SMFCFansCouncil's Achievements

Ball Boy

Ball Boy (2/14)

  1. The St.Mirren Fans Council AGM is Thursday 12th November at the club's Hospitality Suite. It's a 7pm start and all St.Mirren supporters are welcome. Happy to answer any questions on our current projects and plans for the future. Would appreciate if fans could register their attendance at [email protected] to manage numbers.
  2. The Fans Council's aims and objectives are stated clearly on the website www.supportsmfc.co.uk We aim to help the club in any way we can and offer our fellow supporters an avenue to connect to the club. We celebrate our clubs history with evenings such as our Anglo Scotttish Cup legends evening . We raise money for the club including the youth academy from events such as the recent annual golf day where we raised over £1.000. We work with our future supporters , the children of our our fans in events such as the Topps day and open days. We will work with whoever controls and owns St.Mirren but have no constitutional aims for Fans ownership. We will try and provide better facilities for our loyal supporters by building a supporters club at the stadium. What do we have in common with SMISA ? We both only want the best for the future of our club.
  3. Supporter Club Update Just providing an update re New Supporters Club and giving feedback on points raised by our fellow supporters. Firstly every Fans Council member who wishes to join the new SMFC 1877 Supporters Club will pay the same rate and on the same terms as every other supporter who joins. Our minutes reflect we do not want any preferential treatment nor do we seek it. The biggest talking point on this forum would appear to be about "signing in" a mate. We have obviously discussed this issue so it's not news to us. There are a number of difficulties with this such as the following: How do we ensure there is no overcrowding ? How do we make sure that regular paying members are not disadvantaged by the odd supporter who turns up from time to time. Do we rely on a system where members advise us they will not be using the facility and free up a place ? Who manages this ? When you sign a pal in does he get in free when members are paying their monthly contribution ? Of course not ! We are open to suggestions to resolve this in a fair manner which DOES NOT disadvantage our paying supporter club members Let us put it another way .... Would you like to go to a sports cafe bar where St.Mirren supporters are welcome ? Would you like to be encouraged to wear your club scarfs and St.Mirren tops in the bar ? Would you like to be in an environment which encourages the singing of Saints songs ( the clean ones) ? Would you like to meet Saints players after a game for a chat ? Would you prefer to put your hard earned money in to the football club you support or a local bar owner ? If the answer is YES there are only 75 places available at this time on Friday evening at 6pm The choice is yours. This is your supporters club !
  4. St.Mirren Fans Council Update 200 member application in 12 hours. We expect to meet the 300 max capacity by tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who has applied and positive input to improvements. Change doesn't just happen ... You have to make it happen . St.Mirren Fans Council
  5. Supporters Club Update Following on from previous update and subsequent forum comments. The "signing in" option for members to sign in non members has been highlighted in a number of comments but we have to ensure paid members get access anytime they wish and the capacity is not exceeded. It may be possible in the future to sign in non members who pay to access the club if members advise us they will not be attending a match but this will not be available initially. We can't cover every possible scenario but a lot of debate has been carried out to offer memberships to all on a fair and reasonable basis. Revenue generated will assist our football club . Also, for the avoidance of doubt this is a Fans Council initiative supported by the club. We now have 150 applications for membership so the terms offered are proving popular with supporters with 50% of available memberships already reserved subject to payment of the Founders Fee. If you want change you have to make it happen ! Don't wait ! St.Mirren Fans Council
  6. Supporters Club Update We just wanted to provide an update at this point in time and answer some points raised on this forum to date.. We have received 100 applications in 2 hours. We are offering every supporter the same opportunity to join. We are limited by the official capacity to 300. The vast majority of the cost is being met by the club. We would have liked the ability to offer a sign in facility for friends but we have to make sure there are no health and safety issues with regard potential over crowding. We will monitor the occupancy rate and may review this in future. Our priority is to provide a facility for St.Mirren supporters not away fans . Hope this helps but you can e mail us at [email protected] for any specific questions you may have. Let's make a difference ! St.Mirren Fans Council
  7. The St.Mirren Fans Council would just like to say a big thank you to all our fellow Saints supporters for their thanks and good wishes on the new home kit. We are all St.Mirren ! Come on Ye Saints !
  8. Apologies Callum we will have the minutes updated and live on the website later this week . Thanks for pointing this out. Its been a busy season with Fans Zones, Anglo Scots Legends evenings, Strip design , Golf Days , lotteries, Open days and Topps Day all because we give our time free to help the club we love and support . Sometimes things get missed.
  9. For information on The St.Mirren Fans Council visit www.supportsmfc.co.uk There is a link from the clubs official website to the Fans Council site Minutes are published regularly in an open and transparent manner and you can e mail the Fans Council at [email protected] The difference between the fans council and SMISA is there is no agenda for fan ownership in its constitution The Fans Council designed next seasons strips and release dates for the new kit will be released shortly , with a view to having them on sale before we all go off on our Summer holidays.
  10. The St.Mirren Fans Council are delighted with the appointment of Ian Murray. A young manager who with limited resources and a part time team at Dumbarton has competed with Hearts, Rangers and Hibs. With 2 and a half years experience in the league we haven't competed in for 9 years his experience will be crucial. We would like to offer Ian our full backing and wish him every success for the future.
  11. One day after the general election and nearly 3.000 votes. These votes make a difference so please encouraged your friends and family to vote.
  12. We have been watching the comments from Stuart Dickson and hav'nt really got involved in the debate but when someone states something which is totally inaccurate we believe the correct information should be provided. Therefore please be advised the catalyst for the funding appeal for disabled supporters came from the St.Mirren Disabled Supporters Association seeking assistance to provide a better match day experience from both the weather and the view.If you watch the supporting video it is Iain Lawrie the Secretary of the Disabled Supporters Association who with his wife Janice, a wheelchair user herself states the need for the improvements and funding. The funding appeal is available for any charity and Alan Wardrop of The St.Mirren Charity , St.Mirren FC Community Trust prepared and submitted the application on behalf of the trust .Alan is also Chairman of The St.Mirren Fans Council. The club are fully supportive and have helped promote the appeal. For the avoidance of doubt this is a supporters initiative supported by a community charity and not a club initiative. The St.Mirren Fans Council and the 2,500 votes clearly demonstrate the support for this appeal to date.
  13. That's the Charity web page now received over 2,000 votes to support our wheelchair supporters. Many thanks to all who have voted to help to make a positive contribution to our disabled supporters. Voting is open until 31st May
  14. Thanks to Div and Black and White Army for raising the profile of the St.Mirren charity's appeal for votes to help our wheelchair supporters get a better deal at the stadium in terms of the view and protection from the weather.
  15. That's now 786 votes supporting the St.Mirren charity initiative to help our disabled wheelchair supporters in just two days ! Thanks to everyone who has voted to support this . Let's get it to a 1000 ! Voting is open until 31st May at the Aviva Community Fund Search under "disabled supporters appeal " and use your 10 votes to help our wheelchair using supporters
