thewhiteman
the st mirren supporters trust in conjunction with st mirren in the community and the club have rebranded the panda club to allow fees to be reduced from £5 per match to £2 per match to maintain and hopefully increase attendance of both the panda club and parents at saints matches and encourage the current and future fan base of our club a high percentage of the cost to SMiSA is expected to be reclaimed through grants as the supporters trust is a registered IPS ( industrial provident society) making an all round win win situation this type of venture has only been made possible due to the continued contribution of the trusts long established membership and to those new members that have taken the time and effort to join the trust in 2014 Thanks to all members and everyone who has contributed and supported trust events throughout the years and long may it continue that at least the clubs fan base is willing to invest in our club ! just think how much more all of us through the trust could do for the future of our club if everyone reading this signed up to SMiSA for £2 a month ! thewhiteman
unlike some lower league outfits the brand name of the panda club cost a bit more than £

thewhiteman
Advertise it in the Renfrewshire area Only the regular St Mirren fans know this exists yes, agree Football clubs generally and our own specifically tend to continually go to the same people to promote attendance, retail, raffles, sponsorship, etc etc basically preaching to the converted, but in my opinion you can't just keep going to the same captive audience all the time as they are probably already giving and doing all they can or as much as they want to give whether it's going to games or other means of support. While I agree that clubs should try and consolidate their current support and ensure anyone attending a match for example continues to do so the real challenge is to get people involved who otherwise wouldn't be. we intend to up our game in trying to attract 'lapsed supporters' or 'new supporters' to the club by ventures such as this one or promoting in local pubs and schools in the future, in a way st.mirren in the community are very involved in this by reaching out to others, but we all need to work at increasing our support base for the future easier said than done, but other than local press ( not the back pages) articles and various events, if anyone has any ideas or even better any contacts that might help this principle please post them
thewhiteman
and, the more people joining the supporters trust and taking an active involvement, the more initiatives like this one we will be able to undertake

thewhiteman
the SMiSA Panda Club to date has been averaging an attendance of 50 kids at every home match On Saturday, the first day of the reduced fees due to the rebranding, had an attendance of 92 ! a massive thanks to those involved in making this happen, you know who you are ! and continued thanks to all SMiSA members. maybe one day every supporter will realise just how much difference £2 a month can make to the future of our club Edited November 11, 2014 by thewhiteman
