Would just like to add something not about Sammy. The abuse Paul McGowan got on Saturday when he came on as a sub for Dundee from a former Saints employee for one was disgusting.. Guys is a Saints LEGEND. Man of the match in the 2013 final. I ashamed to hear what was being shouted. It was so bad I wouldn't even repeat it on here.

Paul McGowan a Saints LEGEND!!! :lol:lol:lol

I really don't get why we have reached 8 pages on this - oh sh*t I'm just adding fuel to the fire................... -_-

Let's put aside this argument about it being in the middle of the season for just a minute - let's just imagine that in his next game he made a fantastic save but in making that save he incurred a multiple fracture of both collar bone and upper arm, probably not just end of season, but end of career.

Do you think if that had occurred he would get offered a coaching position with an English league 1 side currently 2nd in the league, three points behind, with a game in hand and a better goal difference than the leaders  - NO, is the quick and easy answer to that scenario.

Fine, that's not what has happened, he has been offered a coaching position with people he knows and respects, the opportunity exists now, not next month, not next year. So he goes to the  Saint's Manager and discussed with him his predicament and asks what, if any are my long term prospects here?

"Well" answers the Manager, " we already have a goal-keeping coach and given your age and our financial predicament it will be difficult for us to extend your contract right now". "OK" says Sammy, "what in your opinion should I do Boss?" - "if I was in your shoes, I'd probably take it Sammy as these opportunities don't come along too often. Yes you have a contract here, but football is a fickle game and your next game could be your last, so on balance, go for it and you have my support in that respect."

Discussion between OK and Directors - "It's a bit of a bu**ers muddle but I think we have cover until the mid-season window and we can probably extract some compensation and maybe a guaranteed figure plus perhaps a 'friendly'?"

Let's move on and support whoever next is between the sticks. I remember the fiasco when Dick Beattie was exposed for allegedly throwing some matches when playing down south. I thought at the time he was a great goalie and that we were thrown in the mire by that revelation in the middle of a season - but surprise, surprise, there are good goalies just waiting for their chance.........................

You just made that whole conversation thing up didn't you? :lol

For the record people from w7 have repeatedly argued that free speech was suffienct to make a case for Morton, Ibrox and Simple Digital Banners.

On repetition in my post on this topic and police presence I have no intention of stopping until the culprit is dealt with.

So.. If you want this dealt with quickly then contact Tony and help him review the CCTV images together with others from W7.

Your young sharp eyes might manage to identify the culprit and remove suspicions on the usual W7 supporters.

Nothing worrying or difficult there.  A chance to show how public minded you and your group are.

Will save the need for police to corral up to 200fans have have them put through body searches.

Flares were let off in neighbouring streets.

For the record I have NEVER said I sit in W7 and do not.

If W7 annoy you so much and you think they are damaging the club why do you not sit there a week on Saturday and alert stewards and police when you see behaviour you think bring the club into disrepute?

Tedious is beginning  to apply to you.  If anyone remotely rattles your cage then you let fly.  This is not how a leader of men  behaves.

Where is the willingness to take other views into account or recognize the genuine concerns of many fans?

And please.... No lectures to me or any other  posters on what they should or shouldn't post.

Perhaps I got this wrong but it seems to me that you made a big thing out of freedom of speech and banner slogans.

However much you would like to.. You can't ask for it and criticise others for using it,  Just because you don't like what's posted in a members forum.

It's not I don't like your post I just do not see the need to repeat yourself over and over and over and over and over and over  and over and over again and again and again!!!!

Oh and for the record I've never posted about freedom of speech or banner slogans

I have lost track of how many times I have praised the noise and colour that the folks in and around W7 bring to the ground.  This recognition brings with it responsibilities that the people who gather there need to face up to.  I agree with Oaksoft that it is sensible to be aware of the increased attention of the police and club officials here and elsewhere following recent events.  For the sake of the reputation of all St Mirren fans we need the Phantom Coin Thrower to be identified and dealt with. Until that happens, rightly or wrongly, there will be increased suspicion surrounding our fans. It was alarming to see the numbers and disposition of the Police in Dundee,  including a number of Police from Paisley.  Before anyone suggests that I am pointing an accusing finger.. I am not.  I'm just stating the obvious and hope it's the last time I do.. Sure others feel the same.

FFS!!!.....I REALLY hope it's the last time you do! PLease no one bite!!! Tedious doesn't even start to describe him!

Really? So where was Hodson/ P McGinn playing? Several people couldnt make out where Erahahon was actually playing.

Just when I didn't think you could look anymore stupid you post this. :lol Several people eh? I'm guessing you are the only one and now you don't know where Hodson and McGinn were playing either! :lol Comedy Gold!

For your information Craig Samson is  our goalkeeper. Hes the one with the big gloves on and a different coloured top, usually standing between the two sticks at one end of the pitch. The pitch is the big green thing in the middle with the lines and flags at each corner. :lol

Hope this all helps. By the way you're not Alan Stubbs are you????

Yep, he has that completely wrong. And Magennis had a great game, we would have lost without him.

Otherwise though, the point is correct. Kearney chops and changes every week even when we have played well and it results in players not knowing what they are supposed to be doing (or knowing and not being able to do it!)

I'm pretty sure he is not chopping and changing every week for the sake of it! Injuries and finding out many are nowhere near the quality required to play at this level has forced his hand. I'd rather go with Oran who is seeing them in training every day of the week and knows the extent of their injuries than listen to someone who thinks Ethan was playing in Midfield! :hammer

  8. 4 minutes ago, Lord Pityme said:

Genuinely worried about Oran's misguided tactics of continually replacing players, by putting the replacement out of their proper position. And starting today with a midfield of Mcshane, Magennis, and Erhahon sitting way too deep and wide.

McShane was posted AWOL again for most of the game, the guy just isnt a midfielder. To play Magennis from the off after so long out, which only served to unbalance the side that performed well for 80 mins last week was wrong, Oran should have gone with Erhahon and Willock in midfield, and if you must one of either Magennis or McGinn, and Hodson back. Does he intend to continue changing every game all the way up to the January break, only to continue chopping and changing after that if he brings in any new faces?

how does a side build confidence, belief and understanding if its never anything like the same team for two games in a row?

Erhahon played fullback.(the same position as he played last week) If you can't even get that right the rest of your post really is irrelevant as you clearly haven't a clue what you are taking about.

Agree with this. Also thought that Jones had a good game (and I am a fan of Jack Baird).. Lots of effort from both sides.

Thought Kallman gave him a torrid time and completely bullied him. Was never so glad to see a player go off. His substitution and the introduction of McGinn swung the game in our favour, The only St Mirren player capable of getting the ball down, making a yard for himself and make a pass that finds a fellow St Mirren player. Also for Kyle Magennis to come back and play 90 minutes like that was a great plus.

No contradictions. Simple. Coin was thrown from the W7 area. I suggested they protect their position by handing in the culprit if they could identify them since they were in that section. I at no time suggested that the individual was one of the normal bunch that congregate there or not. I reaffirmed my past and present support for the folks in that area and the noise and colour they bring. For some reason this seemed to alarm the guys. They were no longer a group just a bunch of guys who happen to sit together. How would I know. More than myself suggested that they were acting like victims but victims of what? Praise?

Another poster made mention of a named individual who was said to have made their way to the other end of the ground to hurl abuse at the away fans. I cautioned restraint as nothing was proved and that should it be correct then the club would no doubt deal with it.

Now I do find it strange that these simple messages have been capable of creating so much misunderstanding and angst.  I also find it strange that several people decide to wade in with abuse when none is merited despite ample evidence that I am and have been a fan of what the young guys are bringing to the ground on Match days.

These are difficult times for the folks in W7. Firstly the Ibrox Banner. Then the reaction to police visits. Then the fans not criminal banner steamship and now an incident Emin aging from the area they occupy and are therefore in the best position, if anyone is, to be able to identify the culprit to the club. These are difficult dilemmas for what I believe are a decent bunch of young guys to handle. Give them space and give the club and authorities time and space to handle it and move on to the game against Dundee.

FFS!!! This is excruciating!!!! Stupid? Troll? Or someone who needs help?

Good to see you being positive and that the big man has his head screwed on.  The bottom 4 are covered by 5 or 6 points.  Stay in this range and most things are possible.

No better place to start than Dundee on Saturday.  I'll be there. Tough,  tough game expected.

The bottom four are covered by 8 points but you rarely let the facts get in the way of your posts. :whistle

    The culprit is an individual.

Nothing to do with the Singing Group.

Nothing to do with the St Mirren support as a whole.

One person male or female is  responsible for the coin throwing yesterday.

So Rick, leave Doakes and the Singing Group alone and the rest of us also.

    Not our fault.

WE DON'T KNOW WHO IS FECKING GUILTY .

FFS.. agree with you and faraway on the same night!!!

  13. 2 minutes ago, Doakes said:

As I said in my private message to you Ricky, I have no desire to fall out with you.

I’m not sure where you’re getting this victim idea from, the entire debate has been around one individual who threw a coin. To which I answered that I don’t know who threw it. I can’t be much clearer than that.

There is no playbook - I just don’t like when someone treats a donation as a way to boast. Maybe that’s just me

You're wasting your time. The man is an idiot. If you met him in the pub you'd tell him to get to feck and walk away. I suggest you do the same here. All your doing is increasing his ever increasing rambling post count.

  14. 7 minutes ago, St.Ricky said:

Read it again.  Take a deep breath. Take a moment and see that I am a wholehearted supporter of the group with their best interests at heart.  If you can't see that then I can't explain it further. I have made NO accusations.

I thought you were not a troll and just a bit stupid. But I'm beginning to wonder! That's my point, you don't accuse but infer when you know us much as anyone. Your treatment of o fellow St Mirren fan on this and another thread is outrageous.

You claim to support them ( turns out it's to the tune of £25!!!) but ask the forum if it's time to withdraw support! Sadly  I'm not going to convince you that you are making a fool of yourself.

  15. 1 minute ago, St.Ricky said:

You really do miss the point.

Let me tell you again-I love what the guys bring in noise and colour.

Best they stop acting like victims - even Faraway recognises that.

I am ençouragibg them to be proactive in supporting the investigation and Should one of them know or have suspicions then report them to the club and police.

If they don't,  they don't.  If they did and it turned out that the person is known to them then that might signal the beginning of the end for the group.

This,  in my opinion,  would be a great pity.

    I hope that's now clear.

No you don't get it. you infer things, you infer people know and you act like a complete arsehole. Simple question. Do you know one of the W7 team are involved? Yes? Or No?

The last thing I am in need of is money.  I have enough thanks.  Not too much and not too little either.

You seem to find it difficult if not impossible to read between the lines.

Let's see what comes out in the wash.

Listen if you know it was one of the W7 team then tell us. If not shut the feck up and lets see where the actual evidence if there is any takes us!

  17. 3 hours ago, Doakes said:

As much as I admire this one man crusade to aprehend the culprit, there’s still been no evidence of where the coin came from. Whoever launched it isn’t owning up. Short of grabbing people by the scruff of the neck at Dundee until we get a confession, I’m not sure what Ricky expects us to do about it.

If whoever threw it is reading this, feel free to DM me on twitter.

I suggest we move on and concentrate on our huge match with Dundee. Going to be a loud one, plenty of buses making the trip

ps, please stop mentioning your money. If you would like it back I’ll happily give you it

If you tell me how much this clown has donated I will gladly  pay it back to him if it stops his inane ramblings on the subject. What an absolute fanny he has made himself look on this subject!!!!

  18. Morelos, probably quite rightly, took dogs abuse from the St Mirren Fans ( I was one of them) When he scores and gives me some back then I deserve it. He certainly does not deserve to have objects thrown at him.

Chris Boyds celebration when he scored the penalty today was hilarious  having obviously taken dogs abuse from the Aberdeen fans, Unfortunately some fans can dish it out ( thinking having paid their £20 odd quid they can do what they want) but can not take it!!!

Paying to get into a football match does not make you above the law nor does it make you being a complete arsehole acceptable. Unfortunately thousands of football fans don't accept that.

  19. 1 minute ago, St.Ricky said:

Exactly... I posed the question. I didn't propose it.

:lol:lol:lol So why ask the ridiculous over the top question then? You really come across as a drama Queen! Even if it does turn out to be one of the group who sit in W7 (and there is no evidence at the moment that it was) they all can't be held responsible for one moron.

  20. 39 minutes ago, St.Ricky said:

I said nothing of the sort.  What I did say was that This Action Called into Question whether it was time to pull the plug,  not something I would advocate.  I also said that the best outcome would be for the guys in W7 , one or some of which must know the guy or where they were sitting,  was for that person or persons to advise the police and club to get the matter dealt with quickly. I have put my money where my mouths in supporting W7. Maybe you have too... I don't know.  Again .. Doesn't mean that I have to agree with all that happens there. I do love the noise and colour they bring.  They can't however abrogate their responsibilities.

I think you did. You post so much drivel I appreciate It'll be difficult to remember it all.

I was standing to the back right of W7, seen the coin hit his leg and bounce away. Immediately thought “aw naw”. Had a look around but no idea where it came from, hopefully whoever threw it doesnae come back to our stadium. Or has a very good look at their self in the mirror.

I can understand giving Morelos pelters, he is a bit of a numpty, but throwing stuff onto the park is just stupid.

    Someone knows!

    No hiding place Doakes.

Time for the W7 Group to show their true colours.

Get the person found and reported and restore our reputation as fans.

If this doesn't happen then the future for W7 looks bleak. IMO

I have personally contributed funds and regularly praised the noise and colour the folks bring but have also objected to two banners this season.  This makes three incidents we could have done without.  Is it time to call a halt to support for W7? Let's see whether the guys have the guts to do the right thing here.
