  1. I think you will be on the board as you have skills to offer. You have my vote anyway.
  2. Don't thik he will need it as you are too shy to stand.
  3. The only thing on the minds of supporters who are not interested in the CIC is the performance of the team and results. We currently have around 2500 STH and 1500 who attend games through choice. If we are playing good football and getting results both these figures will increase. I can understand what you are saying but I think the vast majority outwith the 900 plegers are not against the CIC and don't give a toss about the boards. I hope the fans board won't carry any real power outwith trying to generate more money for the club which i'm sure Div,Polza , Tsu etc can do. Leave the big decisions to the quality we have on the other boards and we will become the best small club in Scotland with a united support.
  4. I remember Danny Lennon's greatest game. Mid 1980's Hibs v Aberdeen. For saints fans too young it was the same as Mark Corcoran v Motherwell ........Danny ran the show and as I had not seen him before I thought this is a great young player who will play for Scotland .Danny was 25 and it was to be his finest hour as a player. He has more than proved his worth as a manager and must be offered a 5 year contract. As we move to a CIC next week I will expect this to be the main priority for fans wishing election.
  5. This is a special time for us and has to include the great Danny Lennon/ Tommy Craig partnership for at least 5 years. If like some of the previous posts you think it's a gamble.......I would say it's a bigger one not to do it. And as you are standing for election Sid can you tell me as a voter if this will be your no1 priority?
  6. As our CIC will be comepleted in the next week or so I can't believe my concerns in the delay regarding the team have been so unfounded. Danny Lennon has secured 2 frormer Internationalists and a certain Nigel Hasselbaink. Although Gus got our hopes up with Dargo and Wyness I think the players we have now are the real deal. I was firmly in the camp of McPherson and I think he lost out when trying to take us forward by the fact Wyness was finished and Dargo injury prone. But Gus would never have played the Danny Lennon way and it is this that can make us great again under a CIC. The CIC will allow us to keep our better players for longer and increase our attendance which must be the priority of the CIC as far as the club is concerned. The catch 22 scenario applies to us in that the fans will only come out on a regular basis if the team is entertaining and winning. To be entertaining and winning you need the money from a hell of a lot more fans paying at the gate!
  7. Thankfully we have you Stuart and your voice of reason. As you were once a St Mirren fan and stupid you found a way of ditching your club to become a highly intelligent being. Now we have your plan for youth football I think we should ditch the fans board, REA and SG and just let you get on with it.
  8. Time will tell Stuart but I think the CIC's you mention are small and do not have the potential to raise a significant increase in support. We have massive potential and our club is unique in that it ticks all the boxes for a top flight CIC. A year from now Stuart we will see who's right. I personaly have no problem with you joining 10000hrs .....the only question i have raised is why?
  9. Stuart with all due respect can you not see where your posts are going?.... You are declairing yourself as the only voice of reason on here by saying All the St Mirren members who have signed up for the CIC are thick.... and you being a non supporter who has major issues with the club chairman and board have all the answers. As for REA not being a St Mirren supporter I think this fact is very different to your own situation. He is leading this venture and you are not. He became aware of the club through a series of events (hopefully not unfortunate!) and our club is the only one capable of acheiving a massive boost by becoming a CIC. He is not a supporter of any club but I am 100% sure he is one of only a small number of buisnessmen who could have spent the time and effort to deliver this model. Community members will come on board if it is a win/win situation regardless of who they support, Corporate members will judge for themselves whether £10000 will give them a return from their association with the club regardless of who they support. However I will never see why anyone would take an individual membership unless they support the club.
  10. Ok Stuart the games up. As I have already posted on here I can be a bit of a twat, spit the dummy out and rant about the funding bodies which do genuinely annoy me. I have never been against the CIC and am delighted it is going ahead. This site dosn't deal in reality and my position in the CIC will be to vote for a fans board which I am certain will contain enough quality to make the decisions they are allowed to make which rightly will not affect the long term direction of the club. I am totaly convinced the extra revenue we can create will allow us to challange for 3rd place but if I am wrong I will not be shouting from the rafters about how this didn't happen. My position will be to back it, vote for the fans board, support it by attending the events and if I feel something needs highlighting I will do it through the proper channels created by the CIC. Footall is a game and St Mirren are my club. I want them to acheive as much as they can but there are much more important things in life than football. Your suggestion that I and other supporters are some sort of rabble is laughable and I still have no idea why you wish to be involved as a non supporter.... that's like me wanting to get involved with another club like Motherwell. The only reason anyone should be involved in 10000hrs CIC is because they are St Mirren supporters....personaly I would pay £10 per month for no return if I was sure the club would benifit.
  11. Fantastic is just the begining. Once the cic takes over we could be challenging for 3rd. You need to bring 2 people who don't normally come to New St Mirren Park at the next home game against C*ltic to remain a Lochwinnoch Saint.
  12. It is now a fact......Thursday 18th August will be the date of completion.
  13. Great news the cic is finaly going ahead. My personal view has always been that this is a great idea and my anger has always been directed at the funding bodies who take an eternity to make a decision. However that is not a reason to doubt the integrity of REA and the long journey he has been on(I'm not sure any one else would have prevailed). My £10 per month goes into the pot with the confidence of helping the club and I need nothing in return.
  14. Can we copy Glee then Seaside? and sing "We are all in this together" at our next game?
  15. Yea I can understand your post and accept it 100% but I have never been against the CIC, only the funding bodies time scales and lack of information. I have had dealings with them in the past at a much lower level and I have to accept now that my rants were out of order as we procede towards St Mirren becoming a CIC. My true fear was that relegation would damage the embryo at birth and all it had to offer would be lost. I could not have been more wrong as Danny Lennon has given us a real reason to believe in the team before the CIC takes control. The CIC will take us to a new level by delivering a sustainable income which will allow us to both keep players and attract new ones. There is one important thing to remember in all of this and it is the fact that the funding bodies will gain a massive resource for a fraction of the price they would normaly have to invest in. We are in a win/win situation but never forget the value of the deal to the state.
  16. It's amazing how things can change in a year. Step up and accept the adulation of the humble saints fans for your great work in creating the best attacking side we have seen since the early eighties. Danny Lennon and Tommy Craig should be given 5 year contracts asap.
  17. Having collected my dummy from the pram I am delighted that the cic is finaly going ahead. I did not expect the revoloution on the park this season to be as great as it is now having witnessed the last 3 games. The signings of Thompson,Teale and Hasselbank gave us great heart but the football produced has been sublime. The end game for us has to be more people attending games and a bigger player buget to keep our momentum going. I have no doubts the cic is the only way we can acheive this and the first priority must be to get Danny Lennon on a 5 year contract. This can not only be a very special year but a year that makes us a genuine force in football for ever.
  18. I am happy it is going through, but dosn't it say something for the funding bodies that there are 3 dates for completion ?. They would never survive in a buisness world and are shockingly incompetent in the use of time. Let no one be in any doubt we are doing them a BIG favour.
  19. The time delay is unforgivable and as a previous supporter of the cic I will now be withdrawing my direct debit. As a massive supporter of the plan on here it is now clear that 10000hrs have neither the balls to set a date or continue any momentum towards a conclusion. The lack of information is pathetic and this will be my last post on here. It is clear to me now that Richard Atkinson has neither the ability or insight to take this forward. As the club will be sold i fear the worst so thank you and goodbye.
  20. The problem I have is with the funding bodies......I think they should have agreed to the deal in May or June. As it stands 10000hrs will not be able to complete the work of creating the facility we need to generate the extra income for the start of next season. As i beleive the benefits are very clear for both the community and the club , I feel a sense of disappointment in the timescale. How much time is realy needed to support or walk away from this deal? Bureaucracy is a sad fact of our self interest society and I still await all the funding managers proclaiming their support of this deal ......for me much too late and they are mostly total twats
