  1. I'd like to know where the "evicted peasants" got their riches from to buy land and slaves??
  2. What is the qualification to be a CE?? or CEO for that matter??
  3. Stuart, I've been watching your comparisons to "Atlantis" with interest..........you did this in a previous thread and there are some glaring inaccuracies in your portrayal of "Atlantis" in what it is, has, and how it has come to be what it is. For a start the sports hall was built on the back of fundraising campaign in the local community which over time raised, if I remember correctly, around £400,000.00 (a major amount of that money was given from the various hotel groups and chains operating in the area) and over £1m of donations from the "National Lottery". In the mid 90's you got quite a lot for that kind of spend. You are correct that the centre is based on putting profits back in to the charity to be re-invested on further developments and there have been great success stories along the way, you are also correct that people put forward proposals and if thought viable and add value to the centre and to the community working parties will look at how they can be created. However, Atlantis doesn't have five football pitches ..... it has a five a side pitch. Atlantis has tennis courts and gym facilities as well as the sports hall facilities. I have a strong attachment to Oban and although we are very proud of it ...... Atlantis is a great facility in it's area, built on grants and funding plus local input but I don't think any of us involved would consider it "world class".
  4. I'm not getting the kit this year as I've stated, but how hard is it for someone at St.Mirren to contact one of the useless twats in charge at JD and get a date set in stone. Fans here have been treated like muck, wheres Tony Fitz through all this, his big thing is getting fans on board any getting bums on seats. Why would anyone bother when all they will end up getting is regular kicks to the stones and treated like a clown. 0 Like this Quote I know for an absolute fact that both Tony Fitzpatrick and Campbell Kennedy have both been in contact with JD various times this week and previous weeks.............the problem is that JD don't have a date set in stone for them receiving the kits never mind distributing them which is causing the knock on effect. A shite set of circumstances for certain but that is the situation, or was, yesterday.
  5. His Dad, who I believe has quite an influence over him, is very keen for him to stay and develop with us, at least for the time being........his agent, if he has one, may be different of course!!
  6. I thought it was more to do with their chairman, saying out loud, what every sane supporter in Scotland was thinking !!
  7. What is funny that you actually think you know more than a guy who has been in the financial sector for more than 40 years. The bit above in bold is the bit I was referring to old boy!!
  8. Or the Governor of the Bank of England if you've been watching the live broadcast this last 20 minutes!!!!
  9. Personally I like the fact that the strip can be bespoke which is one of only a couple of good points about the deal with JD, the other being the commercial aspect. No doubt Adidas do cracking strips though.
  10. Surely you're not praising a strip that isn't an Adidas catalogue strip!!!!! Loving the strip and loving the overall positivity, looking forward to seeing the other kits too.
  11. That is conjecture I'm afraid, to put this into play they had to a) get elected and b ) have a majority to carry it through. There is no doubt that they achieved both but until that point there was no "guaranteed" EU Referendum
  12. I think our first "pinstripe" top was in 1884 although it was only black and white stripes, I don't think you'd have liked the blue shorts and socks that went with it right enough!!
  13. Only if "they" won the General Election which at the point of announcement was far from certain!!
  14. Well that's Johnson shat it........TC will be gutted!
  15. Your original claim was that there was more than 30 recorded incidents per day, surely the proof will be in the fact that they are recorded..............go on, accept/admit that you were incorrect
  16. Sorry Stuart, I didn't quote you correctly.......you actually said more than 30 a day!! I've admitted my mistake, can you admit yours or can you back up your "more than 30 a day" accusation?
  17. Are you seriously suggesting that there are more than 30 recorded racist incidents against "white settlers" in the Highlands and Islands, I can't wait to see your source for this!! In Argyll and Bute there was a 59% vote in favour of remaining in the UK (probably one of the highest returns of "No" in the referendum). I am originally from the Islands and although I wouldn't say I'd never heard anything untoward it is certainly nothing compared to the blatant racism I heard when I lived down south.
  18. Clarkson will probably play as more of a No. 10 rather than as an out and out striker, I think for it to work we would need some pace from midfield otherwise we'll be quite slow up front.
  19. I haven't really put forward my opinion FS just saying that I know people for whom the thought of being out of the EU made them pitch for "no" in the independence vote. If you look at percentage difference between UK and EU refs then the 45/55 "no's" in the UK ref flips to 62/38 "remain". I'm not for a second suggesting that everyone who voted "remain" would now vote for "yes" but it certainly suggests that the threat of non-membership of the EU was a potential vote swayer.
  20. I know of "non-nationalists" who didn't vote for independence over the threat of not being part of the EU, the "nationalists" voted for independence irrespective of the EU vote
  21. Not really going into the ins and outs of the in/out but by your reckoning over 3.2 million didn't vote to leave or roughly 75% of the electorate didn't vote to leave, hardly a compelling argument!!
  22. One thing for certain is that if you don't reach for the top you'll never get there!!
  23. For the first time ever I'll miss the opening game of the "league" season because I'm on holiday (don't get back until the early hours of the 7th)...........here's hoping St Mirren TV is working and available in Orlando!!!
