  1. Been listening to them loads recently. Tremendous stuff.
  2. Nice one KS. Just got Amusement Parks on Fire through from Amazon after reading this . I see where you're coming from with the Ride influence. Loads of My Bloody Valentine and Adorable going on in there as well. Good album. f**king hard to find though!
  3. Dunno Howard. I thought that was the weekend that it was cold and wet on the Friday, scorchio on the saturday but pishing from the heavens all day Sunday. So much so that all the cars and even a polis horse got stuck in the mud. I may be wrong though. The only time I saw Nirvana was when the headlined Reading on a Sunday night. It was the last UK gig they ever played (the Cobain in a wheelchair one), and it was definitely pishing and freezing that night.
  4. I was indeed and still listening to them. Nowhere is by far the best album. Ride were also tremendous live. Best gig of my life was Reading Festival (1991 I think), Ride playing just before the Smashing Pumpkins on the Saturday. f**king magic. Don't remember you from the Clubhoose though Bongo. PS. For all you ex Clubhoose junkies, I saw Davie the bouncer quite recently. Blind as a bat now with a guide dug and a stick. Very sad.
  5. Tremendous film. All becomes clear after the second viewing though, so if you can stomach the fire extinguisher scene again, have another gander. Edited to add this... "The first 30 minutes of the film has a background noise with a frequency of 28Hz (low frequency, almost inaudible), similar to the noise produced by an earthquake. In humans, it causes nausea, sickness and vertigo. It was the main cause of people walking out of the theaters during the first part of the film in places like Cannes and San Sebastian. In fact, it was added with the purpose of getting this reaction." Weird.
  6. Susan oot o' Neighbours. Now we're talking. Hubba hubba.
  7. Stiff Little Fingers - Love of the Common People.

Never been in it, but I think there's a shop on Love St of all places. I also believe ST holders get some sort of discount there.
  9. Yes indeedy sir, I do have tickets for Sunday.
  10. Just found it. 31st March @ King Tut's? Will get the ball rolling. You up for going too?
  11. Where? When? How much? Been on the website but can't find anything. Would definitely be up for that, as would 3 of my mates.
  12. Agree with HHiBSS on the Melon Collie album. Takes a bit of listening to as it is pretty different from the first 2 albums, but grows on you. Not a patch on Siamese Dream though. Also bought the Arctic Monkeys today, more on recommendation than anything else. It is absolutely tremendous. Instantly likeable. Anyway, 5 discs in the car today are: 1. Arctic Monkeys - Whatever You Say I Am, That's What I'm Not 2. Smashing Pumpkins - Gish 3. Cocteau Twins - Stars and Topsoil 4. Dead Kennedys - Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death (Pulled this one out of the collection after Howard mentioning Nazi Punks in another thread. ) 5. Richard Ashcroft - Keys to the World

On the lawn Bill. Watched it for 10 minutes while I went to get my paper. Was pissing myself laughing cos they took it so damn seriously. The crowd consisted of 100 bams, 20 teenage mums, 4 elderly gents shaking their heads and 3 dugs. It really was truly dreadful. Shooooot it up up up up up up up up up up! Anyway, the band I can't stand at the moment are the Magic Numbers. Over-rated dross.
  15. The mighty Jethro Tull - Witches Promise.
  16. I stand corrected LS. Hadn't really thought about it, but haven't seen them for years so that may be a good shout. i assume it's March 17th as usual?
  17. Strangely enough, I also have SLF Live at Barrowlands 1987 in the CD player. Quality reminiscing going on there.
  18. Acoustic guitarist (Spanish I presume). Getting played a lot on Radio 2 just now. Album is advertised on the telly. Bit "dinner party", but a good chill out album.
  19. Just bought the Jose Gonzales album. Very good actually.
  20. 2 gammon steaks and a milk bottle? A dolphin's heid? Probably. Dirty bassa. But wee Rosemary (formerly of the Kelburne Tavern now of the Club bar) ............I doubt even Wull would do that.
  21. 1. The Green Wing 2. Fawlty Towers 3. The Office 4. Monty Python 5. Absolutely
  22. On the subject of schwally, has anybody tried Well's Banana Bread Beer? It's absolutely tremendous IMO. Beer that tastes of bananas!
  23. I'd love to hear her describe the taste of that!!!
  24. Not a massive whisky fan but have been known to partake in..... 1. Highland Park 2. Macallan 3. Aberlour 4. Glenmorangie (port wood finish) 5. Glengoyne (just the 10 year old)
