  1. The hardest part will be trying to remind people that. in a UK general election, voting for the SNP is not the same as doing so in a Scottish election. It is actually a vote to demand self determination and ultimately cause the disbandment of the SNP.

Gogic agreeing a new three year deal gives notice, if any was required, that Saints as a club are indeed on the up. What a great piece of news prior to two massive games.
  4. Because their choice is ultra right wing tory, blue tory, red tory or, god forbid, Ed Davy. In other words, No choice. We, on the other hand, have a real choice in independence. IF we are brave enough to vote as a nation, not for the SNP, but vote SNP for independence then we make it very difficult for the incoming labour, (red tories), to refuse a nation the right to choose their destiny.
  5. Certainly should be able to win the home ties. Killie have had a day less to recover from what must have been a gruelling contest with 10 men and losing Wright for the game should aid us. We have already beaten Hearts. The game v Celtic could well depend on what they need to do.
  6. As far as I'm concerned, VAR is only a positive addition to those, like fartaway, who watch football on the the box, not in the stadium. It's almost an extension to the new fad of reality TV. It takes away from the match day experience. It was meant to reduce the number of wrong/controversial decisions but it's done the opposite. Even in the leagues where they have the cash to fund it properly it doesn't improve the game. It's time to ditch this and admit it is an expensive failure.
  7. It's OK. We keep getting told these things even themselves out so we should be in third place by Sunday! 🤣
  8. Oh how I would love this attitude from Westminster. No matter HOW we get there, I would be delighted to achieve independence thus ending the reason for the SNP. A vote for self determination is after all a vote to disband the party whose main reason, in fact core reason, for existence is to free us from the shackles of an uneven, unfair "partnership".
  9. Perhaps they are printing them to speed up the process. You have to remember that Saints get nothing from these sales.
  10. That's a pity. We'll just have to rely on Carson for the extra goal then.
  11. If that were the case I would think eating nuts before boarding would be just as problematic.
  12. I can't see how stopping you from eating nuts on a plane prevents you from having been in contact with them.
  13. The bit in bold is absolutely wrong. There wasn't one usual drink unaffected. Beer, whisky, vodka, you name it, was affected by the stupid, blanket blame unit pricing. I hate the tory philosophy with a vengeance but, in this instance, I have to agree with their stance. Remember the excess money accrued by the ridiculous minimum price policy only lines the pockets of those selling the drink. Almost mirroring what happens with illegal drink/drug sales.
  14. IF that's the case it means he is likely to be plying his trade in the west of Scotland. Half way ok so far.
  15. Another nanny state interference. And it will never work. There was a 40 something woman actually interviewed saying, and I kid you not, "I wish the ban was in place when I was 11!. BIG NEWS HEN. IT WAS! You were smoking illegally. The only way this can work medium to long term is the introduction of identity cards to show you're 25, not 24, or 35, not 34. I stopped smoking almost 30 years ago but, if the government are allowing sale of tobacco to one adult, it should be the same for all adults. Yes. Use education as a weapon against it but not this. It's bad enough that the overbearing Scottish Parliament is trying to stop all those but the well off to have a drink without interfering even more with people's rights.
  16. Almost certainly. Hemming has been too good for us to keep him.
  17. 'Hypocritical': Rangers' Dundee stance blasted on-air | Glasgow Times Pretty much agree with this. Except for liking the rangers or wanting them to win the league.
  18. Has anyone heard what's happening with Bolton? Taken off with some sort of injury but I haven't seen anything regarding what and how serious the injury is.
  19. Disappointed not to take all three points. VAR once again fecked us. Given the fact the obvious penalty that wasn't awarded would have possibly given us a one goal advantage, there is no certainty it would have changed the result but it does prove, if proof was needed, that VAR in this country does nothing to improve the game north of Hadrian's wall.
  20. It's not even certain we'll be top six yet. I think I'll wait until I see where we are after the next two games. IF we pick up points and Killie don't, or vice versa, your scenario changes. I do agree that a short Euro adventure might stretch us but there are so many younger fans who never got to experience our past exploits that I couldn't begrudge them the opportunity.
  21. IF VAR had improved the decision making I would be in favour. IMO, it hasn't. Our system is a cheap and nasty copy of the English version. Add to this my aforementioned concerns. The part of your post I highlighted is a real concern because we HAVE the long delays followed by the WRONG decision. A recipe for ridicule. As for the quote you inserted, (I don't see his posts unless he is quoted), It doesn't matter if it was for us or against us. It was still the wrong decision. The only thing I would say is, In Paisley, they were wrongly awarded a goal with the last kick of the ball, even with VAR. 1 point instead of 3 points. We won 0-3. In Aberdeen. 3 points instead of, well, 3 points.
  22. VAR was brought in without the equipment to actually make it workable. It was meant to ASSIST the on field officials, and, by god, they needed assistance. BUT. The officials are still making the same "errors" even after micro-analysing every decision. The hidden officials are getting involved in situations they should leave alone. As I have already said, No slow or stop motion should be used to upgrade yellow cards as, most times, it makes any challenge look much worse than it is. It's the same for hand ball decisions for penalties. Slow the video down and you see a brush of a sleeve which is usually unintentional and isn't even enough to deviate the flight of the ball. Some of the off side decisions using our cheap system are laughable as we don't have enough cameras to judge them properly. All in all. I think, given the controversy around the decisions, our form of VAR has actually made things worse and should be scrapped. The money would be far better spent on independent monitoring of officials' performances and for them to be accountable for any obvious atrocious or apparent bias decisions. Maybe then the smaller clubs wouldn't be so unfairly impacted by on field decisions as the officials would know they'd be scrutinised.
  23. You're right. You made no point. But it looks as if you were trying to.
  24. And if that were a national anthem of Scotland I'm certain it would goad a reaction from our southern brethren, but it's not, so your point is invalid.
