  1. I had perhaps overlooked that minor detail. Djemba Djemba and Campbell will do nicely. I still think we're not as predictable as we were once. (Apart from the results!) I honestly still feel quietly confident. If nothing else it annoys the so-called St,Mirren fans who love it when we lose. The usual suspects will typically deny this.

I'm hopeful you're right. Playing 4,2,3,1. We should be stronger at the back as well as allowing Campbell, Gowser & Wilde (when available) to run at defences.

  2. At times this season our starting line up has been pretty predictable and that has helped the opposition in sussing how to handle us. Maybe that has changed now. Campell and Wylde have made promising starts, Magennis will hopefully fit in and Djemba Djemba is bound to play for at least part of the game. it makes this match much more intriguing. Our biggest problem hasn't changed, though. Even without the new guys, when our boys are in the mood we can beat teams like Dundee United as we've shown. But will we ever learn how to do it consistently? I'm hopeful about Sunday and looking forward to it.

I hope you're not less hopeful after i remind you that wylde and magennis are cup-tied

  3. You couldn't make it up lol.gif

Like most of us, I've watched him and harkins lark about at half time, playing crossbar challenge etc. I just wonder if he had a dodgy work ethic. DL is always insistant that work rates are high, maybe he felt that both these players were bad role models for the young players ???

  4. I think there's something go on with Hartley. I heard him on the radio earlier saying he's taken Alloa as far as he thinks he can but he's leaving them still in the Scottish cup and 2 points off the play off place. Take his comments at face value and he can't be very confident in his own ability to get to the play off place and possible promotion for Alloa again or he's a lying little shite.

I heard him on the radio earlier too, I got the impression that he felt pretty good about how far he'd taken alloa but felt he'd hit a brick wall & that it was better to walk and have people talk about how he'd achieved back to back promotions rather than how he'd achieved back to back promnotions then stalled. I imagine football people will see through this and there will be a question mark over him, but there is always some team desperate enough to give it a shot, after all he has left alloa two leagues higher than he found them.(but I hope it's not us).

  5. Return to passing game, return to 4-2-3-1 formation with Newton and McLean as the 2, and Campbell, McGowan, and McGinn up with Thommo. Have the under 20's play the same formation and tactics so that players progress to 1st team already knowing what's required. Return to black and white stripes with white trim and only change if playing away from home against a similar strip and finally return to winning games, preferably by 2 or more goals.

Any manager doing all of the above should have his contract renewed and extended.

  6. I'm sure everybody on here wants the very best for our club, but few can agree on what that is. I have supported DL so far though I admit to wobbling at both Kilmarnock games and the draw with hearts though I do think we were a bit unlucky. The problem I have with those who would boot Danny out is who would come in instead. Kilmarnock have replaced their manager every time the waste paper bin in their office is full and last time apparently secured the best young manager in Scotland but they're no better off than us. how would our fans react to having Paul Hartley as boss, would we get excited at the arrival of Jimmy Calderwood?

The time to get rid of DL is when we have a better manager lined up and at the moment I cant think of a manager that is better than what we have who would realistically come to us.
