    Correct.

If it was a Scottish Cup, League Cup or Challenge Cup Tie, I would guess the Admission Price would be between £12 and £18.

I know it is a severe emotional tie for some, but we really need to leave a few away ends empty  especially Dumbarton.

Other fans should actually boycott our North Stand due to our rip off TWENTY POUND charge.

This is the thing we know we won't. The annoying thing is if it was £20 most people would accept that because it's became a bit of a standard for match prices. Trying to squeeze the extra £2 is a poor show.

We couldn't realistically drop our prices by a great amount, the financial hit would be too much.

I don't  mind discussing new and prospective signings, but I find this forum's tendency. To speculate on how the budget can be trimmed a little distasteful.

The manager knows who he wants, what their value is to him and he knows if he can afford it.

It's been proven many times, the average fan knows the. Square root of sod all when it comes to running a club

Probably should be chat that's kept to the speculation thread in all honesty. Agreed.

When are our injured players due back??

    Eckersley

    Todd

and what is the score with Kirkpatrick - is he going out on loan ????

Eckersley is two or three weeks away.

Todd is set to start back full training this month so possibly not ready until February.

  4. I'm a bit indifferent to Sutton staying or going. He's been great for us over two spells and I'm sure he holds no grudges looking at the form Smith and Reilly have been on. He could be an impact player towards the end of the season but the flip side is if we offloaded that wage could we use the money saved to sweeten deals for players like Reilly and McGinn and still have enough left to replace him with a younger prospect player?

I'm happy with whatever happens and have no issue if he stays or if he goes. It's a tough call for him, maybe he'll end up wanting to go to put himself in the shop window for a new club in the summer. Perhaps Raith and Dumbarton who were quoted just aren't the right moves for him.

I’d imagine a fair chunk of that money will be used to pay off the previous board based on the accelerated payment agreement. I can’t remember what was agreed, but it would be useful if someone could clarify the position,

That won't really make a difference to us being able to offer contracts based on the funds. The accelerated payment agreement just means that SMISA have to replace it with our monthly commitments. Old board doesn't get an extra penny overall so it shouldn't impact our ability to use the funds as needed. I think the wording of it has resulted in people getting a bit hung up on the actual details.

Swansea and Crystal Palace think he may be worth signing, why all the negativity on here!

Not think, at the very best thought. He got a really bad injury (twice) at crucial points in his development as a player and by all accounts isn't close to the player he looked like devloping into. There's been a few games this season where even Morton have dropped him. Don't let the fact a player ups his game against us fool you into thinking he's worth paying money for and we would have to pay for him. Not saying he 100% won't develop, just that with his injury history it would be a big gamble to take.

  7. Great news about McGinn if he's looking likely to stay. When he's not on form we really notice it. He can spot a pass that no one else in the stadium can see. Yeah he occasionally makes mistakes but they're few and far between. For me he's one of the very top priorities with Gavin Reilly, hopefully the Morgan money is used to make them both happen soon. Does anyone know if Davis option is St Mirren or Davis? I hope either way it gets taken up but we probably won't know until the summer.

Whilst I understand the contract situation I feel quite dissapointed that we have now sold McLean, Mcginn, Mallan, Mcallister and now Morgan all for combined fees of under 1m. I am not sure why but that seems as if we are giving them away. Does anyone know why we can't cash in like Hamilton etc seem to have over the years. Let's be honest some.of these fees are chicken feed.  McLean 200k to Aberdeen is a joke and I realise it's related to contract but 300k for Lewis again seems ridiculous.  Seems alot of our fans are delighted tho jumping thro hoops in fact

It's fine to be disappointed, I think most are. But I think it's just part of football. People need to remember than Hamilton haven't sold 10/ 15 players for millions. It's three or four in the last decade. For me it's luck with contracts more than anything else. Risk and reward deals. We could of offered Morgan a 3 or 4 year contract a couple years ago or broke the bank and maybe convinced him to do it last year same as McGinn, Mallan or anyone else but we might also of done the same with Thomas Reilly or lewis McLear etc and be stuck with them.

Young players are very savvy about deals they sign up to (as advised by agents and family) so sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but I don't believe St Mirren are anyway at fault. We've just not had the few bits of luck other clubs have had. I think a great example is Magennis, he's had a willingness to sign a long term deal last year. If he didn't get injured he could be in the same situation as Morgan right now. Towards end of last season he was unplayable on occasions. If he was playing like Morgan right now he'd easily fetch seven figures because of his contract length. Just need a wee bit of luck sometimes IMO.

    Bloody hell.

Probably the only thing this forum will ever agree on is relief that our resident Jai Quitongo obsessive is not in charge of our transfer policy!

Jai Quitongo has apparently been nowhere near the player he was last season. He turns it on against us but we don't need a player that's that inconsistent. Would also need to pay money for him, better options out there. Would have Smith and Reilly in the team ahead of him every day of the week.

Stephen Dobbie would be far too short term for the money we'd have to pay IMO.

Maybe we could give a discount for today's match for Celtic Season Ticket Holders to come along to Greenhill Road to see their new superstar in action.

    We might fill the place.

There's enough of them from Paisley anyway so they wouldn't have to travel far. Might be into it with their glory hunting attitudes as well.

  11. All the chat about sell-on fees, we may never know if there is a sweetener in there but I'm sure we've said in the past 'undisclosed fee + add ons' which we didn't say yesterday. Worth pointing out though that we will be entitled to a small amount of any future sale anyway due to development rules. I think it ranges from 0.5 - 2.5% of future fees. Queens Park benefited from this rule with the Andrew Robertson transfer.

    Daft question

Morgan wouldn't of signed such a contract last season and the season before it would have been a massive risk to give him such a long contract. Should we of given Lewis McLear, Thomas Reilly, Mo Yaqub or any other player that showed a glimmer of hope such a long term deal in the hope they develop into a Lewis Morgan? It's risk and reward

Haven't seen one comment ever 'abusing' Longwell or saying he was doing anything but an excellent job.

There's been a few over the years. It's died down since he left the club but I found an old thread recently somewhere and he was getting slagged.

What could people say bad about him? Also using the term 'abusing' was it actually 'abusing' comments or just people making comment? I know in the snowflake times we live in a lot of people can't tell the difference though haha.

I am happy that we have him to season end- he will be inspired and in a good place to really help the cause

The money side is pathetic so I agree with comments above, if we get 260k for Mallan we should get 750k for Morgan

Last season Cummings at Hibs was 1.2 m, and of course McGinn will be way over that............... I think Morgan is better than Cummings, the guy who famously got Hibs relegated by his stone wall misses...... struggling with a bottom third Chamionship team,

I think there is more to this, and the relationship that JR has with BR, I can see some other loanees coming our way if we get promoted..........

We have always been stepping stones.....

    Fitzy 250k

    McGarvey 300k

But you could argue with the obvious exceptions of Ian Ferguson, Stark and Macca, most bombed .....................

Still think it should/could have been 500k plus him back, but the loaned back part is the reason to why we are not getting what he is worth......

Promotion is worth a lot to us, so that has been a factor,  but Tic sure have taken advantage of it

I'm confused by these posts. It's a completely different question 'what is his value' 'what will we get' I think it's fair to say everyone values him way higher than what we could ever sell him for because of his contract length. The money we got was how much we would be owed at the end of his contract (roughly) buy and loan back achieves the same as him signing a pre-contract. The only way we would have got more is if he wasn't getting loaned back to us. If that was Celtic's wishes i would be disappointed if St Mirren had accepted less than £1 million.

It's great the talent is coming through but for whatever reason we are not getting great money compared to what the likes of Falkirk and Hamilton were able to command.Morgan is certainly one of the best talents I have observed in many years supporting Saints.

The money we get is all relevant to contracts. We've been unfortunate not to have a situation where a player stars like Morgan but still has 2 or 3 years to run. If that happened then we would be seeing bigger transfers. That's just part of being a football club. Younger players hold a lot of control in contract negotiations. I'm sure last year we tried to get Morgan to sign longer than a year extension.

And to think of the abuse that some people ( not you obviously) were giving David Longwell who done an excellent job with the young players.

Longwell is one person that some fans should acknowledge done a great job for the club.

Back to Kyle. I thought first half yesterday he was looking almost back to his best. Terrific performance.

Unfortunately, a bit like everyone else he was dogshite in the second half.

Agree with this. I think he's been a bit stunted with the timing of his injury but I have no doubt he'll be a player. He'll continue to improve and be a massive player for us for the rest of the season.

  18. For me if LM is to leave in January, Celtic would have to up their bid to no less than seven figures cash and a hefty sell on. He's that important. If not let his contract run down and take the comp. The comp value would be the same as Celtic are offering for buy and loan back anyway.
