  1. Does anyone else agree that now would be the ideal time to campaign for league reconstruction? I feel there are compelling arguments for increasing the number of teams in the top division, and that there is no time to waste in terms of introducing this. Tomorrow would be ideal, but certainly in time for the start of next season. 16 or 18, it is all the same to me, frankly.
  2. As I've just posted over on the Edwards thread (and thought it would be relevant here), the BBC producer and Saints supporter Dougie McNeil has tweeted that he understands there will be no further business unless we ship players out. McNeil tends to be pretty accurate with Saints related stuff. Dearie me
  3. According to Dougie McNeil on Twitter, this one might be the only one....
  4. He looks quite pacy, so that's a bonus.
  5. Genuine question, and not simply trying to be a prick for the sake of it (I don't need to try) - Why this signing, at this point in time? Anyone?
  6. Welcome Ryan. All the best during your spell with Saints.
  7. I can't imagine that anyone would derive any pleasure from Stubbs losing his job, but we are where we are. It was very apparent on Saturday that something is seriously amiss, so action of some description is required. When I am passing colleagues at work who are shaking their heads and asking what the f**k has happened at my club, it is clear that we have a problem.
  8. I can't see him going well before that, to be honest.
  9. I don't need a source. If the BoD aren't backing Stubbs, they either intend to bag him, or they are hanging him out. Note I say IF. Either way, I fear this will not end well for our current manager. I do not wish him any personal ill, but I can't see him turning things around. Hanging him out would be pretty shabby, so I think he will be paid off sooner rather than later. All speculation, and my apologies if I am repeating myself.
  10. FFS, I could take a dig like that coming from some on here, but....
  11. If you think people have thrown in the towel, then that would suggest that the club don't really need that kind of support, so why even bother with them? You can't help but jump on things, and it often seems that you are doing it simply to generate a wee bit of a stooshie. That's fine, but it can grate a little when many of us are already feeling pretty scunnered about things.
  12. I seems the end game might well be approaching.
  13. I certainly hadn't made my mind up about Stubbs as soon as he was appointed, nor would I ever be smug in response to St Mirren falling on hard times. It is blatantly obvious to anyone who applies a bit of reason to our current situation that we are in a very precarious position. Why would anyone be pleased or smug about that? It's a real shame when we were in such a fantastic position. No-one is jumping off the St Mirren bus as you would have it. We are all fans on here (well, the considerable majority are) and we hurt when things are going badly. This doesn't need to be a point scoring exercise. People are concerned, and will quite justifiably express that on here and elsewhere.
  14. Good luck with your optimism, Robert. This is Tommy Craig territory. If you genuinely believe that there is the remotest chance that we aren't unravelling, then I admire your spirit but pity your naivety in equal measure.
  15. The baw's burst. Whoever is out last, don't forget to put the lights off.
  16. David Martindale (I'm not saying any more)....
  17. To be fair, the BoD would be equally culpable if they let it happen. It would be evidence - if any more is required - that Livingston have more ambition to stay in this division than St Mirren. That, in itself, would be a f**king disgrace. Livingston have a fan base of around 220 plus a couple of stray drugs and a few empty crisp pokes. If we all but gave away arguably our best player to them, it would be game over. I can’t see it myself.
