  1. Typical reply from you. I have made my views on the EU many times. It's an undemocratic clusterf**k of the highest order and has been on the road to implosion for years. Now that one of the few net contributors has finally been forced out by their own electorate, that implosion is coming sooner. Now, if you do understand written English, you might just might start to comprehend that my opinion of the EU could hardly be more diametrically opposed to ZA's. But I defend freedom of speech and am happy to have dialogue with anyone once they stop flinging round insults, especially with childish sexual innuendo thrown in to boot. The clusterf**k that is Europe is nothing short term to that of old UK when the barriers go up in Gretna and Newry. The SNP are continuing to whore themselves to Brussels and that will backfire on them. You are one of the few who have admitted that you would take independence at any cost and that is your right. I wonder though if there are not a lot of SNP voters out there who are feeling just a tad uncomfortable about Nicola Sturgeon making it clear that she wants to ingratiate herself to Europe at every opportunity. It's a busted flush. PS I fully expect you to say that I have used sexual innuendo above. I have but it's not directed at an individual.
  2. Was it only the final sentence that rattled your cage? ZA has regularly given us incisive posts with his slant as a legal eagle. One of the good guys. Did you only read the last sentence? Or does your emoticon indicate that you were genuinely amused? Hard to know with you.
  3. Sorry if this has been raised and I've missed it, but why am I not allowed to 'like' some posts? It appears to apply only to some. Is there any reason?
  4. The proletariat never gets to elect the cnuts. If they wanted they could change their leaders as often as we change our knickers. Once a week in many cases.
  5. Thank you very much. Fixed it for me instantly.
  6. You really have a deep rooted hatred for a lot of your countrymen and you only believe in democracy when it works in your favour.
  7. It's not their job. There is still a cabinet in place together with a PM and chancellor. That could change I suppose. This is virgin territory for everyone and I'm going to enjoy it. It's not all about Scotland anyway. Europe was inevitably going to implode anyway and this will probably expedite it. But if the Scots still love Merkel and Hollande, so be it. You might get your wishes one day.
  8. I think it looks good and enjoying it on my laptop but simply can't get anything on my phone which is a pain. Kept getting asked if I have forgotten my password and then won't let me change it when I try. Help!
  9. An hour or two is a long time in politics. Let the fun begin. At this point it looks like Remain's scare stories weren't scare stories. Economic shambles looks to be ahead for at least a while. And wait until the weeping and wailing from the firm democrats who can't accept democratic votes begins. A yawnfest on the way big style.
  10. I believe he is in foreign climes. Maybe even climbs knowing him.
  11. My heart says leave and my head says stay. If the decision is leave, I'll certainly enjoy watching the fallout. One thing I do believe is that the genie is out of the bottle so far as immigration is concerned and it won't go back in easily. There has been no real discussion for years and it's proving to be a ticking bomb.
  12. How can anyone welcome this if there is any truth in it? It's the nightmare scenario we've worried about for years and are trying to prevent. Hard to believe that the present board would go along with it.
  13. Just read Treaclebreek's post again. What personal insults? It would take a shrinking violet to be upset by anything in it. When I use my own patter I'll be sure not to confuse stealing with women's drawers.
  14. I didn't know Tam and by the sound of things it was my misfortune never to have met him. The heartfelt posts here speak volumes for the man. I'm sure his family will be moved by them. RIP, fellow Bud.
  15. Agree completely. I managed about the first forty years of my life standing at matches and to this day it still doesn't feel right to be sitting watching. Unfortunately I don't see them ever turning the clock back. We always cater for the lowest common denominator nowadays and that's very low. I was out on a tall ship a fortnight ago for three hours and didn't sit down once even at my age.
  16. Would that not be sore? I think I remember now.
  17. I refuse to answer on the grounds that my wife has a totally uncanny instinct for twigging when I say anything inappropriate about horizontal olympics. And one of my sons reads everything on here. And I don't like to boast.
  18. Yes, 69 isn't a bad age to be especially when I remember some good guys, unfortunately no longer with us, who would have been 69 this year too. And I confess that, like Drew, I felt a bit emotional when I realised we had got the magic number we needed. A great all round effort from good Buddies. PS. The number 69 reminds me of something else. Something nice, but buggered if I can remember exactly what it is.
  19. Absolutely the greatest. As a boxer, a man and super entertainer. What a tragedy that parkinson's disease stole him away from us years ago. I couldn't bear to watch the shadow of the man he used to be when he appeared in public. Sonny Liston was a great name too. RIP Muhammad Ali.
  20. The potato famine contributed too but you would think it only happened in Ireland.
  21. Have you ever been up in that neck of the woods when the midges go berserk? It would tip a man over the edge. It's perfectly acceptable to call them anything you like. Thinking about over the edge, could be quite a few guys on this forum have been up there.
  22. I've never claimed to be a rocket scientist, like what you have, but I think your assertion that the number of aliases a guy can have is literally endless is right up there with Buzz Lightyear's 'To infinity and beyond!'
  23. When you look at the top five now in terms of youngest to 10,000 runs, the other four are all clearly better than Cook. The only thing I would say about that is that Cook scored virtually all his runs as an opener. There is always that little bit of extra pressure on openers to get off to a good start and build a good foundation. When guys like Tendulkar, Kallis, Ponting and Jayawardene got to the wicket when there were 150 plus runs on the board, it was money for old rope with their skills.
  24. And hell knows what elsewhere might mean. It would be a pity for this to fail because we were just a few dozen short. Coys (fans).
  25. Is the amount pledged by the 600+ in the public domain yet? As we've seen, a fair number of fans have pledged more than the minimum and possibly that might mean that achieving 1,000 members, while still desirable, isn't the be-all and end-all.
