  1. No imagination needed, oaky, most on here care about others and you only care about you, we all get that.
  2. You're getting Nicola Stuegeon and Ruth Davidson mixed up, fs.
  3. Aye, he's still got the voice even after all these years.
  4. I posted it in the Boris thread too, before you did here, so, yes, defo, worth posting twice [emoji846]
  5. I keep quoting your posts so what's sauce for the goose and all that... [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  6. His manifesto was basically trying to emulate lots of things already in place in Scotland so I guess by 'country' you mean UK, most of Scotland doesn't seem to think they're far too left wing if the fact that we keep electing politicians enabling them is anything to go by. Don't know if you saw or read this link I posted in the Referendum thread but it does demonstrate that the WM Government is the odd one out in Northern Europe. https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocracyuk/scotland-isnt-different-its-britain-thats-bizarre/ You may or may not agree but I think this helps demonstrate why we need to leave this dis-United Kingdom. Edited to fix link. Then to sort the quote out...
  7. Nurse! Nurse! He's off his meds again... [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
  8. Where have I done that before, oaky? Come on now, be specific. And for a scientist your question lacks logic. If something's indefensible how can it be defended? For clarity, I'm not defending anything, only pointing out what's obvious to lots of us. Again, show some examples of my blind spot re people acting like a total c**t.
  9. Anyone with any degree of empathy would understand that the 'chuckle' reference was ironic. Wonder why you missed it oaky?
  10. More power is likely to move from Edinburgh to London if reports are to be believed. Just another broken promise from 2014 if that turns out to be the case.
  11. That's almost exactly how I pictured him, have you hacked his online photo account? [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
  12. Aye, next thing you know he'll be telling us he's down with kids... [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
  13. Also interesting https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocracyuk/scotland-isnt-different-its-britain-thats-bizarre/
  14. Interesting take https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/dec/16/scotland-may-follow-bougainvilles-lead-in-snp-quest-for-independence?CMP=share_btn_fb
  15. You're losing it, oaky, which of these ad hominem attacks do you want to choose as applicable to me, they're describing me as two completely different things. Why not just admit you made a roaring arse of it again?
  16. How would you know if it's about empathy or not, oaky, the entire concept's alien to you? As usual you resort to name calling in an attempt to deflect, it's a tired tactic and everyone sees it for what it is, your equivalent of conceding the argument by going all ad hominem. Do you know what does make a difference to the lives of "these people"? Me getting off my arse and doing practical things to help. By doing that, I get to understand what they've been through and what they're going through. I'll finish with a quote that did the rounds during the GE campaign: “When you’re not doing so well, vote for a better life for yourself. If you are doing quite nicely, vote for a better life for others” It’s socialism, it’s humanity, it’s not being a c**t. I think we all know which of those boxes you can tick.
  17. Are you really this dense or is it an act, I honestly can't make my mind up. Whilst I appreciate the free lifestyle teachings of the guru oskster, and just so we're clear, I, personally, have never accepted, or would ever accept, a zero hours contract. I, personally, can understand that some people, for varying reasons, lack the wherewithal to do any of the things you describe. I, personally, do not sit at home whining about my lot in life. I, personally, have a well paid job giving me just about everything I need without having to choose between heat and food. Your failure to understand empathy never ceases to amaze me.
  18. Don't think they saw a 'need', faraway, more likely a way to maximise profits - I don't have a problem with companies maximising profits but not at the expense of their workers. I'll accept that zero hours contracts work for some people - very few but they are still the best option for them - but it should be the individual's choice, not one foisted on them. Let's be clear, these are people who want to work, is it really unreasonable for them to have set hours/income if that's what they need?
  19. Ffs, again with this pish? Okay, once more with feeling. Alex Salmond in an interview offered his opinion that the original indyref was a "once in a generation opportunity" and I, for one, agreed with him at the time. Not policy, not written down, not a lie, just an honest opinion. Circumstances have changed, indyref2 is coming soon, get used to it.
  20. And that, folks, is why we need to change.
  21. I'm not "beaten", you've added nothing beyond your subjective opinion to any of the objective points I've made. Perhaps if you do I might change my mind, just like I did in thinking that the original indyref was a once in a generation opportunity.
  22. Read my first post, Boris doesn't have the authority or the right to say no to the will of the people of Scotland as confirmed in the House of Commons in June 2018. As I've already explained.
  23. No, because the people of Scotland say so as I explained before. Are you being deliberately obtuse or is it just natural?
