  1. When Turgid asked us to judge the SNP on their record we weren't to know she meant their police record.
  2. Certainly a bad week for any lingering thoughts of independence the SNP supporters once had. Deluded, was the word. But still, the polls show that in May it will be the SNP exclusively getting to bite deeply into the massive shit sandwich the tories have served up to them. By the end of their next term that will have been 15 years they've been destroying Scotland and blaming everyone else. I'm sure their support will be disappointed at the lack of social progress even if it hasn't dawned on the brain donor yet that they have been taken for absolute mugs by a bunch of Scottish politicians. Hey ho.
  3. I think you'll find that the house remained there. It wasn't a David Copperfield magic trick where the property disappeared. So the number of houses remained the same. Buy to let took off under Labour anyway.
  4. I'd like to see how strident you are in reality. I suspect I'll be confronted by a wheezing bloater in a pair of jobby catchers, pockets stuffed with empty Greggs bags.
  5. Define "real". Considering your own grip on reality is tenuous to say the least..
  6. Yes it was. Then it fell again to virtually the same level as she started with. Why was that dullard? And why did GDP increase by nearly 30% during this same process? Could it possibly be because we were no longer using taxpayers money to subsidise dead industries like coal? If you go and talk to miners now, theyll tell you that their union leader actually took the industry down. Not her. She attempted to prop up the coal industry in the first term of her government. Indeed she continued to subsidise it way beyond its worth. If you want to whine about the coal industry in the UK then I suggest you take a look at coal output from the turn of the last century right through to now. You might gain some understanding of what was going on if you do. Then again...
  7. Unemployment did rise from 5.3% to 7.5% during her time in office. But Employment as a whole rose. Unemployment rose to nearly 12% during the recession when Major was in power before falling back again. GDP rose by 29% under Thatcher.
  8. The miners walked away with tremendous pay offs. They were ALL offered retraining (which many of them took up) the older ones simply retired and the feckless spent it in the pubs and bookies while being taxied between both. My old boss used a grant available in one of these areas to set up in business. He then hired me and I worked for him before starting up on my own. A lot of the younger miners went on to work in the electronics sector that Thatcher had encouraged to go into the areas worst hit by the end of heavy industry. They tended to be good, clean and well paid jobs. When Thatcher came to power, manufacturing and industry was 27.5% of the UK economy. When she left it was 25% of the economy. It was under Labour that it reduced down to 11% But don't let any of these facts get in the way of one of your tear streaked wails.
  9. You are quite the fantasist. By the way. Feel free to come to the address I gave you and say these things to my face.
  10. No its not free. Its free at point of use for folk. Had we gone independent we would have ended up with a two tier system along the lines of the Irish model. As Alex Bell mentioned in his piece, to peddle UK levels of welfarism and state spending as well as low taxation was actually a fraud. Peddled by the mendacious or the totally deluded.
  11. My old dear got a hip replacement done at the Carrick Glen private hospital in Ayr done by the same surgeon that was meant to be doing it at the Ayr hospital. The Scottish NHS paid for it in order to keep their waiting times for "routine operations" done. So even the SNP run scottish NHS happily procures services from the private healthcare sector.
  12. The days of rocking up in a suit to plead with the bank manager for a loan or mortgage were gone.
  13. Still no follow up to my alleged hate crime. Why is that? Did your bottle crash that you'd be named?
  14. Did they cease to be dwellings? No. Did they cease to be dwellings in state control? Yes. "The rich" already are healthier than "the poor" in Scotland and have better cancer survival rates too. Yet its all free. Why is that?
  15. You've just made your own unprovable claim. Right to buy didn't reduce any housing stock at all. It reduced political control of housing stock, which is a good thing.
  16. Its definitely Perthshirebell. He used to spend hours in here in the middle of the night talking to himself about Scottish independence. Its a shame really
  17. http://qz.com/553733/isils-terrorism-is-not-a-reaction-to-western-foreign-policy/ Fairly well argued I'd say
  18. Id just like to let everyone know that I wasn't the subject of a police dawn raid this morning.

  22. To the police again? They must have had a busy day all thanks to you. Are you that clown from Perth that used to spend hours talking to yourself on here?
