.

Fair point, however there is 30 years worth of research that categorically states that productivity plummets when working from home. Our productivity was already behind the rest of Europe prior to COVID.

  15. Black lives matter. But do their working conditions matter? Large queues outside primark would say not really. Isn’t it hypocritical to voice your concerns about black peoples lives, then queue up on the first day a retailer opens who has a history of poor working conditions In its oversea supply chain.

I’ll confess that over the last few weeks I’ve had a slowly creeping feeling of concern about the kind of world we’re going to be living in in the near future.
There are some genuinely scary things going on at the moment.

This feeling was increased tenfold today when I saw this tweet. Although it appears no one got physically hurt here, it must have been a truly terrifying episode for those involved.
Are we in for some truly scary times ahead, or am I just being a auld fanny?

    Thoughts?

Until today I would have said you were an old vagina, however I heard a story today that kind of made my heart sink with the realisation that their are some (hopefully not the majority) who appear to have lost a grip on reality. The story goes like this...

middle aged woman absolutely convinced that Michelle Obama used to be a man. (Clearly faked video to back up this belief) my first worry is that a woman who has had an education and is living in an advanced country like the UK should hold such beliefs so strongly in the face of such overwhelming rational evidence against it is frightening, has someone put something in the water?
5G, Soros, Bill Gates, what has happened to people? Are these beliefs just filling the vacuum that religion left behind. Answers on a postcard please.
