  1. Big Sam in the news again http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/watch-mickey-taking-mascot-enrage-9524572
  2. Last season I compared an afternoon out at Greenhill Road with an afternoon at Benburb. St Mirren came up short back then too. It's all relevant Oaksoft - the club isn't going to reach it's £5m per annum turnover target without improving the match day experience dramatically. What was so good about the day at the Bens? Well I was able to turn up at the ground 45 minutes early, park in their car park, go to their social club without being signed in, where I could buy a soft drink and a pie for less than £2 - and shhhh don't tell anyone else on here, but they even had the club kit on sale for those who wanted to buy one. They were playing against Newmains - the club Kenny Morrison used to advertise to female shoppers at Asda - so the opposition wasn't of a particularly good standard, but the match was enjoyable enough especially given the admission price was around 25% of that at Greenhill Road.
  3. So do I. You'd rather ignore all the problems, hope that they miraculously sort themselves and when they don't you'll wallow in self pity.
  4. Would this Hitler analogy come under your interpretation of the positives of being a do'er rather than a talker?
  5. Huh? St Mirren have £9k kindly donated by the mugs at SMiSA, under the promise that the £9k will save the season.
  6. I can't see it but you never know. Sunderland have banked on Defoe's goals to get them out of the relegation dogfight. Survival in the Premiership would be worth way more than either West Ham or Crystal Palace could offer. Stranger things have happened I guess but I'd suspect that Sunderland will be working far harder offloading a number of players Moyes clearly doesn't fancy to free up some money for new deals. From what I've seen and heard Joel Asoro will be a ready made replacement for Defoe but at 17 it's a bit too much for him just yet.
  7. Only because whoever wrote the article is calling it a committee rather than a board - which is how the Constitution describes it. The whole SMiSA set up is looking like a cluster f**k of the highest order. Utterly shambolic. The fact there is no clarity about who is a board member or not - even amongst people who are attending board meetings - highlights the massive failings going on in there right now. The SMISA board don't look fit for purpose at all, indeed SMiSA doesn't look fit for purpose at all and yet members are trusting this shower with over £15,600 per month.
  8. More likely it will be because the players weren't good enough. More time on the training pitch is what they require. It would certainly do them more good than reading a forum.
  9. Right here - in the article which was written AFTER the Who IS SMiSA page was created stating that he is a SMiSA board member http://www.smisa.net/news-archive/5-general-smisa-news/221-smisa-director-election-results-announced There hasn't been any resignation notified to members. Therefore he is STILL a SMISA board member, as well as the rep on the SMFC Ltd Club Board. In fact I'd go further and say it would be astounding if he had resigned his SMiSA board status and was no longer the SMISA representative on the club board.
  10. You're wrong. He's on the board http://www.smisa.net/news-archive/5-general-smisa-news/221-smisa-director-election-results-announced There has been no resignation notice issued to members since then either.
  11. On this issue I definitely agree with you. I think it's crazy to have put out the begging bowl in such a blatant and obvious manner emptying the cash pot on just the second quarter and to do it on the basis of bolstering the wage budget is damned embarrassing. Jack Ross will now be under extreme pressure from the St Mirren support to spent their money wisely, whatever player comes in is going to have his performances and his social behaviour put under intense scrutiny, and if St Mirren don't finish 9th or above Gordon Scott and Jack Ross are going to look extremely foolish. The potential for lost memberships - like mine - and for others if this tapping into the fund continues must be considerable as members can agree to respect a democratic vote, but at the end of the day there is nothing there to tie them in for the full 10 year period if it looks like SMiSA are as hopeless as they look right now, and if it looks like the St Mirren board are taking everyone for a ride. If Gordon Scott was going to go cap in hand for cash then he should have done it on a cash for equity basis, giving SMiSA a larger % shareholding right now, on a loan basis, or on a matched basis with every shareholder being asked to contribute a similar amount per share. And the SMISA board can't be let off the hook for this either. They are the ones who gerrymandered the vote to exclude all other options - like the portable shelters - from the vote to make this exclusively a "yes / no" vote on spending the cash. Disgraceful behaviour from all concerned and so early in the process too.
  12. Agree completely Kombi. Whether this is down to poor information on a website, or the lack of minutes from meetings it's shambolic at best. Factor into that the job description for the club director post that has since disappeared off the website - but which specified that those applying must have experience of law, accountancy or of project management when infact it was open to any member and it's hard not to just shake your head in bewilderment at the state of the Supporters Association at the club. I'm glad I stopped handing over membership fees. Once there is some proper transparacy, and a board in place that I can trust and which is willing to live up to it's claims about community involvement I may review my decision, but in the meantime my money is going elsewhere.
  13. Well according to rebella only 8 members are elected - one is appointed as secretary, and the Chairman is selected from those who were elected - so that makes 9. The SMISA website lists 11. Kenny Morrison seems to believe he's been co-opted on to the SMISA Board, despite not being mentioned on the SMISA who are we pages, and claimed he raised the issue about missing minutes, while David Riley appears certain Kenny and him haven't been and don't have any formal input. No-one seems to know if David Nicol is on the SMISA board or if he resigned, despite the news article claiming he would work on both boards. And amongst all of that SMISA still haven't produced the minutes of their meetings, still don't have a business plan and in six months of club ownership the Community Benefit Society - which rebella claimed wasn't a Community Benefit Society despite the constitution, and their registration with the charities commission - has yet to put on a single even that benefits the community. And yet some on here - including you - still argue that this mob are fit to run a football club.
  14. If he's going to quote me he could at least do it right
  15. I did not state it was fact. I said it was the truth.
  16. Oh yes, that is my opinion. I think it's a far more realistic appraisal of a player in a side sitting adrift at the bottom of the Scottish Championship than much of the deluded shit I see on here though - and even in my home from my own son. Do you think Kyle McAllister would have been picked ahead of Victor Anichebe yesterday?
  17. It is the truth that St Mirren are bottom of the second tier - The Championship. Surely that is obvious.
  18. Ach I wouldn't bother with that. As a member I found that there was a 50% chance that someone would reply. They'd ask for proposals for the ballot for spending funds, and then ignored my suggestion neither putting it on the ballot paper or offering any explanation why it was left off, and they asked for questions to be sent in from members, which I still was when I sent it, for them to put to the club board at the AGM, and they didn't ask the question I put forward. When you look at the state of how SMiSA are being run I honestly don't think I could trust them to run a football club on behalf of a football club customer base.
  19. Yep, agree with this. No-one has gerrymandered the leagues to put St Mirren in a false position. There's been no points deductions, just piss poor football. What I find revealing, and I'm hearing it from my two sons as well, is that St Mirren fans appear to be accepting the woeful results and lowly league position while talking up the abilities of a number of St Mirren players. One of my sons claimed yesterday having watched the Manchester United v Sunderland match that Kyle McAllister would do well in the Sunderland squad. The truth is that he's millions of miles away from being good enough for the Under 23's squad never mind the Premiership itself.
  20. I knew Kenny had indicated that David Riley and he had been co-opted to the SMISA board. If you take David Rileys post at face value it appears even SMiSA board members don't know if they are board members or not. What a f**king ridiculous organisation this is turning out to be.
  21. Really? Kenny Morrison appeared to think he had been co-opted on and was posting as though he was a SMiSA board member.
  22. I did the same BinEK, however we're correct. Cockles will be arguing that David Nicol is not a SMiSA board member. Yet there has been no notification of his resignation from the SMiSA board, and SMiSA themselves failed to mention that the winner of the Club Director election would have to resign his post. Indeed the SMISA director election paperword specifically said that the winner of the election would have to attend both club board and SMISA board meetings. http://www.smisa.net/news-archive/5-general-smisa-news/221-smisa-director-election-results-announced Cockles can argue the symantics all day long if he wants, but the fact is that the SMISA website is misleading, the SMISA membership don't know who their elected representatives are. There's no mention of David Riley and Kenny Morrison who have been co-opted onto the SMiSA board, and there's been no notification of any resignations. Even more ridiculous is that some SMiSA board members continue to post on this forum hiding behind an alias. No minutes of meetings, no transparency, members don't know if SMiSA board members were co-opted into their posts or elected. It's yet another St Mirren style car crash.
  23. http://www.smisa.net/who-we-are 11 on this page, plus David Riley and Kenny Morrison who were both coopted onto the board.
  24. Yesterday I enjoyed a trip to Old Trafford courtesy of my step daughter who had gifted tickets me my two sons and me for the Man U v Sunderland match. It's an expensive place to watch football bit I loved every minute of it. We were in the Stretford end at the front and had a superb view of "that" goal yesterday. My son and I also encountered no issues when Borini scored his wonder goal and we rather exuberantly applauded whilst surrounded by Man U fans. 75,000 in attendance, two highly skilled football teams - Defoe's first touch is a thing of beauty I have to say - and beaming smiles on our faces despite the result. It's hard to be gutted when a your team has put on a real show and only been beaten by brilliance. Paisley on the 31st.....wonder if the experience will compare.
