Hopefully a huge cheer for their manager before the game
Hopefully a huge cheer for our manager after the game

Thommo

Goodwin and Carswell in the same team again after it was obvious it wouldn't work and Mallan dropped, that peg is getting shooglier and shooglier.
-
no goodwin?
no, the holding mids are going to have to attack as well, so Mallan and Howieson.
-
Murray will channel his inner Danny Lennon today and adopt the "if they score 3 we'll score 4" attitude so will start :
Langfield
Watson Baird Webster Kelly
Mallan Howieson
McMullen Shankland Gallagher
Thommo
Hibs 3 (anyone but McGinn 3, 24, 35) Saints 4 (Thommo 34,87, Shankland 55, Gallagher 64)

Also got us our highest spl finish.
Twice
History will show him to have been a legend, a good manager and a great human being.

I've always thought Murray would come good, though my confidence was shaken by him playing Carswell and Goodwin in the same team as well as the Gallagher/Morgan substitution, both of which seemed like a mistake at the time. Still a bit early to bag a manager though, but I would say the peg has got a bit shooglier.

I assumed you were responding to the thread title.
I was responding to Kendo who said we should wait and see before writing off Gow, I said I thought Murray would come good but I've already written off Gow.
-
A preposterous contention.
You think Gow is going to be a player for us? Good luck with that.
-
No Gow, FWIW I think Murray will come good.
-
Sorry Kendo, I think it's fairly safe to write him off now.

COYS - The start of a great unbeaten run that takes us up to 2nd place by the end of october.

Mykey, we have hunners injured. Goodwin did more than most of the entire team in the short time he was on. The midfield was over run leaving him exposed. After he left Carswell came on and eh did nothing.
I'm not disagreeing with anything you say here Kendo, and I did say "injuries permitting" but what I am saying is we should stop waiting for Goody to "screw the nut" because it aint going to happen and that I don't think Murray will give him a starting berth (again injuries permitting). I have praised Goodwin's tackling and breaking up of play, however his distribution is rank and his discipline is worse and, as he gets slower with age and more tackles get mistimed it's probably better to start with Agnew and Carswell in the 2 holding positions.

I'm a wee bit fed up with comments on here about only playing 1 up front as if it's Levein's 4-6-0.
4-2-3-1 is how barcelona and the spanish national team became world beaters, entertaining all along the way - it only looks negative because we are sitting so deep that when the ball gets to Thommo our 3 attacking mids are about 15-20 yards away. it's not a negative if we pressed teams we'd have 4 up front most of the game.

good old lovestreet - nearly as reliable as flareybob (translates as FFS)

For the type of football we played last night Thommo did ok, unfortunately (again) he is winning balls in the air, making knock downs and flick-ons but there is no-one around about him to feed off any good work he does. There is way too big a gap between midfield and our main (in some cases "only") striker.
We are really struggling for leaders on the park right now and when Goodwin went off the midfield was silent.............I may be in a minority but I felt Goody really let us down last night, I thought his early yellow was deserved (and stupid) and although Livi were obviously at it with their constant badgering of the ref Goodwin kept getting himself into situations where the ref had decisions to make. It could be argued that, for the last foul at least, the ref did us a favour by not sending him off and allowing us to make a sub before being down to 10. We need Goodwin for his drive and commitment but we don't need the nonsense that comes with it, he's old enough to have sussed that out by now.
Once Jim had left the scene we were left with Langfield (our furthest back player) and Thompson (our furthest forward player) as the only vocal players on the park with 60 yards of silence, and no organisation, in between. Agnew may be a talker but as it was a defensive change required then he was never the answer to Goodwin going off.
Webster, or someone of that ilk, is a must from a leadership and organisational perspective or we will really struggle to be strategically sound in any games we play but from a positive side if Goodwin can screw the nut we could have Langfield, Webster, Goodwin and Thompson right through the middle of our team communicating and organising and at least giving us some structure to our play.
I don't think Goodwin can screw the nut and I think Murray's opinion of him went downhill last night (and i don't think it was that high to begin with). Goody can win tackles and break up play but his temperament is dodgy and his distribution is awful, injuries permitting I don't think Goody will be in the starting line up again.

Who will be in Goals, Mykey?
I would guess that Langfield will only start training with the squad today or tomorrow so probably Ridgers on Saturday but after that probably Langfield (I reserve the right to change this opinion at any time)

Going to phone Sky today and tell them I'm done, nowhere near value for money for me, combined with the Champions League gone means I've had enough paying a considerable monthly fee.
Can you get BT sport without going to BT for broadband as I know a few people who have been sucked into this and the service & quality of broadband is shit? Also BT's "production" is shit compared to Sky, they seem to think a big bag of money equals quality broadcasting and it clearly doesn't. Champions League is the only attraction for me with BT.
Maybe Sky will make me an offer I can't refuse but it'll need to be a whopper as I don't watch as much football, no golf/cricket so the only thing I'd miss would be darts & tennis, both of which provide much more quality on a regular basis.
UPDATE: Made me an offer I could refuse, made me another offer I didn't refuse, keep the Sky boxes functions at £6 a month, gives me the ability to record etc as I'd need something.
They'll let me know if any other offers are available.....................
Now, all I need is BT sport for next to fcuk all and I'll be happy.
Without the broadband the footy is about £20 a month I think

even if they could play in England, the media up here would still be full of their shite - but UEFA would never sanction it because then it would be a free-for-all with top Portuguese clubs wanting to play in spain, austria's finest in the bundeslega, etc.
