  1. I am a big critic of the two stands to the OF crap but your are talking pish here. The two "big" stands hold approx 5000, that will not be enough for home fans based on recent home crowds so again why would we deprive home fans in favour of away. I hate the two stands to the cheeks nonsense but I accept it isn't depriving home fans of a ticket. Your plan imo in a play off final 2nd leg would. This isn’t my plan, this is Basils after the board announce it!
  2. If you had read the first post you will see that it was heavily qualified with ‘if’ we are in the playoffs and ‘if’ it was against United. I agree nothing has been decided and there will be some twists and turns.
  3. I think that has been my point all along, why deprive our supporters in favour of the opposition, but for some reason loads of boards apologists have been twisting and turning to justify it. If and it is only an if we are in the play offs and if it is against United. I believe the total crowd would be higher by giving them both stands. ST’s won’t be valid for this game so we wouldn’t be ‘moving’ anyone. Surely this is the type of scenario our board and their fans will be looking to be consistent in their outlook on. The fact the income goes to the league further adds to the argument that United having both ends would be good for Scottish football as a whole!
  4. If this is like any other game against Hamilton in the last 20 years the ball will be in play for about 15 mins maximum out of the 90 mins of the game.
  5. But we can accommodate all of our fans in the main and west so it makes perfect sense to give United both stands. Or is it only Bigots we bend over for?
  6. If as is looking likely we end up in the play offs and if as is possible we end up playing United. I think we should give United both the away stand and the family stand as I believe they could sell them both out and as we have already established through evidence and facts that increasing income is directly beneficial to the playing budget and that income maximisation is the only thing that we should be considering. I realise that this is a road to Damascus moment but having reread everything.... and I mean everything Bazil has posted I now see the error of my ways.
  7. Gordon said it so it must be true........ let me now try and scuttle about to get some figures to try and make this fit and call it evidence..... can anyone guess what poster I’m trying to be?
  8. Disappointing, but not unexpected shorttermism. With the same old inflated figures being peddled. The first game was nearly a sell out apparently, so does that mean crowds for the OF games are already on a downward trajectory with this ‘initiative’.........? here comes another few pages of nonsense from our resident Board apologist.
  9. Nah they are going to give Hamilton both ends on the Monday night! Is that because they bring more than a few fans.
  10. I wonder what stand these tickets are for, maybe community groups are more welcome at St Mirren Park when the OF visit than families are.
  11. But surely SMISA should have some sort of opinion on this?
  12. Why not also the family stand? it appears that is isn’t just Bazil and the board that thinks we are second class citizens.
  13. Can someone remind me of the current argument being put forward by Baz is that black is white or is it that white is black?
  14. Just had a peek at the Kilmarnock thread on pie and bovril. One look at this and the seethe, bile and sense of entitlement from the Rangers fans only confirms that we made the wrong decision.
  15. The difficulty that many of us have is that you continually conflate your opinion with facts, evidence and the truth. Just because something is said by you over and over does not make it true, a fact or a even a balanced conclusion based on facts. The one fact that can’t be disputed is that the board took the decision that this season they would prefer to increase the number of OF fans in our ground (with the unknown additional income and costs that that comes with that) to having a family area for our own fans, with the unknown but factual loss of income and unknown loss of fans in the longer term.
  16. Do you want to try and reword that and see if you can make it anymore condescending?
  17. After alienating your own supporters! The (your favourite word) ‘evidence’ clearly shows that the decision was taken following our two biggest home supports last season, and prior to season tickets going on sale, so the board had no ‘evidence’ that given the chance more supporters would have been tempted to buy season tickets throughout the stadium. Indeed our Chief Exec was regularly talking about us being a top six club.
  18. The decision to kick the families out was made before the start of the season, possibly (I don’t have time to check) before Jack Ross left. The club had no way of knowing that we wouldn’t have carried on the wave of optimism that had been built up over the great escape and title winning seasons.
  19. I mention the words board apologist and suddenly one appears on the thread. It is almost as if posting that phrase acts like some kind of rubbish bat signal.
  20. I think there is a crucial difference. The stand that we give away is the designated family stand, an initiative that the club has nurtured since the ground opened. The message that we are giving to our young supporters is you are welcome until rangers and Celtic come when we prefer their fans because there are more of them at the moment. With that sort of message going out to youngsters we aren’t exactly encouraging them to stick with being a saints supporter through thick and thin. I get the financial argument although as already gone through I really object to the over inflated figures used by both the club and its apologists to try and justify it.
  21. I don’t know how many but I do know that there was lost income from the ST’s being cheaper and even if everyone of the paying family stand ST holders took up their option of the west or main stand it was only going to cost them a tenner so there is still lost income. Every Adult ST holder from the family stand that I know didn’t attend any of the OF games.
  22. So when you said ‘around’ what you really meant was a MAXIMUM. Lose the VAT off it and you are now at a MAXIMUM of £72k
  23. It is amazing that you manage to come up with such a precise figure as £86,400 and then manage to throw it about in such a careless way. Much of the ‘extra’ income was lost with family stand season ticket holders not going to the game. These daft figures and assertions that the income would get us two extra players were all comprehensively debunked months ago. I’d be amazed if over the 3 home games against the OF the increase in income was £86,400, never mind in one game as you claim.
