We may have had the bulk of chances & pressure, we still did not display even a low level of finesse in front of goal. Every chance seemed to be hit with the intention of taking the net off the posts and landing it 2 streets away.
I was sitting right in line with George and felt that the last thing he should have done was pick that ball up as it trundled towards him, i actually shouted out when he lifted it as it was clearly in the debatable category in terms of proximity to the line. Shamal had every chance just to punt it to safety but instead chose to give an inept official a chance to make a decision. let's face it, everyone knows the officials are shite in every game, so why not be canny and just not give the feckers the excuse to use their underdeveloped gray matter?
Looking at the TV coverage, Gogic had seen off the danger and still left a foot in, even a half-hearted effort to at least appear to pull out would have prevented that decision. Again, we can blame the officials for being shite, we know that already before a ball is kicked. Why the naivety?
Overall, loads of pressure, huff & puff without hardly a well placed pass and a shitload of poorly made ones. I was really disappointed with McMenamin's second half. Sure, several passes to him fell short, he just seemed to not be interested in coming in a yard or so to guarantee getting on the end of one or two.
Fraser Taylor seems the only midfielder who has the vision to find a position and make a pass. His introduction to he game was about 20 minutes too late.
I thought Declan and Miguel looked good, Phillips is committed to everything and big Dan certainly knows how to use his physique
