There is no doubt that we have taken massive strides in the last couple of seasons. We do, however, seem incapable of taking the opportunities to take that next step to cement our position in the higher echelons of the league. The frustration, for me anyway, is that for all the times these opportunities have arisen it inevitably comes in a match that is winnable! Since the break wins at pittodrie, Easter road and the Dundee games were tremendous results and then today comes……
the incident with the manager at the end is a bit of a concern too
Have never understood players and management wanting, probably forced, to go to the supporters at the end of a match. An incident waiting to happen.

I have no memory of that bridge.
Did it link the Canal St line with the “other side”?
It crossed the Glasgow Road and headed towards the main Paisley to Glasgow railway track close to the Barbers where the Lion sits above.
The Lyon family ran a coal merchants business around the railway area and I would guess the family owned the house. In the late fifties Tom Lyon ran a taxi company.
The typical railway arches are still in place at the bottom of Greenlaw Drive just before the entrance to Kelburne Cricket Club. The track then continued to join the main track at the side of the foot bridge that takes you to Gallowhill Road. Where the houses are at Arkleston Drive was what was called a shunting area.
At one time there was 8 tracks in use.
When the circus came to town the animals were brought by train to the shunting yard at Wallneuk before they were paraded to the Racecourse in Greenock Road.

I'm not big fan of bringing ex players back but I'd make an exemption for a Lewis Morgan or any the Mcginn clan to keep the bloodline
Agree, normally a few good games and then a run down to their pension.

Who could Burnley sign despite the transfer window being closed?
According to TEAMtalk, Burnley have broken through to strike a deal with Scottish Premiership side St Mirren to sign talented young centre-back Murray Campbell, who is seen as a 'potential star in the making' at Turf Moor, subject to international clearance.
Interest in Campbell has been high-profile over recent times and it is believed that Burnley have stolen a march on the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace to bring the 17-year-old to England.Born in 2006, Campbell has been capped five times at Scotland Under-18 level and has also been courted by Sky Bet Championship side Leicester City in the past, as per The Daily Record.

Just to be clear and I'm pretty sure you'll be aware of this: There is a difference between the Smisa board and the club board
Furthermore, neither served on the club board at the same time as the other. Sorry if I'm being pedantic 😁😁
I declare that I am a shareholder in St Mirren Foootball Club. What I fail to understand is why SMISA and Kibble each are allowed to appoint, not nominate, two representatives on the Board of St Mirren Football Club. When I purchased my shares I had the opportunity to vote in or out each and every Director at an AGM. This opportunity has now been removed. Even if Mr McMillan is found to have done a wrong, Kibble could continue with his appointment to the Club Board of Directors. If its true with the allegiance of two of the Directors elswhere they should be nowhere near our Boardroom. At least in the past we new the Directors were wearing Black and White scarves. Will they declare their interest in the event of any relevant matters that may come to a vote. e.g B teams in the pyramid system. I would certainly not have voted for Mr McMillan, being polite, since his body language at the AGM to me said it all.
To continue to be successful on and off the field the Company require a united front and I dont think that is going to happen under the current convoluted management structure.

Look at how few people must have owned cars.
Now both sides of the road are filled with cars parked.
I don’t remember buses coming up Moss Street.
Did those buses turn left after Bryce’s TV shop past the GPO or head up to the High Street?
I assume they never tried to go up School Wynd. 😂
I don’t ever remember being inside Bryce’s TV shop but used to always check the final scores on the way back from Love St through the windows.
If memory serves me correct Cunninghams route was Renfrew Ferry to Old Sneddon Street and ran empty into Moss Street and parked up until it the scheduled time to go back to the ferry leaving from County Square. I guess services were suspended for a few hours in 1959.

Just hope that the players who are leaving don't down tools for fear of injury.
Easy solution. Don't play them and they will lose a win bonus.

Like many other buds, I’d walk up North Street and Back Sneddon occasionally after games to cross the wee bridge across the cart . Don’t remember seeing this at all. I’m talking mid - late 70s Era.
That was also my route and what we called "shortcut" . Cross footbridge into Wallace Street and instead of walking straight on to Love Street, turned left at junction of Back Sneddon which is where Irvine Caravan Showroom was exactly before turning into North Street. Later became a Plumber Merchants.

I am imagine that if Lineker had said "we must stop the boats, and send back all the illegals", or something along those lines, there would have been a similar outcry. Ultimately he's a public servant, and when receiving public money is supposed to remain neutral on contentious political issues. Whilst the BBC is publicly funded, it must be seen to be politically neutral, and despite @antrin's claims to the contrary, it clearly isn't and will never likely to be - which is why it should no longer be financed by extorting money from the public with the threat of a fine, which itself is enforced by the threat of imprisonment.
Correction needed. You said on Monday that as BBC employee his opinions reflect on his employer. He is not employed by the BBC. He is self employed.
Nor is he a public servant. The argument may be the same but his contract is not as an employee.

Lucky you. After the build it was given. Usual disgraceful behaviour from Naymar feigning injury. The ref had to walk almost the whole length of the park before he got up. Ref got his revenge by booking him later in the game. Why do the pundits not start calling out these cheats. What talent he has but spoils it for me with his antics.

A small project that accounted for 10% of the club turnover?
The training ground is used every single day. It is a key operational resource.
On here I’d hazard a guess that no one actually has any idea who was ultimately responsible for the “project management”.It could have been any number of parties:
Kibble / Club / The contractor(s)
Whoever was involved it was clearly a cluster fcuk resulting in significant overspend and massive delays where the players could not fully use the academy for around two years.
Significant failings should not have occurred with “high quality governance and experienced project management”.
Cards on the table, my knowledge of Kibble was walking past on my way to the racecourse many years ago.
Surely the blame is being diverted from the real culprits. It is the Board of Directors of SMFC who should be lambasted. As previously mentioned the response at the AGM from probably the only person on the board with the building knowledge replied to the question of his involvement "I was not asked" he didn't need to be asked, he was in a position of responsibility to ensure that decisions in the interest of the club were approved. It gets worse, the follow up question asked "who was in charge" . After a pregnant pause our Chairman replied "Tony" followed by a follow up question who was in charge of Tony. Not once did our Chairman accept responsibility for this or our huge financial loss. At the end of the day our Chairman carries the can and should have resigned due to his incompetence and taken some of the others with him.

I don’t see how it could be considered very big. £400k hardly buys you a decent house in a good area nowadays.

One of my favourites Jim Rodgers. A true winger Reminds me of the day in front of Cairters corner playing Hearts and lost the plot with the full back. After another bad tackle jumped up and stood on his body and just kept walking to the tunnel before the ref had time to send him off.
