  1. Are you going for the "clever in its simplicity" type response here or could you just not come up with sensible argument? If the former, fail. My money is on the latter though.
  2. The posse being anyone who disagrees with Shull. That's quite a posse.
  3. Didn't you say the Dundee game was a training session though Shull? Surely Sammy like every other keeper ships lots of goals in training sessions. You can't have it both ways. Up to a point I share your opinion on Sammy but don't be a hypocrite.
  4. It's denied you the possibility make a last minute decision to take a nice wee run doon tae Largs if it's a nice day. I'm clutching at straws here.
  5. Just a thought but could it not just be that maybe Wee Stevie isn't as good as we thought he was? Or tgatvthe Championship in England is just a considerably higher standard than ours? Either way I cannae imagine the Barnsley manager is sittin there thinkin "this is a smashin wee player but just out of spite I'm no gonnae play him".
  6. Absolutely great man. Thanks to my Mum I grew up on his music and have loved it ever since. i remember when I was only about 7 playing Where's the Playground Suzie over and over and over again. Loved that song. As others have said Wichita Lineman is probably his most successful song and it is an absolute belter, but I always loved his version of the Joni Mitchell song, Both Sides Now. Absolute voice of an angel the man.
  7. You make a good point Jimmy. This has really put me off booking again unless I'm planning on coming up to Scotland anyway. And I guess the better we continue to do, the more likely it is that our games will be moved. I hope I'm wrong for your sake, but I think the Morton game is a shoo in.
  8. Ha ha. I had a similar thing. I fancied taking up Judo when I was about 12. My mate at school did it and I went along. It was 3pm every Saturday. I ask you!! Needless to say my judo career didn't have much longevity!
  9. Good post mate. I suspected you meant character but that's probably a criticism of all new stadia rather than SMP. There's actually very few stadia with character left in Scotland. Certainly in the top two divisions. It's hard to imagine SMP will ever be considered to have character but the fans are the ones who decide whether it is soulless or not. To date it pretty much has been but towards the end of last season and with a decent start to this, I suspect things are about to change. Think I was at all of those games you mentioned. All great nights. That's another thing. Night games always seemed to generate a better atmosphere. Is there any science to that?
  10. Fair dos FS. I genuinely missed that. ye can whilstle for yer £20 tho!
  11. Sorry FS but that's a very narrow view. I agree that for the guy who has to travel from Foxbar or Glenburn it doesn't make a whole lot of difference. Some of us have paid good money on flights for this game and for it to be rescheduled at such short notice is effin ridiculous!! Effin furious about this.
  12. Jeezo! I remember my faither taking me to a couple of old second division games in the early 70s and you could've had a blether with the players. Love Street capacity then was probably well over 40k and with max 2k hardy souls in it on a freezing cold day, the moon would've had more atmosphere.
  13. Sorry mate but you're just wrong. Atmospheres are created by fans not stadia. If you want to say that the new ground doesn't have the same character as Love Street then I'll accept that. But of course it wouldn't. It's a brand new stadium. Much as it pains me to say it I've heard Celtic fans making one helluva racket at the new ground. And to be perfectly honest I was at the Falkirk game and I thought the atmosphere was pretty decent. Probably the best atmosphere of any game I was ever at in the old ground would've been the 1980 Scottish Cup replay against Celtic. If that's the kind of atmosphere you want to see return then you're going to be waiting for a long time. But that atmosphere wasn't created by Love Street. It was created by the 30k or so punters inside.
  14. Gutted to miss out on the Paul Rudden question. That was so obvious!! Great footage of the Dundee United game. Not my first Saints game but definitely the game I officially became a rabid Saints fan. The day I absolutely got the bug and it has never left me since.
  15. Even if it had meant that pretty much our first team had lost to a non league side?
  16. Agree with almost all of this bar two things. I think the competition in its original format was fine. A wee cup comp for all league teams in Scotland bar the premier league. A bit like the JPT in England only arguably more "prestigious" as it included the Scottish second tier. The fact that the fans have never really bought into it (perhaps apart from the latter stages) isn't really the fault of the competition itself. I do agree though that the current format is utterly ridiculous. Particularly the colt teams more than the Welsh or Irish teams. However the second point I disagree with you on is that like it or not (not probably in most fans opinions) we are in the competition and I fail to see what good can come from deliberately throwing a game. Your logic would suggest that you'd have preferred we lost to EK. I think that would have constituted the most embarrassing result in our entire history, regardless of the stakes. So in short I agree with your opinion of the competition but not with your support (or lack) of our participation in it.
  17. You keep getting this wrong Shull! We DO belong there. we just currently don't deserve to be there!
  18. Could it really be that after nearly 40 minutes we still haven't scored against a non league team. Dear oh dear.
  19. Div lettin the side down tonight. Still, doesnae sound like we're missin much so far
  20. Bollocks!! Dont believe that. Dino Zoff had dark hair. Sure he was taller than Samny too. And he always wore a grey jersey. Utter nonsense!
