  2. Bus for St.Johnstone Sat 27th October leaves the Sneddon at 1pm. Tickets behind bar at Brewer's Tap £7
  3. A fellow member asked for a members meeting to discuss things, there are no meetings to be planned but members are welcome to email ideas/thoughts (good luck). I've bowed out the whole thing for now due to a family bereavement but just thought I'd pop in to pass this on. In the meantime COYS OKBAWA.............. see ya's
  4. Bus for Aberdeen Sat 6th October leaves the Sneddon at 9.30am Tickets behind bar at Brewer's Tap £12.
  5. I get where you are coming from but I think looking for specific seating isn't just a totally different kind of thing - tbh It sounds more like that executive club thing they have. It's a BAR a PUB, it's nothing to do with where you sit and you ain't going to get a certain seating area for a tenner a month. And the fact it's a pub is kinda the reason some folks talk about the bar prices. If only we were all given a chance as members to discuss all this, as a founding member did you think there would be member Input/meetings or was it clear from the start being a member just meant paying?
  6. Sorry but ye are going too far. Having a certain setting area and half time tea and pie? That's hospitality and you aren't going to get that for a tenner a month. You've said you sit in West Stand but would move to Main. I'll never move from west - so how would that work then? Does it become just a club for Main stand punters? Nah. It's a pub, pub snacks, half time sorry would never expect something at half time. The way you describe what you are looking for and that you think the bar prices are fine it seem a you are looking for something far different from what it will ever be. I'm just looking for it to be a pre and post game pub but I pay a membership so that allows me to sign in a cpl of pals a team NO cost and the bar to be a wee bit cheaper (as bowling clubs and social clubs are). For me it's not about special stuff seating etc I just want value for money and a decent feckin pint would be guid cos fosters is pants
  7. Good post. Aye ye joined to help to get it up and running thinking things will get better etc. Totally agree with free guest or two - that should be a given with your membership. Apparent ly some members don't want free guests cos then that's folk getting in for nothing while they are paying - that one kills me! The big chairs and tables were gotten free at start of last season - there is a reason - the seats are guff, tables fine. As for those other fold up ones...aye they shite too. Bar prices for me should be more in line with other members clubs. Buddievison - don't even start me on that. Parking permit - don't drive no idea what costs are but I had kinda assumed there was an area for parking with the bar. Food - doesn't bother me too much only had a Panini a Cpl of times, wee nephew likes the pakora but there isn't much choice wise. Another member mentioned after the game on Saturday that she would like food after as an option. Main Stand thing - come on noo if ye sit in main stand you are already at the stand....doon stairs, turnstyle and in. Plus not all members are from Main Stand - if you get direct access to your stand I want a shuttle bus roon to the West :-)
  8. I just thought you were meaning the club shouldn't be looking at us to spend at it and make money with away supporters. That's clearly never going to happen if some members don't even want their own supporters in. We will see what happens but looking like its making money and no interest in anything else. Someone on the waiting list can get me and the wee man's places then and it be a wee burger and keg for us noo and then. Nah nae Stubbs bashing, had my moan on that. Hoping for miracles this week and a surprise on Saturday. Just hope nane of those toffs up the stairs in the dear seats through their prawn sandwiches doon to us cheap seaters hehe
  9. I aye Div fair enough if it's a health and safety thing but let's be honest here Alan had stated firstly it's because some members moaned. That's my gripe - some members moan then at 10pm the night before the game an unofficial tweet Is put out, that's nonsense. If it's a health and safety thing then restrict numbers after don't just make it a blanket no and leave the club half empty. I've said to other founding members that I prob would have been flung oot long before it was built if i was a founding member cos I'd be asking lots of questions etc . It's becoming more obvious tho that there are obv members that are just happy to pay the monthly fee, pay full bar prices and have no say in anything. And aye prob think the same as your last sentence there and therefore adopting the what's the point in moaning it won't change anything attitude . Which clearly isn't my attitude. Aye the club is a business and I'm happy to put money in but this is area of spend where I think quite frankly ye can get treated poorly.
  10. In a nutshell it got switched off before the end, folks weren't happy obv, we had already been told bar would close at normal time but we could watch end of game and leave. Then someone decided it would be a good idea to switch it off anyway. Poor barmaid that was told to switch it off got the initial crap. There then was several arguments going on and I chose to get my nephew the hell out of there. On the way out a member of st.mirren staff raised their hands to a customer who returned them the compliment - customer barred. All washed over by saying violence or abuse to staff won't be tolerated. Did ask if the member of staff got punished.... never got a reply strangely. Absolute nonsense. Best atmosphere the club had had since I joined it that day, few English folk in so some banter being flung aboot. Well it seems to be 2 this season but it certainly wasn't last season. This is where it needs a better system. Cos Saturday there neither me or my nephew used our guests - so you could have got 4 from us. Also that's the thing - you or paying for it but not using it - club don't care they getting your money. There are also a lot of members who use it before but not after, ok might be getting their tenner but they aren't spending after - someone else could be. I'm not claiming to know how to run it but seems to me there is a case for a relook at things and maybe asking members for thoughts/ideas. As I said before, If I get to the stage of not using it I certainly won't be paying for it.
  11. Yip, I joined cos my nephew now comes with me to the games - which I love, but can't get him in our bus's pub as they don't serve food. I had stupidly assumed it would be members club type bar pricing which it isn't. So all it is expensive, and the way certain things have been dealt with it's making me strongly rethink being a member. It was also advertised/sold as having players in, guests etc - hardly ever happens. Gies yer tenner, pay full bar prices and weesht
  12. No one is forcing us to be members tho, and some folk a tenner a month is nothing, also some folk have the attitude the money is going to the club so it's all good. I'm not in that group I want value for money and would be kinda nice to have a say in stuff/ be involved in decisions etc. Without members there wouldn't be a club then they would have to just have it a free for all so imo members should have a say in stuff. It's a great facility but I'm paying for it so if I'm not happy with stuff I'll tell them. It's a wee change from reading about Stubbs!
  13. See tbh I'm not overly sure, I wasn't a founder member but I think the initial loan may no be repaid. I hadn't to pay a joining fee of £50 for me and £25 for my nephew. Since joining I've become more aware that you don't get a say in hee haw and when I have asked or put forward thoughts I've just been given figures to show how well it's doing. Aye he mentioned that on twitter after saying it wasn't cos some members had complained - so what one is it or is it both? Sorry Div but I think the way it was done was done was wrong. The calcutta cup day incident and the crap at the end of the season when some members couldn't even get one guest signed in cos an email was sent out one day basically as a first come first served, really really annoyed. I expressed this to Alan. Especially the rugby thing, that really pissed me off. I'll wait and see if he replies to the member who has requested a members meeting but I'm not convinced I'll be staying a member. You just pay a tenner a month, pay normal bar prices and have no say in anything. There's a waiting list apparently to join so the club won't go short *rolls eyes*.
  14. No bother just wondered why you didn't use it often as there seem so to be fair fee members that don't just good to get s picture why
  15. So at 10pm Friday night Colin (who I now know now is Colin that does the door at the club) put out a tweet to say that the club wouldn't be open afterwards to non members, unless paying guest previous to game. So many things wrong with this - short notice, tweet from someone's personal twitter, nothing official, nothing on FB page for the bar, no email to memebers. Alan Wardrop did come on to twitter on Saturday morning to reply - so apparently some members have complained about those getting in for nothing. Ok - why were all members not asked about their views on this? What about us members who don't want guests charged and therefore have no problem with non members being in after? I went in after and it was nowhere near full yet folk turned away at door because of this decision. I've said this repeatedly - its NOT a members club from what I can see from my first year in it. ( I have already told Alan that I don't think mine and my nephew's membership will continue much longer). A members club - meetings, agms, votes - surely.. not to mention members bar prices. You basically pay a tenner a month to get you in. Alan did say back in March when he gave my nephew a tour for his birthday that he had taken my comments on board about the fact that players are hardly ever in and that this would change (too early in season to judge that). A fellow member has requested a meeting, as yet no reply. Not everyone is going to agree with the same things but I also think a meeting is needed to air our views, its meant to be our club but it appears we have no say in anything. I shall wait and see what happened over next few weeks then decide whether to keep our memberships. Any other members on here got any thoughts on it?
  16. It is great you had a great day that day and Alan did the same for my nephew on his birthday which was fabulous. Interesting though that you have only used it twice since it opened, you are of course entitled to pay and never use it if you so choose. It was trophy day it was always going to be a good day would be interesting to see what you would have thought if it had just been a normal matchday without any of the extras. It is a great facility but its no secret I feel it could be improved...which will lead me on to my next post!

  19. Aye well we defo got the day for it weather wise.
  20. I would have preferred the open top on the Sunday, get another day oot it and another day of folk going into Paisley to spend. The players have 3 POTY nights after Falkirk, all buses except oors (stopped our do's years ago due to being let down time after time) so they will need to spread themselves oot a bit. I always gave out the trophies and the last one we had it was JACK ROSS that got POTY - well ye can imagine what I was like- never happened. After that we scrapped them, shame., bus that's just celebrated 60th anniversary. Still we aw manage to have a good time in Langs ourselves - its got beer, we can sing oor wee hearts oot - what more do you need. Tho I shall be joining the McGarry and Broon clan at Banky for a bit .......only one Tam McGarry
  21. us W4 folk do sing..well some of us and I think it was my pal Darn that was doing Opera - it sounds like him tbh even tho I cannae rememeber. we here W7 but not always loud and sometimes w4 and w7 are singing different songs. Away games - defo more drunkness which can make folk sing or sing more. ABSOLUTELY AGREE - with no feckin music at end of game. As soon as it came on Saturday I thought oh f**k off and let the singing take over. Kills it! nae need! get it aff!!!
  22. Open top bus-AYE! Would prefer a Sunday(2 day party) but I think it be next Saturday. Pre game - breakfast club at mine, Club1877 after the game with the nephew, Ramsays and Morgans then bus thing then Langs as it is reopening tomoro thank feck! That's an awfy busy day... I may need a wee nap at some point... Tomoro I shall practice :-) ...drinking and celebrating not the napping
