Faraway Saints figures are woefully inaccurate. Only 1 in 3 adults in the US own a gun of any description - not 88.8% of all Americans, that would be utterly bonkers.
Just to add another bit to this story btw - there was another death in Orlando last night. A 2 year old boy was paddling in the Seven Seas Lagoon at Walt Disney World near the Magic Kingdom when an alligator dragged him out into the water and drowned him. The father had attempted to save his son and wrestled with the alligator. Now if only he had a gun.

Read my post again. I am pointing out that America is not the gun totting nation full of lunatic gun slingers that Piers Morgan likes to pretend it is. Responsible gun owners keep their guns at home - not for break ins at all - but because they only use their guns for hunting. As with every other part of the world, terrorists, gangsters, and other criminals will be able to obtain guns whether they are illegal or not.
However, perhaps had more US citizens been carrying their handguns at the Pulse nightclub, there would have been far fewer deaths.
That's the NRA argument. Say 200 in the nightclub, all with guns. Mad, gay Islamist starts spraying, all 200 join in, it would have been like a scene from From Dusk Till dawn.

So the Natsis are happy and they think they are off the hook. They f**ked up massively by cutting maintenance budgets on the bridge and cancelling work that was already overdue. The bridge breaks, the shit hits the fan, for 3-4 weeks businesses are severely damaged and commuters are massively inconvenienced. The SNP throw everything at it, including workers building the new crossing, and they now look like they'll get it open just in time for the holiday period....and how the Natsis cheer.
Its just more evidence that the Natsis care more about the party than they do Scotland.

That first sentence is NOT logical. That's your problem, right there.
The sentence is logical, I would argue. There was a probability, not just a possibility, that he would pass out at some stage whilst driving.

Surely he was culpable in that he knew that eventually he would have a blackout whilst he was driving, and given that most of the time he was driving it was a 13 ton bin lorry, incapable of being redirected or stopped from within the cab. If I were to sit on Ayr beach, starting at 5am, with a random alarm going off at irregular intervals, and each time I heard it, throw a stone into the water, I know that eventually I would hit someone either on the beach or in the water, and when it happened I'd be charged with assault. Why si that so different from the George Square scenario? Is it just too logical for the legal mind, i.e. ye cannae make money oot o' it if all it takes is logic?
