  2. I couldn't see a thread devoted solely to the relegation battle, so I have taken the liberty of creating this one. As people have stated in tonight's match thread, it's looking like a four-way fight at the moment between ourselves, Ross County, Hamilton and Hearts. Form is obviously crucial, and the above table indicates that over the last five games Hearts have amassed the most points. Furthermore, in those five games they have played the Old Firm and a revitalised Kilmarnock. Hamilton have obviously had the worst run of form, and my money would be on them to be relegated. They looked good against us, however, and I think Templeton is a great signing. Their next two games are away to Hearts and then home to Motherwell, both of which will be a tough test for them. Both ourselves and Ross County have picked up a measly three points in the last five games. Our game against Hearts will be massive, especially given that we will play both the Old Firm in March. Unfortunately I think we have the toughest schedule of them all, and I would be delighted if we're in this position at the start of the split. I would be happy for us to grind out draws against St Johnstone, Motherwell and Hearts, although obviously I am hoping we snatch a win. This will be an interesting end to the season.
  3. Aye, Livingston clearly get better value for money. They're doing something right, and it would be good if we could emulate whatever that is. On another note, it must be very depressing for Livingston as a club that despite their success, nobody's interested in watching them. Like Clyde and, to a lesser extent, Inverness CT, these newly established clubs just cannot galvanise the interest of locals.
  4. Of course! I'm not suggesting that attendances and revenue is the only factor, as clearly that isn't the case. However there's obviously a correlation between attendances and success, and an obvious example of this is Rangers quick progression through the divisions. Were Albion Rovers to attract 50,000 paying supporters, I would imagine their financial clout would see them begin to achieve success on the field.
  5. Resources mean nothing?! Seriously? So the Old Firm's dominance of the Scottish game is nothing to do with them having more money than the rest, then?
  6. I think their e-ticketing system is worse than ours! Seats sold yesterday are now showing available!?! Anyway, SL2 = 7 sold SL3 = 38 sold Total = 45 tickets sold. I know people will pay on the night, but I expected more than that to have been sold. They brought 1,600 to Paisley, and the ticket prices have almost been halved, plus we now know we have a winnable home tie in the next round.
  7. Aye, but it's just been reported that Scottish clubs' biggest single source of income, by far, is from gate receipts. So we should be able to offer bigger wages, pay higher transfer fees, ceteris paribus.
  8. Tickets have now been restricted to the lower tier! https://www.eticketing.co.uk/motherwellfc/EDP/Event/Index/158 SL2 = 10 sold SL3 = 31 sold Total = 41 tickets sold.
  9. The problem with that is that if it's really bad weather, people without tickets won't go. That's why there were ~1,600 Motherwell fans at the game on Saturday and ~2,600 Saints fans in the ground - the former had already bought their tickets. Also I can see there being large queues. I intend to purchase my ticket in a day or two.
  10. DOT COUNT: Info taken from this link: https://www.eticketing.co.uk/motherwellfc/EDP/Event/Index/158 11th Feb @ 14:25 SL3 = 12 (excluding front four rows) SU3 = 12 SL2 = 2 Total = 26 seats sold I have noticed that none of the seats in the front four rows of the lower tier are available, and assume they've not been sold. Additionally, all of the seats in SL4 are unavailable, and 27 are unavailable in SU1 which I suspect have not been bought by our fans.
  11. It seems Motherwell are expecting a large number of us, as they're selling seats in the upper tier of the away stand. EDIT: WRONG THREAD!
  12. An absolute bargain! I paid £50 for three tickets for the home game, this would cost me £27! I hope there's a big gate to reward the clubs for agreeing on this, and thereby incentivise them to do this in the future. They're not for sale on the online system yet, though I suppose the tickets will need to be printed first.
  13. Fir Park's one of the few grounds I have never visited, so I think I ought to go along to this.
  14. Often there is a different mentality in the Cup. It's a difficult game I agree, but with a bit of luck we can get through.
  15. From a financial perspective playing one of the Old Firm away would be good. However for me the ideal scenario would be the Old Firm to draw one another, Hibs to host Aberdeen and, as someone has already said, for us to get ICT at home.
  16. It was to be expected given the weather warnings. However, as I said in the match thread, I thought the Northbank were amazing and a real credit to the club.
  17. Well I was relieved the game went ahead. Can you imagine if the game had been postponed or abandoned, and then we drew the rearranged game? Does Andrew Dallas wear contacts, because if he does he must have forgotten them, two clear penalties for hand ball not given. Jakubiak's goal was slightly fortuitous, but overall I thought we played reasonably well given the conditions and definitely deserved a draw. Credit to the Northbank, who were excellent throughout the game and generated a great atmosphere.
  18. I've got a classic b&w bar scarf that's at least 45years old. If that makes it an antique I'll sell it for the measly sum of £10k. Send me your bank details and I'll transfer the money...
  19. Can this be called off based solely on weather forecasts? Can anybody remember attending a game this century where there have been very strong winds?
  20. The power of a positive mental attitude?
  21. I've just noticed that. The game's either going to be postponed or abandoned...
