Scottish government in turmoil after the power sharing agreement with the Green Party falls apart.

I think they’ve had to ditch the Greens as it’s harming them with undecided voters….id guess there have already been behind the scene talks with Alba to make sure the inevitable “no confidence” vote is as secure as it can be

Oh, don't put Tierney on the right, it took some time for him and Robertson, remember the first few games, to blend.

Anyhow, roll on 14th June, hope you've got your motor home journey planned. 👍

I'd certainly prefer Tierney where he is but he's possibly more replaceable at LCB than Hickey is at RWB.

Flights to Stuttgart all sorted, Motorhome booked and pick-up arranged with 70% of our berths booked.....trying to leave a little flexibility between games to maybe head into Black Forest area etc. Can't wait for it to be honest although a little concerned about two weeks in a confined space with the Mrs and our youngest (20yo) daughter Season 2 Starz GIF by Outlander

With the injuries in our defensive positions it will allow other names to come in.

I'm just concerned about our lack of quality althout Patterson, a player I've had confidence in, did have a recent nightmare, possibly down to a lack of time on the pitch.

Aye, hopefully Hickey can get fit (I prefer him to Patterson) but even if he's 90% fit this allows us to take him and someone else (Stephen O'Donnell probably if history is anything to go by). It could also allow us to push Tierney over to RWB if required.

Squad sizes have increased from 23 to 26.

Not sure we have the depth of squad to add 3 players who would improve our starting 11.

I think in our case it's more about cover and might allow us to take a risk on a player who is recovering from injury and "might" just make it.

    For sure

Getting the best out of players is great, But if their best isn't very good then we need better, All our Forward players will be here next season and with Dundee United coming up, Aberdeen n Hibs sure to be better, we need better than we have

For all that is true I remember reading all the same last year about how teams would improve and we'd struggle if we stood still. We are where we are this year through good coaching and most of the players playing well most of the time....it'll ever be thus.

Me too. Just can’t see it being Ayunga or Mandron.

Could it be Stav, I'm sure his club said they were hopeful he may get an opportunity either with another club in the top division or the championship

Aye, health and safety, costing the country  a fecking fortune................

Anyhow, wasn't a bad day after all, fairly bright as forecast and dry all day.

Had a "ding dong" with the boss this morning which got the day off to a flyer.

Dentist was a quick in/out thankfully although I did have a nice ogle which was almost worth the cost.

Sounds like you had a bit of a “ding-dong” with your dentist too 👩🏼‍🔬

Been blawing a gale all night, hope there's not any damage to my fence, only painted it last summer.

Trees and sign-posts down in Inverkip and my Buddy on Tiree had a caravan (not his) blown into his garden.

Motorhome successfully driven home, only hit 2 or 3 cars, not bad for my first drive.

Mrs Faraway already been out measuring, I fear this'll cost me more and more.

Not had the dogs in it yet, grounds all wet and slushy with the wee upturn in temperature.

Enjoy the freedoms of the open road FS

Do you have a backup power supply in the event of loss of mains electricity?

There is an auxiliary powers supply (generator) on the island for when the electricity goes down, which happens from time to time, but I also have a home battery back up supply system as well......it'd be difficult for any "time-critical" admin or online business to survive without it out here, it's a much hardier way of life but all the better for it.

@WeeBud do you have to clear the snow off the Starlink device? What sort of maintenance do you have to do with the device? Very interested.

It’s currently 25C in the shade where I am right now. Gotta love the winter sunshine in the Canary Islands.

    Another 8 days to go……

I haven't cleared the snow off the Starlink so far @Albanian Buddy although the sun and salt air take care of it fairly quickly and there's been no drop off in speed/performance etc......the installer put in extra insulation tubing around the cables and he has boxed in the external connections. The installer is contracted to do a system check (including cables/connections) annually but as it's Tiree (and he's a pal) it's every six months......this'll be our first full winter with the system but all good so far👍

Sounded a bit windy when I let the dog out a wee while ago but dry.

    Monday's are shit.

Murrray on the TV, I'd prefer to snuggle up and watch it but that's no happening.

Snowy here on Tiree just now but don't expect it'll lie for too long, strong and bitterly cold winds from the North but sun starting to break through......hopefully that'll get the "feels like" temperature somewhere above -10 !!!!!

Unless you can back up some "story" I'd suggest that you don't know and I would also suggest it's unlikely.

Let's not beat about the bush here, that type of shite has become normal but if it keeps you happy, fire in mate.

In fairness I think it’s fairly well documented that this was part of Cameron’s initiation process into the Bullingdon Club, an absolutely abhorrent collection of entitled, rich kids that believe their role is to shite all over the “lesser” classes as some sort of right of passage.

  14. That’s not what I use it for though…..I need to go through a VPN link to my office, connect to the server and then run various programmes and processes simultaneously. As I said to FS, not everyone needs the download speed that I do but for a system (package) that I can switch on and off ( don’t pay for off) and charge to my business it is very decent value for money.

As a disruptor to the market they certainly are highly expensive. I can understand why you might need this in remote locations but if I understand the price plans it’s not cheap!

Most places I go to in Europe allow me to get sufficient data throughput via traditional mobile to stream most content I need or I download tv/films in advance.

Got a phone call yesterday from their tech guy who explained that as we wanted the TV to work "off grid" as well as when we were "hooked up" at an official camp he'd install a certain type of TV that can work off the leisure battery in the motorhome.

I'm sure this will be one of many things that I wasn't aware of.

He also mentioned I can run my Firestick, including IPTV, depending on the strength of the WIFI signal. :thumbs2

We’ve taken up Starlink” for Wi-Fi at the cottage and getting 270 Mb of download (which is mental). They do a package for motorhomes, boats etc….£75.00 per month but you’re not in contract and can switch package on and off when your not using it

    Still on Tiree?

    Beautiful morning here, although frosty.

One of my workmates has had the flu this week and it hit me yesterday afternoon, shivering, aching joints and a honking bad headache.

As we've got people coming over tonight I hammered the flu capsules, went to bed with the electric blanket full on and slept it off.

Still got a cough but, hopefully, passed the worst.

Aye, still here FS and staying on until Thursday…..weather taken a wee turn from the dry, bright and sunny last 7 days to a wee bit overcast with a wind running in from the North 💨 🥶.

Plenty of Flu and Colds about but managed to evade them so far, seems to be lingering with people longer than normal. Hope you’re back to feeling better soon.

Just looked out and I'm pleasantly surprised no signs of frost/ice on the cars.

    Also dry.

Not sure how cold it is but it'll not be warm.

Noticed yesterday Ant & Dec are staying at the hotel I was at just 3 weeks ago.

Bet they're disappointed they missed me.

Currently on Tiree and for the first time in my memory(over 50 years) having to scrape ice off the car windows, our cottage is right by the shore so the salt air usually takes care of it.
