  1. You are right, we will know soon enough. I think Wednesday will be quite an eye opener as to the reasons/people who stopped the final funding from being received. Out of interest, I'd like to know the site stats for how many unique visitors and forums stats for contributors when the CiC recruitment process was in full swing. You're right, there have been very few contributors here over the last couple months and this may be an indicator of ongoing interest. However, was there really that more a few months ago when 800 people signed up? Like I said, I'd be interested to see as it may be an acid test. To add to speculation re how to raise more finance or repay more, the other way that reborn and lochwinnoch didn't mention would be to get more people to sign up. This might be a tough one to pull off, but also, if the new proposal is improved and maybe more attractive then maybe the 800 who have signed up might increase... That might be a proposal?!
  2. Thought I'd copy and paste the content of the email that came out yesterday, for those who didn't get it.
  3. Green Dot for that, we can agree
  4. Spot on Rick. Somner9 and others like him (scottd for example) prefers a "bid" that the "bidders" have been silent about for some reason, no-one knows the details of how it will be funded, there have been no meetings about, no information released, no promise of fan involvement, no means of asset-locking, no guarantee of unpaid board members or fan governance, no way of knowing whether the club assets will be used as security, no clue who is involved and no way of knowing whether revenue will be increased or gates will improve and no obvious route to get the community involved with the club. And he reckons the CiC hasn't released enough information...
  5. And he is currently part of the set up that has no debt. If he becomes the major player in that, will it still be the case that there is none...?
  6. That's the beauty Scott, it isn't Richard who'll be leading it and he won't be around forever... Maybe for a time, but we'll all, you and me and Sid and SO77 and Tsu and Feegie Saint and, heaven forbid, Bluto we'll be here for years and our kids after us and if this works then we/they'll have a genuine stake in the club, we'll have the opportunity to shape it moving forward and we'll have the chance to do something for the town. If it works it'll go a long way to ensure that the club will be here for our kids and their kids. I'm not trying to scaremonger, I'm just putting eggs into this basket as I think it is the most secure. Maybe I've appeared like I have an agenda and maybe it seems I have been anti those who are against it. Perhaps my enthusiasm got the better of me. Fair enough if you don't feel the same way, but I think it might be our only chance to make it really ours and I'd love to give it a go!
  7. Still speculation...! But a great way forward for the club and one that I'd welcome! Time will tell whether any of the non bids are of that nature!
  8. Give us certain assurances on the other side then. Go on, give us all a way that it'll work that has no speculation. It's only alarmist talk if there is nothing to be alarmed about. But in recent years we have lost Livvie, Gretna, Airdrie, Dundee are in trouble, Hearts, Dung, R*nfers are all in trouble. And that's just the ones off the top of my head. These are alarming times and the outlook isn't good for many clubs. We are in a good position due to the great job that our BoD have done and also due to a good slab of luck. It only takes someone not so careful and some bad luck and we can go the way of those others. So go on, we're all ears.
  9. What does that mean? Who has £2M of their own money to spend on 52% of St Mirren? No-one. So, where will Mr prudent get the money? Bank, Venture Capital trust? Chums who have leant to him? How will Mr Prudent pay bak these lenders and on what will the borrowing be secured? Taking a wage? The stadium? What happens when Mr Prudent falls into financial difficulty? He has been taking money out of the club of years to pay back debt that was owed to buy the shares, that money now goes into him just generally affording to live and loans get defaulted on. The lenders take possession of the asset on which the loans are secured and all the good work done by SG and co has gone out the window. I appreciate this isn't the only scenario, but it is one of the most likely. Now, I agree if the club is run in a prudent way by someone then that'd be great. However there is no-one, short of a millionaire coming in for fun to take it on as a pet project. Which won't happen. The only way the 52% will be sold is by the buyer borrowing. The only type of borrowing that won't be secured on the club's assets or won't involve a wage leaving the club will be the type that the CiC have access to. There's hope that something unlikely can happen, Scott, then there is blind optimism based on nothing. I feel your dream of someone coming in and running everything nicely, keeping us out of debt and pumping their own money into the club for no return is at best blind optimism and worst pure ignorance. However, if the CiC model fails, I hope that you are right and I am wrong. It's the club that I care about, not any other agendas or ambitions.
  10. A shrew operator indeed, Somner9!
  11. Oh the irony. You couldny make it up. U-turn if you want, the Sidley is all for turning...
  12. That remains to be seen. This time next week (give or take an hour of three) we'll be closer to the truth.
  13. Because it was easier than typing the same thing twice. But thanks for your wisdom. It is so welcome Hope this helps? (?)
  14. Truly, I don't come on here to start gripes with other St Mirren fans and so I'm bowing out of this one, you can keep it going if you like. I reported you because I didn't like the way you were directly referring to me. I also don't come on to be abused by other Saints fans. As I said, I'm leaving it well alone and hoping that it doesn't happen again.

  16. Completely agree with this, in many ways they have picked an unfortunately bad time to try and sell...!
  17. Not that I can answer on behalf of the mods but Feegie Saint used homophobic and arguably racist comments on a lot of his previous posts. I think that was why he was banned. And FWIW, there are those that are wanks on here! Some, and you know who, have (for whatever reason) launched a smear campaign against REA and the CiC generally. Those who tried to stick up for the man or the CiC notion, probably because they had taken the time to meet with him and discuss their concerns, we're accused of wanting a place on some sort of board. With the exception of Somner9 every counter-CiC arguement has been along the lines of " he doesn't even run a company", "he's a dick", "you are an arselicker" or "there are no scarves". The case levelled against those who are on the side of the CiC is that we just call those against names... However that is what that anti lot do too! The only difference is, we have bothered to look into it, go to them with our concerns and hear what they have to say.
  18. This is pure speculation but I think it might be as much to do with where the money will come from, what it will be secured on and how it will be paid back that is the issue with the KMcG bid...
  19. I think you should come along to the meeting next week as you may be pleasantly surprised by the revised proposals...
  20. Almost correct, "A RIGHT BAWBAG"... Hope this helps.
  21. Bluto's just trying to jump on the anti-CiC bandwagon, cos he thinks it's cool.
