  1. It transpires that Hopkin is 3rd or 4 th largest shareholder at Morton. He’s a shoe in for that job if Livi fail to gain promotion. Considering the job he’s done with such limited resources I think it’s silly not to consider someone like him, if we required a new manager.  If he was given the budget we have for the premiership then he would probably make very good use of it, given the superb job he’s done with Livingston. Not the prettiest football to watch but very effective.

Who’s to say he won’t be a more effective manager at a bigger club with more resources.

So he looked great most of the time, scored a super goal but failed to cover his man and it cost his side a goal as well...

Maybe that is why he is more often a sub than in the starting 11 -(in the Championship) and his goal tonight doubled his season's tally...

I cannot se him as a big star in the Premiership - can you?

Depends on your opinion, so by your reckoning he can’t step up a level because he’s currently operating in the championship? He was a regular starter before he lost his place through injury, and had been talked about as a real prospect by many within the game.

I wonder if Josh Mullin will stay at Livi , I think he would be a good player to have.

Josh Mullin was very impressive tonight, he took his goal superbly.

He did let his man get a free run for the first eaqualiser, but overall looks a very good player.

Would not be against him returning to us, always liked him, good player.

Seems that Shanks has finally got the message that you can’t play at a decent level if you can’t get to grips with fitness. He’s looking very fit and in good shape, his goal scoring record for Ayr this season has been phenomenal, but could he do it at the premiership level. He’s a natural goal scorer but will one of the bigger clubs take a chance with him.

Had a look on P&b but couldn't see it. It would make sense , first team regular at Dens , big and physical . and played for JF at QOS .

It was a post on the QOS transfer thread where someone asked where Holt was going after his contract at dens expired, the reply was a PCA with Saints.

O’Ware is nowhere near good enough. Average championship player at best. If this is the standard of player we’re going to get, we’ll be a one-season wonder in the Premiership.

Ex- Morton captain too; No thanks!

Spot on with your assement on O’ware. He’s nowhere near good enough for the premiership in Scotland. I’m sure Jack will be looking at better options to boost or squad.

  7. Have to agree with other posters here, the end of last weeks league winning game against Livingston was spoiled by the PA system belting out loud music when all we wanted to do was hear the west stand singing and enjoy the moment. Hopefully the club won’t make a similar mistake this Saturday. Let us the fans create our own atmosphere and give the W6 & 7 boys a chance to belt out some of our own songs.

  8. It was a glorious night for me as it was the first time that I had seen us Win a relatively big cup competition.

The northbank that night was packed and the atmosphere for me as a daft 17 year old boy was superb.

The semi final against Bolton away will always stick more in my memory ,for the last min Jimmy bone diving header which sent about 1500 Buddies into an absolute frenzy of delight and relief.

The bottles bricks and anything else that the Bolton thugs could find was not such a pleasant experience.

Neither was my mate driving the wrong way out of Bolton directly back towards said Bolton thugs.

    memories

Reilly's words to me last night were that he wasn't going anywhere and he absolutely loves playing under Jack Ross.

At what point in the conversation could you string a coherent sentence together You drunken wreck.....:P

His head was like a magnet for the ball in the second half last night. Thought he was probably their best player.

Not suggesting we sign him though.

It’s not difficult to stand out in a team like Dundee Utd who are a quite  dreadful outfit. Doesn’t say much for us last night as we huffed and puffed our way through a nervous shitfest of a game.

We really don’t need players for the top flight who failed with one of the worst sides in the dead clubs history. There are plenty of better options that I’m sure Jack will explore before considering such a liability like Mohsni.

IMO, the managers tactic of replacing Smith with Baird was the catalyst for throwing away 2 points on Saturday.

Yeah, JR has done a great job, etc. But, as you say, doesn’t mean that you can’t be critical as and when things go wrong.

One game lost in 17 and seven home games without losing a goal is amongst the top form of any club in Europe. I honestly don’t see how anyone can be critical of what the management team have done. In 99% of previous games the tactical switch of taking Smith off and replacing him with Baird has worked out perfectly well, but we got done with two set piece goals.

We are the best team in this league by a country mile and have nothing to worry about, the title is in the bag. Jack Ross and James Fowler will make mistakes and Jack basically said so in his post match interview, that perhaps it wasn’t the right substitution but I reckon he’s earned the right to make one or two mistakes given where we are now.

QOS don't have much of a record at home, only won 4, drew 5 and lost 3.

I'm surprised many were expecting a tough game against Dunfermline as they had not won any of the previous 5 games before yesterday.

I'd be surprised, again, if we lose against QOS , a draw at worst.

One danger is QOS are chasing a top 4 spot, Morton and possibly Dundee Utd are in their sights so they could be right up for this.

On the evidence of yesterday's display our players are looking very much up for the remaining fixtures.

There was a steely determination to our game yesterday and I can't see many if any teams in this division who can match our will to win games. We have the best players the best squad and we are without doubt the outstanding team of the division. It's f**king glorious to be a buddie given where we were last season. :D

You speak for the majority of posters? Dont think so bud. And i will always speak out against people wishing mental illness on others, thats the way i am made, i am sure there are others in here who see it equally as moronic.

There you go again, I haven't mentioned anything to do with wishing mental illness on anyone let alone you. It's actually quite amusing that you and the likes of Shull continue to troll this site and then spit the dummy when you get called out for it. As I said before, you go ahead and fill your boots.

So if i have a different view to you, i am an attention seeker..? Surely you can see the irony in people screaming 'attention seeker' thereby drawing greater attention to themselves?

as regards Ross, perhaps you missed the post on the same page where i repeated yet again i dont know another manager we could realistically got who would have the team where it is currently. What you and a few other posters seem to be expressing is your anger/frustration regarding if we've had a bad game, or the manager has made a bad decision by jumping down my throat for highlighting what some dont like facing.

thats not attention seeking, thats being prepared to critically analyse how we are performing, and what may be affecting that. Other people take the view 'everything's great, and no one can do wrong'. Thats their prerogative.

worth adding, on the way to game on Saturday i tuned in to 'Off The Ball' and they were, as you would expect ripping into Ross after he pulled out of a job he wasnt going to get, and stated he had 'loyalty to the club' etc they posed the reasonable question 'so why did you get in your car and drive to Barnsley then?'

back to the game, surely even the most fervent 'its all gravy' fan can see we were poorly prepared for that game, and what Livvy through at us, and any reaction to try and shore us up came too late as the game had gone from us.

i have supported the team for decades, and believe me a few silly comments by ill informed people arent going to change that. If they want to seek attention by continually insulting other saints fans thats up to them.

So you are effectively playing the victim now that I've asked a valid question. Can you explain to me where I insulted you ? I pointed out that in my opinion that you were trolling or attention seeking. I stand by that opinion and the majority of posters probably think the same. It's a fitba forum so you batter in with your agenda until your hearts content.

I am, (and its on here in lots of threads) happy to debate with most posters, but if they believe the most conducive way to engage in debate is by abuse/insult then like everyone else i have much better uses of my time.

Debating an opinion on a open forum is perfectly acceptable and you are perfectly entitled to express your opinion. But everyone and their granny can see you have an agenda with Jack Ross,no matter how successful he is and no matter what he does while at the helm of our club. You are either trolling or you are some kind of serial attention seeker. Maybe you should look at what Jack and his management team have done to galvanise the club players and fans and actually enjoy what's going on at the moment, as it doesn't often happen for clubs like us. There's something special going on and you must be the only bud with such a negative take on where we are as a club at this time.
