  1. We have no idea how successful we would have been with Jack here or will be with the new manager. Of course Jack gets the lion’s share of plaudits but the squad were the ones getting the results. There were some screaming for Jack’s sacking during the first few months and yet with time it all clicked. Also, with or without Jack we need to bring in another 8-9 players and blu then will we see how well we perform under the new guy- given time. Fergie struggled in his first season in the top league. I support the club first and foremost whoever manages or plays. I have no idea who will get the job but we are not the old firm, Aberdeen or Embra duo who can offer a lot more money than we can. Living within our means the candidates we attract and afford will not be some of the fantasy figures mooted by the press. Why would someone like Guti who will be on a much higher salary in Spain come to a provisional club for less money? No management appointment guarantees success and I will wish the successful man all the best and support him and the team as I have for over 50 years.
  2. Do we buy season tickets to watch the team or the manager?
  3. But StuD (citing your last paragraph) why would that be when John Kennedy is being appointed (according to you)?
  4. Perhaps but you need to take into account his work and success at QOS and Dunfermline.
  5. I know, you couldn’t make it up....oh wait StuD just did.
  6. I assume he either has a crystal ball or is sitting in the interview panel? How can anyone outside St Mirren FC know the outcome of a process that hasn’t yet been concluded? Anyway, StuD has told us John Kennedy has got the job so maybe you are right mate.
  7. You really have to wonder why he would put himself forward for a middle of the road Scottish club than going for a bigger and more lucrative post down south or nearer home? I think, if he is given the job he will not be here long.
  8. I didn’t say you were lying, I asked you to prove that what you were claiming as fact could be backed up by evidence. I can’t accuse you without evidence.
  9. FFS talk about deflection. I know what a fact is and citing that our club is bigger than Dundalk has no bearing on you claiming you were told by someone of the reason RN has withdrawn from the interview process. Any fact is based on actual evidence. You continually spout about being in the know and yet have absolutely nothing of substance than your own words to back up what you say. If I make a statement of fact I will back it up with proof or provide evidence. I believe the reason he opted out is that you and John Kennedy told him that the latter was to become the new manager as claimed by you of course.
  10. Bullshit. Any fact is only one where evidence is presented. Without any evidence your are either spouting an allegation, hearsay or a falsehood.
  11. ...but you said the job was going to John Kennedy. What was he considering over the weekend? Well said mate.
  12. No, but you need to provide some evidence to substantiate your claim.
  13. 100%true? Exactly how do you know this? If info IS being given to you I would be hugely disappointed in leaks within the club and someone at the club should be sacked. Again, there is no way TF would state that 4th is the bare minimum when we are going into the unknown against more established clubs. Finally, why would TF entertain enquiries from the likes of RN and make such alleged statements out with the recruitment process?
  14. StuD you getting horses and unicorns mixed up? There is no way anyone at our club would place that demand having just been promoted, haven't a manager and full compliment of players. TF might have that dream in his fantasy land but I am sure establishing us as a premiership club and survival this season will be the key aim.
  15. So, what you are implying is that rather than employing JK if he has been chosen, the club are going to waste their time and that of prospective candidates by undertaking a selection and recruitment process next week? If that was indeed true then serious questions would have to be asked. However, I find it incredible that you somehow have been told by someone that JK will be the new manager. I am sure that key members of our board read this forum and if your claims had any accuracy they wouldn't be progressing with their upcoming recruitment process. The fact that nothing has been said implies you are talking nonsense or, at best, wildly speculating. If JK is indeed given the job it will be a result of him being the best candidate from all applicants selected and interviewed.
  16. Well said. The contracts of many players only ended yesterday. Haven't seen much action from any premier team other than Rangers and Livvie. Better to bring the right man in than rush ahead and end up with egg on our face. I would add that we have brought in 2 new squad players to date.
  17. One of the main things to take on board with Jim McIntyre is the number of players brought to Ross County during his tenure that caused a lack of continuity. Roy McGregor and his bottomless pickets of money helped him out.
  18. Who we would like is one thing, who was/is available now and how much we can afford to pay in salary is another. None of us know who has/will apply for the position so while Robbie N is one possible candidate, there would be a number of applicants unknown. Look at Steve C at Killie, who would have thought he would be interested in that post? Our Board will have considered a replacement or at least the type of manager they would like to bring in. Getting that person is the challenge and sometimes out with the Board's control.
  19. More shocked at Livvie enticing Craig Sibbald.
  20. Can't see him displacing Main or any of the other Motherwell main strikers.
  21. Good points but has to be balanced with who we bring in with money in the bank?
  22. It is still May, contracts are still to run out and people are on holiday. Losing our manager is disappointing and there is no good time to lose someone of Jack's ability. However, he has gone and the club are unlikely to take half arsed decision that the old board did and hire unsuitable candidates. TF has already stated the club had considered the likelihood of Jack leaving so I put my trust in him and the Chairman to bring in a suitable replacement.
  23. Only the top clubs can splash cash so unless Celtic, Gers, Aberdeen and Embra duo suddenly have a vacancy then he is likely to remain out of work. I guess that leaves down south but his last job may have ended any chance of managing a club with money to splash.
  24. Whatever happened to players signing for the Club who pay the wages. If every signing was based on popularity of the manager then some would have hundreds on their books and some very few.
  25. Jack Ross rated him. That should be good enough. At least let him settle in and kick a ball before judging him in black and white.
