  1. If the rumour that Owen Coyle was interested in the summer has and substance can you just imagine what our season would have been like with him in charge of signings and then games. I think I want to cry.
  2. Two wrongs don't make a right, but that's exactly what TC did with his interview at the weekend, and even moreso with the reported '18 months' comment tonight. That was appalling if he said it in the way reported.
  3. Let if go FFS. We've a lot more important things to concern ourselves with than the ancient personal agenda of a bitter 'ex' Saints fan.
  4. This makes really depressing reading.
  5. Don't worry, I'm sure when I watch Sportscene tomorrow I'll see the incident in slow motion, with a big magnifying glass over it, and then a call from the pundits for it to be a retrospective red card...
  6. What we don't see in detail is a lot of the stuff that goes on during a game. Even the least 'paranoid' Saints fan will surely admit that Goodwin has been targeted by other teams and their fans over the last 18 months. Most people missed that elbow from Paton on Saturday. Maybe there were another half a dozen bits of physical and verbal abuse to wind Jim up? It's not a defence. We need him to be able to rise above that kind of provocation, but it might just explain where some of the inexplicable things he does come from.
  7. Just watched it. If it had been anyone else it would not even have been mentioned.
  8. Every one I believe has accepted the officials got the offside decision with Gardyne and Aqrquin wrong. However the highlights show that Saints first goal shouldn't have been chopped off (Naismith actually pushed from behind causing him to contact the player in front) and Arquin definitely doing an ice hockey blocking job on Kello for RC's first. Shame the usual Sportscene highlights programme missed Ball's great chance in the second half... same as Ball then.
  9. Bobby_F doesn't like people who talk about themselves in the third person.
  10. Saints completely outplayed Well on the opening game of the season. Seemed like one of those 'funny old game' things when Well nicked an undeserved winner. However Well have proven to be just as bad as they looked that day. We too will have the opportunity to sign players in January - and hopefully we may have Thompson back fit again. Osborne and Teale will also surely become available again. For the last few weeks we have been playing with a very very young team; with several players being asked to play more major roles than anyone expected at the start of the season. . I expected Elvis to say we were poor yesterday, but genuinely suprised at the reaction of so many others. I thought we played some excellent stuff in very large parts of the game and with some of our injured players back, and maybe one or two signings in January I don't see why so many have us as relegation certs. With all of the doom and gloom around the performances, and our long losing streak at the start, you might think we'd be lucky to be only 4-5 points behind second bottom. We're not.
  11. Surprised to see so many Saints fans down on our performance today. For the first 70 minutes Saints were playing some great stuff, and RC were barely in the game. We should have been out of site, but therein lies our problems... we can't finish our good set up play, and our defence is prone to costly errors. Free header from RCs first corner - and indeed first foray in to our half - for the first; and then Goodwin too easily muscled off the ball for the second. Although I think the officials screwed up when Gardyne and Arquin were through on the keeper. Think Gardwyn was onside, Arquin probably off, and was surprised when the flag went up. Not sure what happened to Ball when Reilly (I think) knocked the ball across the goal to him in what would have been one of the best counter attacking goals I'd ever have seen us score. Amazing move; dreadful end. We totally fell out of it in the last 20 minutes. Surprised that there was no sign of anyone coming from our bench during that time. I know our inexperienced squad is down to bare bones, but Teale was on the bench and expected to see him (or even Marwood) come on so we'd go for the win.
  12. To be fair, I think Naismith's shot that was parried by the defender's arm was on target too. As was Goodwin's in the last minute. We needed to create more and better chances than we did, but the personnel we were relying on to do that are too young - and too easily dominated by the bigger and more experienced ICT players - to do that.
  13. Stonewaller yes. Given maybe 1 in 10 times it happens though. Daft from McAusland, but on most days it would have been ignored by the officials.
  14. This is only the ref's second SPL game. 9 red cards issued last season.
  15. Good point. Actually, there are not exactly a huge amount of old heads in the starting 11 either. Kello, McAusiand, Goodwin? Average age of the rest must be under 23?
  16. Just watched the highlights. Never heard we'd a goal disallowed at 0-0. Seen those given regularly. Also thought the yellow for diving was unbelievably harsh at the end. Kenny should also have scored at 0-0. Hard to tell from the highlights, but looked like two shit (but evenly matched) teams, with us coming away with nothing again. We're not relegated yet. There's several teams in this league who look just as bad as we are. It'll be down to who improves. If we don't, we're gone, but we do have time.
  17. Good point. Zero atmosphere on Saturday. What really surprised me was that away to Well, when playing some really exciting attacking football, the atmosphere was poor too. Normally you expect the away support to make a lot more noise, but it didn't happen at Fir Park; and that was even when the team were doing their job.
  18. I missed the Accies game, but against Well and Dundee I thought we played very very well indeed. Just watched the highlights there and the number and quality of chances we created on Saturday was more than in most victories we had last season. Take the 3-0 victory away to Partick as an example of how the result and the performance don't always go hand in hand. I think our squad is better than it was last season, and I think it's only a matter of time until that shows. On Ball specifically, I thought he's showed some great touches and awareness. His pass to Kenny in the first half which created a great chance was top drawer.
  19. There was even a Crazy Train reference earlier too :-)
  20. Yup. Scotland applies. Scotland joins. I think it'd be wrong for us to join without applying. That'd be more like annexation :-)
  21. Wish I'd stopped reading at the bit where you chose to not understand the meaning of RAISE. When you behave like that can you expect anyone to take anything else you say seriously? Phew! Almost forgot who I was talking to there. Bye!
