  1. 5 minutes ago, Stuart Dickson said:

It is not in the manifesto. She has no mandate. Indeed several who voted for the SNP said they would not do so if indy ref 2 was on their agenda.

I don't really see any problem here, NS has stated that she will pursue legal channels for Indyref2 following Scotland voting to remain part of EU and being taken out because of the vote in the rest of the UK.

Indyref2 will be a democratic yes/ no vote the same as the last one based on the outcome of an historic referendum.  If Scotland vote No again fine if they vote Yes then we break away from the UK.  It's democracy, just because it was a no vote in 2014 does not mean that we should never ever ever get another chance for independence.  If anything that's not democratic.

The only reason Indyref2 is getting called is because of a fundamental change affecting the people of Scotland, if the Brexit/in had went other ways Indyref2 would not be discussed.

I mean whats the problem? Scotland wants to remain in the EU - NS is exploring a way we can have a democratic vote to do this.  Well done her I fully support it

(not decided how I'll vote, want to see what information comes out and to be honest I think it's a wee bit narrow minded that you're a made up no supporter already without seeing any facts or information.  Reminds me of the unionist bigot Rangers fans we seen come out in numbers during 2014 that would vote no regardless of sense or fact)

  2. I

From watching the progress of the sign ups to the bid, one of the most noticeable and outstanding points to come out of the process is the number of distant supporters, and non-regular supporters, who for one reason or another, can't attend matches at all, or only on an occasional basis, and therefore don't have the chance to contribute to the club regularly through tickets, car park, hospitality, or whatever, but have now jumped at the chance to be financially involved, to secure it's future and maintain their links with the club. I know a good number will buy season tickets anyway, but it is the broader reach that this bid has tapped into so successfully, really helping to re-connect a lot of people with their club.

I spent many years not being able to attend matches due to being self-employed and having to constantly work weekends to try and grow a business, and it is now good being able to attend matches, and make a contribution to buy the buds, which feels like it will help to make a difference.

I actually feel that Buy the Buds will have a long-lasting positive effect on the club, and with Paisley applying for 2021 City of Culture, may well help in giving the town it's MoJo back.

Once again, well done to absolutely everyone involved in organising the bid, the fans from near and far who have signed up, and to those who are thinking about it, if you love the club and the town, get on board and see St. Mirren flourish in a bright new era for the club.

I wish we had done something like this years ago as an additional source of income for fans that want to contribute but struggle to make the games. Great wee source of income to spur the club on.

I just really hope the fans maintain their commitment and we don't see a big cancellation fall out.

  3. 30 days left and still need 410 people to sign up, I'm not liking the look of that. Would require 14 sign ups everyday to put this through. Would be a shame if it fails, £12 a month isn't a lot at all and we have a big enough fan base (13,000 likes on Facebook page alone). Would think fans that don't go to the games could help out their club with a direct debit that's less than the TV license!

  4. Not sure it's that daft. We're going to have Morton in our League Cup Group which means we'll be playing them at least 5 times next season, more if we were to meet them in the promotion play offs (no laughing at the back please) or either of the other two cups.

The Renny Cup served a purpose when they were fannying around in the seaside leagues, but now we are meeting regularly I don't think it's necessary.

Completely agree at senior level. Just think it would be an extra wee buzz for the under 20s squad to be in with a chance of winning one of the worlds oldest football tournaments. Would add something to pre-season as well, imagine would still see a decent crowd and could see who the shinning lights are in the under 20s potentially looking to break into the main squad for the upcoming season.

  5. This idea was thrown about last season but as far as I know never happened. I think it would be really good as part of the pre-season. Morton under 20s won the second tier and ours came third in the top tier. Would be a great chance for the lads to show what they can do and potential confidence boost if they win the trophy. Still get a decent crowd id imagine even if it's under 20s. Thoughts?

  6. Ashley loans 5 players to Sevco, with Sevco paying a chunk of the wages. Ashley has loaned Sevco the money need to pay the chunk of those wages. Ashley saves the money from the Newcastle wage bill and gets the loan paid back by Sevco.

Ashley wins financially, the SFA will be too sh*t scared to do anything about it and Sevco become Newcastle's feeder club. That's kinda cheered me up a bit after the McLean debacle.

And he develops 5 young Newcastle lads either for the first team or a potential future sale. Well done Mike I'd say.

  7. I voted Yes to an independent Scotland not for the SNP I do not agree with a lot of what they say but I believe independence would be best for this nation. The idea that giving democratic power to the people of a country is not the correct decision is laughable. Oil is a bonus for this country not the be all and end all, look at our other natural resources, fresh water resources, tourism, fishing, our potential for developing renewable energy . When people moan about Scotland going on about another referendum going against themselves with the 'once in a generation' stuff don't forget that it was the unionist side supported by our current UK government that went against the Edinburgh agreement by publishing the vow just before the referendum. The BBC was shown countless times to be biased along with most of the major national newspapers. Of course we are going to feel cheated. Now we remain in a country £1 trillion+ in debt with major cuts to come, Scottish tax payers funding English only projects, a biased national news agency and a very real chance of a racist political party gaining a level of influence in the next general election and leaving the EU against our will. Well done the 55%. Absolute fools.

All the stuff you mentioned above are digs at where (supposedly) SNP have got it wrong. Absolutely nothing to do with Scotland making its own decisions as a democratic country and the resources and income of Scotland being used for the benefit of Scotland. Clearly another no voters that's not understood the question. 'Should Scotland be an independent country?' What you've read is 'Do you like the SNP?'

Also, are you stating wind farms are a bad idea..... Hmm
