  1. We need cover for goody in midfield as well as a centre half we r 2 players short
  2. Looks like TC has it wrong. its brown in midfield for goodwin
  3. oh dear me thinks someone doth protest too much
  4. if its not the same link then he obviously didn't falsify it thendid u intend to prove that cockles was wrong?
  5. he didn't falsify anything! he used the functionality that the forum offers to give your own name to a link that you r posting the actual link and story is unaltered
  6. er, well obviously!that's what the functionality is there for... it allows folk to put their own spin on a link that they r posting in order to suit their own agenda! doh!
  7. You posted the same link Cockles. What are you on about?
  8. I used to go to every away game but stopped a couple of years ago. In the past I would already have booked up the hotel before the cancellation of the game so I too would have been absolutely raging. As others have pointed out, Aberdeen put the boot into us last summer so there is no way we should be doing them any favours. In addition, Aberdeen were main players in stopping the removal of the 2 club league veto which will ensure a sectarian based carve up returns when the new The Rangers club gets back to the top flight. Stewart Milne is a disgrace to Scottish football and St. Mirren should be doing everything in their power to make things as difficult as possible for Aberdeen. In saying that, as others have also said, we would be missing Thompson & McAusland so maybe the club did it for own interests. Just a pity they didn't consider their loyal travelling support.
  9. I'd like to take the opportunity to criticise you on this public forum for criticising the people on this public discussion forum who are critical of the people on this public discussion forum who are critical.
  10. It worked well with Yardley & Lavety because we were in the First Division and camped in the opposition box a lot of the time. Not so sure if it would work as well in the top flight. Where it might well happen is in the latter stages of games where we are chasing a goal.
  11. We have an out and out winger with real speed this season however in Wylde. This is the best line up of attacking players we've had in many a year.
  12. That midfield and forward line excites me. Its not quite Stark, Richardson, Bone / McDougall, Somner & Weir... But its one of the best on paper that we've had in a long while. I have a feeling though that Callum Ball is going to make a big name for himself this season!
  13. It'll be interesting to see what TC does. I would have thought that Marwood & Caldwell would be better suited through the middle with Ball or Thompson. I also wouldn't discount Thompson & Ball up front together. The midfield is then interesting as you would assume that either McGinn or McLean would operate in the centre with a defensive midfielder. That may mean McGinn wide left with Wylde on the right or it could be McGinn in the centre with McLean wide right. McLean wide right would an interesting option for me, sort of in the Andy Dorman role. He likes to get forward and playing wide would make it difficult for the opposition to put a marker on him. It would also allow him to come inside and also allow him the freedom to shoot as he's got a fantastic strike.
  14. Agreed, we need not fear them. However, Motherwell are a good side, are a step ahead in fitness and are playing at home. St. Mirren also traditionally don't do well on opening day (unless the game is at Ibrox!) Our season goes way beyond one game. I believe we are in for a very good season regardless of the result at Motherwell!
  15. I'm pretty sure that players from lower leagues in Scotland would jump at the chance of a move to England if the offer came up! In these days of Bosman, you will never be able to hang on to any player who is successful. The fact that he's from England doesn't really make any difference. Michael Higdon is an example of a big English striker who was released by a then Championship side, Crewe, who came up to Scotland and ended up playing with 3 Scottish sides, scoring a load of goals and even winning Player of the Year. He eventually ended up in Holland!
  16. This a cracking signing. We've signed 3 young strikers with loads of potential this summer. Ball could well top the lot. He may well turn out to be the new Michael Higdon! Tommy Craig has played a blinder so far this summer. I have a feeling this this is going to be a fantastic season.
