  1. On the few occaions I have been drunk enough to perform I've gone for rockers like My Generation and Born To Be Wild where the lyrics are almost spoken and my inability to hold a tune isn't too exposed. I also kinda know the words to these songs and even if my lyrics aren't 100% accurate it's more important to keep up with the flow of the song rather than be singing two bars behind (sic). I have a confession tho' - I'd love to have the balls to go up and belt out - I Will Survive - altho' perhaps those items preclude me from singing that song!
  2. Pink Floyd - Meddle Only another half hour or so & the family arrive!
  3. Would agree with you The Sound of Music is a big No. 2. *************************************** But Grease! - Grease is the word! Great songs, not really fit for the under 10's it was pitched at eg. Greased Lightening - You are supreme the chicks'll cream for grease lightning! ************************************** Also the film has Stockard Channing the sexiest teenager in town - even if she was 30 !
  4. Bungalow Bar favourite - John Otway (& Wild Willy Barrett)
  5. The cry was no suspenders............................. ******************************* UFO - Best Of
  6. Sigur Rós - Ãgætis Byrjun ******************************** All right NSS - Gladrags it is! I hit you over the head with a pair of pink pantaloons!
  7. NSS - I called you out (see the fake Saints thread). What's it to be. Handbags or Glarags? Are we gonna get some action going or am I gonna have to chase your arse all over this site before I get some Satisfaction (in the Duelling sense). Porcupine Tree - Signify PS WYWH - 1975 (The lass from Springburn 15stone + false teeth - Makes yah weep!)
  8. I think I remember you now Bill. What a night! Still listening to Sigur Rós.
  9. It was the early 80's - Teardrop Explodes etc - Pixie Boots, a little bit of eyeliner.........er I'll stop there! Currently chilling out with a bit of Sigur Rós.
  10. Gallagher joined a Hong Kong outfit called Instant Dict.
  11. Classic Gold, each song takes me back to a different year and a different fashion disaster. Did I really wear Pixie Boots?
  12. Gallagher (17 goals in 35 games) and Lavety were a great partnership. He (Gallagher) had a bust up with Jimmy Bone, possibly over a sending off as he always was a niggly bastard with a penchant for late tackles. Left for a Hong Kong team, which, if I recall correctly, pretty much ended our season. After that..............................
  13. Desire - Bob Dylan Specifically waiting for Black Diamond Bay. I never did plan to go anyway..............
  14. dmc, If you're interested in hearing some early Genesis Click Here. It's actually got two of the tracks Howard recommends - The Knife and Cinema Show. If you're interested in Science Fiction, the lyrics on their early albums particulary Foxtrot are stunning.
  15. Always thought the Lamb album was fairly mediocre and pretty much an aberration in Genesis' progression (sic) if you consider the following two albums ie up to Steve Hackett's departure. Peter Gabriel gave the group an ultimatum that he'd be doing the "Rael" album next with or without the rest of them. Weak musically IMO, little interplay between keyboards and guitars, it's an album dominated by PG's lyrics, obviously. More of a straight rock album than Prog the highspot for me was Counting Out Time. The final insult must have been PG's decision to quit after the tour. Apparently relationships between the guys were quite strained for a few years afterwards. ************************************ Having said all of the above I must admit to having both the studio version and a live version from their US tour.
  16. HP VI - Yeah I enjoyed it. My wee girl was devasted when you know who died! Artemis Fowl - The first book was as much about Holly (a feisty female elf) as the eponymous hero. The author focuses the AF book at the intersection of the real and magical worlds.
  17. Led Zeppelin - Over The Hills And Far Away
  18. Just finished Harry Potter VI with No. 1 child. Will shortly be starting the second Artemis Fowl book - The Arctic Incident. ******************************** Apparently the fillum adaptation of the first book is in limbo because of a dispute between Disney and Miramax and the child actor selected to play Artemis is now too old for the role! You're never too old for a roll! Especially with Kirsten Dunst who would be my choice to play Holly.
  19. Now I'm a Christmas loving dude! The Music - Love It - Even tunes live Mud's Elvis tribute "It'll Be Lonely This Christmas". Shopping - Done mine (with one significant exception) and Mrs. BtB likes wrapping so that's covered (sic). The Crowds - One advantage of working odd hours is the time off, Tues-Fri this week, which means I can avoid 'em. **************************************** I do have three items to throw in the pot - 1. Cliff Richards -'nuff said I think! 2. Mince Pies - They're not made of bloody mince!! 3. It's A Wonderful Life - It's A Terrible Fillum. Just give him a push Clarence!!! ***************************************** I reserve the right to return to Item 3 later in the festive period.
  20. Phylter - Phylter A Belgian Prog Rock group from the 70's with masses of facial hair!
