It was a foul , defender had eyes only for the ball , and Jefte barged him off his feet. His 5th foul btw , he can't have any complaints.
Joking aside. I honestly could see why the ref gave it but, that aside, Clement was to blame as Jefte could have, maybe should have, seen a second yellow in the first half. The manager should have hooked him at half time, I am only glad he was stupid enough to have left him on the park.

Proud of the boys tonight and their performance and effort - especially compared to last week when we failed to turn up.
However, there was quite a gulf in class between the 2 teams. Brann would be competing for top spot in Scotland.
They were still so much sharper and fitter and their skill on the ball was impressive.
Wish them well for the rest of the competition.
That's a wee bit of a sweeping statement. They are well into their season while we are in the fledgling's. I don't think they were that far ahead of us in quality and, when we scored, I honestly thought we were the team that might steal it which is exactly what they did. Deserved winners over the two legs but tonight was a lot closer. Brann would likely be classed as "top six" candidates in Scotland but not, AFAIC, likely challengers for top spot. All in all, a far better performance from Saints and unlucky to lose by two on the night. I hope the players take some solace from the praise the supporters are giving them and kick on from here and try to give us another chance to enjoy a European adventure. IF they do we will undoubtably be doing so minus what has turned out to be a fantastic management team. Being a Paisley lad, I needed to dampen things down. (NO. I'm not related to Elvis).

Scott and Olusanya up front. I think that will eventually be our regular pairing. I was hoping to see O'Hara on the bench but, hey ho, it was probably a big ask.

Why Scotland may have avoided far right unrest - BBC News
I think it was more to do with the fact they were worrying too much about the rangers' predicament.

the video has a perfect angle showing clearly that the ref was a f**kwit and should have listened to his linesman who saw it clearly, if anything it was Toy that was fouled!!!
The lad was very unlucky not to capture the goal from a different angle too but at least he got this showing what a diving, cheating bass their goalie was.

They were bound to say that. They had loads of chances and squandered some with our back line dealing with the rest.
We had few chances and scored one.
Catty comments about our style of play just sounds like desperation. Possession is one thing but it’s nothing without goals.
Tie is wide open!
The derogatory remarks probably stem from that one instance where they felt they were cheated. It was attack v defence, most of the game, but we played our defensive part well while they fell a little short in their final attack mode.

Aberdeen still splashing a bit of cash. I hope, due to our early recruitment, we catch them in the throws of gelling. Not simply because they MIGHT be recruiting well but also due to the toll a really hard fought European result may have taken on our squad's legs. I hope for a win, just like the one my grandson and I witnessed last time Saints went up there but, honestly? This time out? I think I'd take a draw.

You are splitting hairs here. I know plenty of people who "thought" they were Celtic or Rangers supporters as primary children who embraced the buddies and plenty more who moved from an area where they grew up to embrace the local team. All valid supporters and welcome at the ground.
I agree that, in most kids formative years it seems that the emphasis is on the ersecheeks so it would be hard for a young child not to get drawn in a sort of allegiance to one or other if their parents are not died in the wool local club supporters. This obviously stems from media coverage, fair or not, and success on the pitch. I made the mistake of not directing my own son toward the light due to the amount of time I spent working away and he ended up favouring one of them. (Not to the extent of actual supporting financially). If I tell you he grew up in the late eighties and into the nineties you could work out it was the "deed club" due to their stranglehold on success during the majority of that time. As time goes by, some grow and find an affinity with their community club and turn away from the dark side, deciding instead to support a club for club's sake and NOT due to success or an underlying bigotry that, no matter what those Glasgow clubs say, celtic and rangers clandestinely support while, on the surface, condemning the behaviour. The more that take this path, the better for Scottish football.
IF you don't want to read all that then, quite simply, you're correct!

Last night was mental against boys, they were so much better than us in most areas aside from set pieces where they look shaky. Even their subs warmed up pretty much the whole 90 mins rather than just sitting, big gulf in fitness.
Olysanyas yellow was a joke, it happened 3m Infront of the linesman and he flagged for a throw to us and then the ref pulls a yellow WTF.
Made the equaliser sweeter and as for them complaining about Rooney and the throw in , the guy who went down ran off the pitch, pure time wasting so screw them and we'll done to Rooney.
What Rooney did was justified AFAIC. I bet they wouldn't have been so prone to putting the ball out if they were running close to our 18 yard box. I really don't understand why Brann changed their tactics after the goal. It's not as if we had caused them any real concern. They chose to start wasting time and diving as if they were re-enacting some Olympic games pool event. I seem to remember us doing the same thing years ago v Raith Rovers? when they started wasting time and diving. I have never actually understood this idea that the opposition should give the ball back when the other team decide to put it out for their own player. Totally different if they do so for one of the other teams players.
I think it would take a colossal effort to keep our European dream alive now but, where there's life and all that. IF we managed to get through this tie I would be very tempted to make my first bet in 43 years and put a "bullseye" on us winning the whole damn thing.
(ETA. Yes. I did have to google that for the slang terms)!

I don't think I've ever advocated this but I believe we should change to one up top for the second leg with, and, this is not going to be agreed by all, Scott up top. IF things are going to plan and we're not simply preventing a landslide, then we can bring on pace and go for it a little. Last night they played through us as if we were a man down. They are a very good side. I also think things would be different if we had the O'Hara that played v Vilur at our disposal.
This said. Good luck to all who managed to get tickets and those who are going on the chance they get something over there. Make our team, and country proud of our support at least.

Quite simplistic, and wrong. Even using your criteria it would be at least £10,50. You need to take into consideration reduced crowd capacity etc. to get a more fair comparison.

I would have liked to be away first but, it is what it is. My guess is we'll need a two goal cushion and I can't see that happening. Stranger things and all that.
This Robinson team seem to have a lot of self belief and I'm sure we'll all get behind the lads tonight.

Programmes for tonight’s game arrived by 1st class post this morning - brilliant service from Curtis Sports.
Well that makes one satisfied customer. I heard some are only just getting Their Valur programmes. I haven't got my Brann one's as yet.

I refuse, ABSOLUTELY refuse to take you back off ignore fartaway, but let me guess. You probably said something like, "You don't agree with me so you're wrong/ you're stupid, because I know far more than anyone about anything and, just to be contrary, I think Collum is a god who knows everything because he agrees with me". Am I close?

The first thing Double Dick does is pass the buck on the most controversial topic in Scottish football.
Ex-Premier League referee Jon Moss appointed SFA VAR manager - BBC Sport
VAR will NEVER work in Scotland as we can't afford the infrastructure or the quality of the officials needed to run it.

Not sure there will be any home tickets left.

Surprised the attendance was so low. Hibs sold out their allocation and the East and West stands were sold out. There were empty seats behind the goal but it would need to be almost completely empty for their only to be 6,171 there.
There were a lot of pockets of empty seats peppered through the stadium so they may have added up.
-
Thanks for the heads up shull. Ordered two programmes this morning
-
I have to admit I didn't see that score-line happening after the first 45. Hibs were tormenting us down our left hand side. We sorted it out after the first half and thoroughly ended up deserving our victory. As for the nonsense with VAR/no VAR and the length of time it took to sort it out. WHY? Was the ref "feart" to make decisions on his own? In saying that. His determination to book our players along with his refusal to pull Hibs' players up for very similar offences appears to suggest incompetence.
When was the last time we scored 7 goals in two high profile matches? The future looks bright for the Black and White.

Got my tickets for the home leg. I bought my grandson's seat too, just in case, so I may have a spare to pass on IF he can't make it again. (Which is highly likely). There just wasn't enough time to do so with the last home game.

Good shout, I see eBay opportunists already at work…
My wife said she saw one onebay asking for £36.00. Feckin chancers.
ETA I actually think the club f*cked it up. They should have doubled production and charged 4, maybe even 5, quid.

Good stuff - I didn't even see anyone with one never mind selling them.
I drove down to the ground for around 10 past 6 to make sure I got parked and there was one guy with a box inside the gates. I think he only had 100 of them though so I got lucky.

I did courtesy of my son who works for the Herald - one of their journalists at the game had one and is passing it on.
I managed to get two programmes at the ground.

Hen's teeth unfortunately. We couldn't afford an established goalscorer so we need to rely on scouting and luck. I think probably the latter more than the former.
