  1. Thanks for the response. Thats fair enough - but I suspect someone in a full-time position would struggle to make available the necessary time to be chairman of a SPL club - I am not saying this is wrong or unfair - just that it is something to be considered. Are you able to answer the other point regarding the "safety net" group?
  2. 2 questions: Q: At the recent SMISA meeting RA stated if the CIC elected a bunch of Muppets he would run them out of town, this suggests to me a group have some control over the board of the CIC? I have no doubt an organisation such as this needs a safety net - it needs to ensure the people on the CIC board, and more importantly, the St Mirren Board, are competent, my question is who would make up this safety net/veto body and what would be the scope for the CIC at large to remove them and replace with someone else if they were not happy with their MO? Q: The current SMFC BoD do not take a salary from the club, as they are in a fortunate position as relatively wealthy individuals, this is not a concern for them. Whoever the CIC elects to the SMFC BoD will also have to work full time for the club - assuming they would not be offered a salary is there a danger this may preclude a large section of the support from standing for election, or would a modest salary be offered to ‘full time’ board members?
  3. I read about the asset lock and understand that - the concern is more, if the CiC defaults - where do the bank (or whoever has loaned the £2m) come to get their money, would it be possible (if the CiC is in a position of default) that the bank could seize its only asset - 52% stake in St Mirren, in the same way a bailiff takes your TV if you cant pay your credit card bill - you didnt secure the loan on the telly - equally these loans wouldn't be secured against the club but whats to stop a similar scenario? This, for me is the only stumbling block - there needs to be absolute assurance that if the CiC fails and cannot repay its debts - the club is not impacted in any way.
  4. Surely grants by their nature do not need repaid? Where are the loans going to come from - and what happens if the CiC defaults?
  5. Poz - I would expect (I have no reason to believe this other than it's the only way I can see it working) that the CiC would elect members to act on their behalf - ie this would not be the same as MYFC where members could (supposedly) vote on every decision - it's my feeling Tony Fitzpatrick is there for the very reason he will probably be elected as 'president' of the CiC and become the CiCs representative on the board (perhaps with others from the CiC).
  6. SG on sportsound now. Some key quotes: 'funding package now in place' 'Completed by end of the season' 'Club in limbo for last 6 months - we now know where we are going' 'The right way forward' Chick Young - 'News on Thursday night.'
  7. That and where does the money for the initial £2m investment come from? how will it be paid back (if at all)? How many local businesses are expected to join the CiC and what would their investment level be?
  8. I guess the next question is where does the initial investment come from. If £2m is required to buy the 52% of the club for the CiC where does this money come from - if the answer to this involves some sort of loan (soft or otherwise) I wouldnt be too comfortable.
  9. I openly admit to not really understanding how this CIC will work - my understanding is it will need fans and businesses to buy a share in the CIC the CIC will then buy the club. The club would then operate on a not for profit basis - with any profits being reinvested. 2 questions i have - as the CIC will own 52% of the club - what happens to the other 48%, how many fans would need to buy into this in order to make it work?
  10. Ah i remember it now - that was a beezer.
