I noticed something was up when Tubize were still in the Proximus League (second tier) even though they had finished bottom. Lommel SK had been promoted to the Proximus, Mechelen relegated to the Proximus so I checked up who wasn't there. Once I realised it was Lierse I found this article from a few days ago. Very sad to see this happen to a club with their history and 112 years of existence, and it explains why we always have to be wary of takeovers. Whatever praises and non-praises we may say about our current owners or Mr Gilmour, we can always be thankful GS/SG had our club in their heart. This unfortunately could happen to any club.
