salmonbuddie Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 I know I can copy V+ recordings to VCR or DVD but does anyone know if you can copy to a laptop and how it's done? I'm not great with these things so advice for hardware needed would be appreciated too. Quote
FS Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Nah you can't AFAIK, been trying to do it myself and haven't succeeded. Apparently there's some sort of hack that let's you expand the hard drive, some say it works some say it needs major technical expertise. Some info may be gleamed from this forum, but they tend to lock down any topics that suggest illegallness... http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.pl?board=cable Quote
salmonbuddie Posted January 28, 2011 Author Report Posted January 28, 2011 Thanks anyway, FS, looks like I need to buy that DVD recorder then. Quote
jimdickloyal Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Could you not copy to a dvd then copy again to the laptop? Quote
salmonbuddie Posted January 30, 2011 Author Report Posted January 30, 2011 Could you not copy to a dvd then copy again to the laptop? You can copy directly to a DVD recorder or a VCR, but I've only got a DVD player and I got rid of my VCR when I got the box. Quote
FS Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 You can copy directly to a DVD recorder or a VCR, but I've only got a DVD player and I got rid of my VCR when I got the box. An analogue video capture card installed in the laptop might do it, but a dvd recorder is probably cheaper these days. Quote
salmonbuddie Posted January 30, 2011 Author Report Posted January 30, 2011 I was thinking about upgrading my DVD system anyway so I'll have a look around and see what's out there - any recommendations, FS? Quote
