Bud the Baker
Hi Guys, A comrade at work appears to have uploaded a virus called "Trojan Horse" which announced it's presence and froze his computer. When he attempts to reboot he gets to so far and then the same thing happens. Firewalls and Anti-Virus software are novel concepts to him so I presume there is nothing of this nature on his machine (he can't get to them anyway). Do any of you have any suggestions? PS. He is unsure of what version of Windows he is running. Nice Guy but a bit naïve about computers. Any help would be more than we’ve got at the moment. Thanx

codfish
Bud the Baker, that sounds like the problem I had a couple of months ago. I ended up doing a partial recovery, which wiped the hard disk and re-installed the operating system. PC runs great now (complete with firewall!)
